0:57 taking linger to boil doesn’t equal more fuel use. It’s a great burner, but it’s output is lower, so it does take longer. Lower output means you’re conserving fuel. If your flame is running up your pot it will boil more quickly, but you’re also wasting more fuel that travels away from your pot. Thats why the jet boil has sides

The alcohol stoves have their pros and cons. If you want your meal cooked or your water boiled fast you are barking up the wrong tree. If you want it done silently and in no big hurry, they are awesome. I mostly bought one because I am always the first person up in the morning and my MSR stoves are blast furnaces and make everyone cranky...

Have ordered one of these after being caught out recently without water on a longer than expected walk at one point along a river. On the storage front I was thinking of filling the bag with salt water and then put the top on with the filter on the inside, then just squeeze the bag until the salt solution starts coming out the mouth piece and then put the cap on, so its all full of salt solution and self contained for storage, then empty and flush ahead of the next trip

Main issue is that 110g canisters are worst value for money. Prefer a pot thst can take a 230g. BRS is also crap stove.
