looks like you might want to check your capacitors (replace any of the electrolitic capacitors you find) as they are likely to be out of spec and causing some of the problems too.
Should see if Atari 7800 Homebrew like Ricki and Vicki or Popeye cartridges
The Intellivision Flashback came out in 2014 for $39. It kinda bombed but I liked it anyway. Sadly for me, Tommy Tallarico completely ruined my warm feelings for the Intellivision platform and brand, and now I mostly want it to fade away. One last look via the Atari 50 update coming this fall is enough for me.
id say your tv is off.
@@huseman21 Possibly, but it works great with an Atari and I tried using tuners in 2 different VCRs.
Atari?
@@Lokpique Atari purchased the Intellivision IP. Very exciting stuff!
@@300BaudStudios Now I feel old, I remember when they were competitors! Growing up we had the Atari 2600 and the neighbours had the Intellivision. We were a little spoiled! Loved this video! It really brought back a lot of memories!
I used to love playing the baseball and skiing games back in the 80s. Always wanted an Atari but got Intellivision instead - and it was great too. =)
@@JimBob_McRob The odd one to have but not all that bad!
So many fond memories of playing Intellivision Baseball and Football in the 80s!
@@okrajoe I too would have enjoyed playing the sports games but the only p3ople I knew who had a intellivision were friends of my dad's, not mine.
The Colecovision was better.
@@steverino6954 I agree but it came out later. Technology moved rappidly in the 80's.
yeah, this was 1979 vs 1982 for Colecovision I think. Still, love the homebrew scene for all these systems. The Intellivision has received some NES and 8-bit computer ports over the last few years and lots of new original games that blow away what they were releasing back in the day.
thank you for such video ! lots of love for the Intellivision
@@2001pl Good to hear that you enjoyed the video. I have more planned so stay tuned ;-)
I love my Intellivision console ! so many great games !
@@2001pl They did have some good games on the Intellivision.
@@300BaudStudios wonderful ones, still greatly enjoyable today
Interesting, I never had Intellivision as a kid in the 80's, so I bought Intellivision 1 second hand in 2017 (PAL / Euro version), seller said it's from 1981. Have used it only with crt tv, and it works fine, at least last time I used it (in 2023). Haven't used it with my Sony Bravia tv, and by the looks of it, might be waste of time to even try. I also have the PS2 Intellivision Lives! game, and while I enjoy playing the games in it, and watching the documents, indeed PS2 controller doesn't give authentic Intellivision gaming experience. Certainly would be nice to see modern Intellivision Mini console with original style controllers. I was really looking forward to see what comes out of the Intellivision Amico project, sadly it seems to be canceled now.
@@mrjsv4935 A new mini would be nice as it is getting difficult to keep these old system running.
Had one in the early 90s and even then the video connection was faulty
@@abcpea A system with HDMI out would be awesome!
Uh, they made a new intellivision. The Amico. It was horrible.
It takes a profound level of failure to where the Atari VCS beats you
@@dustin6225 The Amico never shipped. Even if it had I would not have purchased one.
@@300BaudStudiosGood for you. That whole rollercoaster to hell played on my heart a little as an old Intellivision fan. However, TT was a lunatic.

I've been using the "Clean Comp" composite/S Video mod from Retro Six. The board solders right to the pins on the back side of the TIA chip, it doesn't require any component removal (except on the Jr. need to remove RF jack on the back), or drilling into the case, and the picture can be adjusted to clean it up if needed. This mod is not as bad as it doesn't require drilling, but it still requires removing stuff.
The original Collecovision controller will work for Omega Race. Giving you access to both action buttons.
2 mins in, and too much incorrect story telling. stopped watching.

I played thousands of hours of Intellivision. So sad that I sold it and my 60+ cartridges while saving up for my Amiga back in the day. If only I knew how much I'd have liked to have it in my collection today.
I think we all have regrets on some of the items we have parted ways with over the years; mine would have been the APF Imagination Machine. But, the Intellivision did hep you get that glorious Amiga! I just don't want to know what you traded it in for ;-)
The interface cartridges are not unique, the star nl-10 has it too. It even has a c64 interface cartridge too
sales don't matter to me because i hate popularity i think popularity is overrated to me i always love prefer unpopularity over popularity that's just me i love my new atari vcs 800 it made me a new atari fan i love it way better than nintendo switch, xbox and playstation i'm just not a fan of sony, microsoft and nintendo i'm only a fan of bally astrocade, sega and atari i think atari vcs is underrated unpopular great best sleeper hit to me in my honest unpopular point of view perspective mindset and that's just my unpopular preference i'm excited about atari acquire intellivison
This is actually a pretty nice little dot matrix printer. Decently capable compared to the cheaper MPS 80x printers.
8:50: Commodore isn't on the list because Commodore didn't make printers for PCs. When Windows 3 shipped and printer companies had to start making their own device drivers for Windows (except HP, which paid MSFT to do it for them), Commodore was well on their way to going bankrupt, was irrelevant in the US marketplace, and as I said, did not make PC printers. Citizen, on the other hand, did have printer drivers in Windows. Should have tried that first.
And VIC-1525 for the win!
It is awesome that you have done this for us to see 👍🤩👍
Ricordando più di 20 anni fa a scuola con la stampante con la carta bucata ai lati,,,,
I shouldnt have gotten rid of mine before knowing it could be connected to my computer.
I sold an Okidata printer and regreted it untill I found this one. Now I am on the hunt for a MPS-801 :-)
wow

Thanks, He is my best friend :-)
11:00 - The sound of my youth.
Even better with Print Shop!
Something I learned many years ago is that Windows 95 can use 16 bit Windows 3.1 printer drivers. I wonder if Windows 98 and 98SE can? How about Windows Me? 32 bit NT4, XP, or 2000?
Not sure but if you are running the 64 bit version of XP you need to use 64 bit drivers which can complicate setting up hardware.
I'm glad you didn't edit it out. The sounds of these old machines are a key part of the experience.
Senhores, a PICA está OFF
Tentarei imprimir no Linux usando a fonte pica integrada.
doggy!! :D
The old Dot Matrix printers usually had the IBM format or Epson FX or Apple Write emulator They usually had a dip switches setting for the computer your using. The newer ones could be initialized by the drivers from Windows Telling the printer what format to use I remember when 25 pin serial port or the 36 pin centronic There were also some other odd pin sizes The serial port was for unix or other machines, so if you were using a machine like a phone company central office the serial connection could go to a screen cga or a printer It was really cool back then.
True, but you might loose some of the nice features of a newer of more capable printer when emulating the IBM or Epson.
Excelente vídeo. I had a File:Amstrad DMP 3000 and i belive i stil have a smal Canon portable printer in the loft..
Great to have a retro fan on the channel 👍
Whoa! I use an MPS-1200 and the only difference seems to be it has another Commodore serial port instead of that wide parallel one you got. Recently bought a new compatible ribbon for it too! My "backup" printer is actually an MPS-801! Slow and loud, shakes when the print head slides back for the next line, but it gets the job done. There's so little you can do with its limited features, makes it beautiful actually. Built like a tank.
You can turn your MPS 1200 into a MPS 1250 by swapping out the interface card. I would love to see your MPS-801 in action ;-)
8:28 they didn’t. it’s also just some of their generic drivers
C64 and Amige would also use the Epson FX drivers.
@@300BaudStudios that’s right, I meant that Microsoft themselves did not produce any printers as you said at 8:28
Oh man, that one's a tad slow. The dot matrix we had on the Atari would do bidirectional printing. (That was a Star printer.)
This printer support bi-directional printing but only in text mode. What you see here is graphics mode.
Wish I had a 1250. I have a Okidata ml320 on my network, that I use with Amiga, Unix, and Win 10. I use mostly use Star C= printer with my 64.
I had a Okimate 120 years ago. It was a beast but did not work very well with the Amiga for me as I was using print drivers provided by Commodore. Things have likely changed since then.
I saw this and instantly: _Epson MX-80_ popped into mind!
It is very similar; but not built by Epson.
Nothing like the "preow" of a dot matrix printer.
I had a Star Micronics Gemini 10x printer from around 1983 to the mid 90s. I originally used it on my Apple 2+ and finished with an IBM 386sx clone when it mechanically died. I believe it was Epson Mx80 compatible, but the best feature is that it used old fashioned typewriter ribbons which were didn't last very long, but were extremely cheap and available at virtually all stores. It had virtually no sound proofing and was not the quickest, but was a workhorse.
