Wow what a job to do on your own, very relieved to see you taking sensible steps to protect yourself. Most of the "big " jobs are not that bad if you take your time and take some extra steps to be organized.
I think the input shaft bearing on Dads Case DC may be going, which involves splitting the tractor. The service manual shows doing exactly what you're doing with the threaded rod to keep it all lined up

Enjoyed the video ! Son and I have two Allis Chalmers D 15s . Thought my rear main was leaking but found it was mostly the trans input shaft seal . Your WD45 may be much different ? You may want to check out the unoffical allis chalmers web site ? Lots of good info and guys on there . Good luck !

Is the engine a Waukesha engine? If so, they have a very distinct sound.

I don’t know what the color name is for the AC tractor, the company owner took a vacation to California and fell in love with the California poppies. He then used that color for his tractors.
