Most of the "big " jobs are not that bad if you take your time and take some extra steps to be organized. I think the input shaft bearing on Dads Case DC may be going, which involves splitting the tractor. The service manual shows doing exactly what you're doing with the threaded rod to keep it all lined up

I don’t know what the color name is for the AC tractor, the company owner took a vacation to California and fell in love with the California poppies. He then used that color for his tractors.

Is the engine a Waukesha engine? If so, they have a very distinct sound.

Put wax paper between the halves of the wheel. Oldtimers did that for the rear wheel clamps also

There's a little known fact that if that bolt breaks in the seat , you could possibly die if you're pulling a big harrow

The On/Off Switch on the control panel is only for the Load Terminal on the bottom of the Control Box. No Commo, No Intel.

I tried to tell you to put the cup and felt washer on first. You weren’t listening you were thinking about that homemade fried chicken your wife was making for supper.

I have actually seen old tractor engines so worn out you would literally have to pull crank it , then it would die when you let the couch out ( not enough compression to even pull it's own weight. These engines will run untill there literally dead!

Best thing to do is replace everything rings, valve seats, rod bearings , piston maybe be reused but if I had any doubt I would replace it. The last thing you want to do is have to tear it back apart

Tip of the day, do not leave that valve cap on there if it has a metal thread/insert... it will rust onto the valve stem.. 👍👌

Interesting that there's no seal on the output splines; on Series Land Rovers there's generally a special felt ring that fits over the splines under the castle nut........ Good to tick this one off 👍
