Lightgun games won't work on anything other than a CRT, so no. Pitfall II won't work initially. There is talk on AA about possible methods to get it to work, so maybe with some updates. The 2600+ will be USB updatable... So hoping for improved compatibility over time.
I started collecting 2600 carts about 2 years ago when I bought a Return 77, I now have about 60 carts. Very excited for the 2600+, got my first 7 Atari 7800 cartridges!
I don't collect. But I did accumulate 103 Atari 2600 cartridges, during the time before the crash. Sold them later on to get rid of the space it was taking up. Original boxes with manuals. Plus many Atari 2600 accessories. So made out as a bandit. The only time I got close of having that many games for a gaming console was PS3 with 75 games. Been selling that collection as well. I current have PS4 with 27 games. I don't miss the Atari 2600. Since I download Stella the Atari 2600 emulator and replay any game that I sold in the past. Emulators take up less room and still can enjoy the game play.
I have parted with many items in the past and regret a few; like a complete boxed Odyssey 1. The value of these games has gone up significantly in recent years; especially complete in the box!
I have a few games which are listed as untested. Fingers crossed they work Fatal Run - 2600 version 2 Pack Special Alien Force & Hoppy Rad Action Pak - Activision Skate Boardin’ Super Hit Pak - Activision
Fatal Run would be a good one to have. It is possible that future emulation will be improved allowing for improved game compatability. Only time will tell.

I preordered mine and immediately went to my local Thrift gaming store that I knew had many 2600 and 7800 cartridges and bought about twenty! I did this while they were still 3.00 or 6.00 a piece. I wanted to make sure I got some just in case the prices for these cartridges went up due to the release of this system. I’m not a flipper just wanted some for me to play before a possible price hike by savvy flippers. Awesome collection ! I was looking for Pile position but I was not able to find it at the store-fond memories of the start song and the “Prepare to qualify ”. Ha ha! Good times!
If you don't already have a collection of 2600 carts it could get a little expensive as retro games are getting to difficult to find. If you are on a budget you could look into the Gamestation Pro or even a Flashback.
Nice collection! I've also been getting my VCS and 7800 carts out of cardboard box storage retirement to have a look at what I have. Noticed I'm missing games I played as a child (Frostbite, Jungle Hunt, Spider Fighter and many more) - considering getting some from eBay. I'm going to wait for reviews before considering buying the 2600+.
I hope the new release of the 2600+ will release the trackball controller. Imagine playing missle command and centipede with the trackball and I believe there are others.
Really great collection. Looks like mine! I have a bad feeling Atari+ "not tested" means "doesn't work". Some of those games marked not tested are pretty common, while super rare games were tested. I hope they iron it out before they system is released.
All I can say is ordered two of these new atari's I think I'm going to have I start playing my Atari which I can't do with my new TV I know I'll burn out one of them eventually so I got to have a backup
@@300BaudStudios I looked into it. Some it was and some it wasn't. It appears Robot Tank was a test marker. IIf your 7800 worked with it you would have no compatibility issues with most anything else.. I guess there is a simple wire unhook mod you can do to have your 7800 work with it.
If it's the 4 or 8k version, it'll probably work, but forget about any of the bigger, more advanced Melody-based games.. Those won't work and neither will any flashcart. :/
@@300BaudStudios Harmony cart only works in single game dev mode and only games that already work on it and only 4k games Homebrew that is 4K works like Halo and Pacman 4k work fine, Many 2600 and almost all 7800 homebrew use memory banking or have other chip enhancements and do not work at this time.
I really enjoyed Tron Deadly Discs on the Intellivision. I don't feel that it translated so well to the Atari style joystick and it likley was void of a few other features. What are your thaughts?

I thought you meant that the Intellivision version of Deadly Discs was not as good as other games in your box (I thought that was an Intellivision cart you picked up). Stupid me. I didn't know that game was on the Atari 2600. I'll go investigate that now...
@@mortimore4030 Not a big deal. What I ment to say is that I wanted to play the Intellivision version on an actual Intellivision. The M-Network games for the VCS are a bit wierd in that they look like an Intellivision but have a strange clip at the end.
I already stopped the video when you said Parker Brothers did a great job! Why? Because they are crooks, or they got suckered by the people who stole Spiderman from my older brother and me! Which I entered into a video game contest at my school(the idea of Spiderman came from my older brother) and those holding this contest...they stole it! Parker Brothers, were a part of Milton Bradley, located exactly where my school New North, is located (now renamed something else) but located in Springfield Mass! Some lady gets credit for Spiderman now! But she's a liar, she did not come up with the idea of Atari Spiderman! These people took advantage of children! But I'm telling the (real story) now!

I have not purchased a new atari cart in decades. The new run and jump game looks really good. I might have to add it to my collection.

The original Collecovision controller will work for Omega Race. Giving you access to both action buttons.

I have Robot Tank. It works on my 7800.
I am quite sure I have played Robot Tank on my 7800 but for whatever reason it was sold as incompatible with the 7800 back in the day.

According to the Immortal John Hancock, most homebrew as well as the Harmony cart are incompatible.
