Unboxing and testing my 40+ year old Intellivision, Intellivision II, and Intellivision Fashback consoles. What works, what doesn't work, and why we need an new Intellivision.
The Intellivision Flashback came out in 2014 for $39. It kinda bombed but I liked it anyway. Sadly for me, Tommy Tallarico completely ruined my warm feelings for the Intellivision platform and brand, and now I mostly want it to fade away. One last look via the Atari 50 update coming this fall is enough for me.
Interesting, I never had Intellivision as a kid in the 80's, so I bought Intellivision 1 second hand in 2017 (PAL / Euro version), seller said it's from 1981. Have used it only with crt tv, and it works fine, at least last time I used it (in 2023). Haven't used it with my Sony Bravia tv, and by the looks of it, might be waste of time to even try. I also have the PS2 Intellivision Lives! game, and while I enjoy playing the games in it, and watching the documents, indeed PS2 controller doesn't give authentic Intellivision gaming experience. Certainly would be nice to see modern Intellivision Mini console with original style controllers. I was really looking forward to see what comes out of the Intellivision Amico project, sadly it seems to be canceled now.
looks like you might want to check your capacitors (replace any of the electrolitic capacitors you find) as they are likely to be out of spec and causing some of the problems too.
@@300BaudStudios Now I feel old, I remember when they were competitors! Growing up we had the Atari 2600 and the neighbours had the Intellivision. We were a little spoiled! Loved this video! It really brought back a lot of memories!
yeah, this was 1979 vs 1982 for Colecovision I think. Still, love the homebrew scene for all these systems. The Intellivision has received some NES and 8-bit computer ports over the last few years and lots of new original games that blow away what they were releasing back in the day.

@@okrajoe I too would have enjoyed playing the sports games but the only p3ople I knew who had a intellivision were friends of my dad's, not mine.
Blackjack was great. Te dealer made such funny faces.

I used to love playing the baseball and skiing games back in the 80s. Always wanted an Atari but got Intellivision instead - and it was great too. =)

Had one in the early 90s and even then the video connection was faulty

@@huseman21 Possibly, but it works great with an Atari and I tried using tuners in 2 different VCRs.
The Colecovision was better.
