If the 1911 had an "arch nemesis", I think we can all agree, it would be the Luger. In the spirit of "know thy enemy", our *less than* Dynamic Duo went out and bought Lugers for themselves to better understand what it's like to be on the losing side of a World War. Stay tuned, as we have two "special appearance" Lugers that have unique histories all on their own. It's always .45 Friday here at ...
Nick and Eli Talk Colt's Pocket Pistols... Again
Переглядів 1,5 тис.21 день тому
It's really no secret, the boys in the Sales and Marketing Department for ACW love themselves a pre-war Colt's Pocket pistol. Nick just picked up a Colt's Model 1908 Pocket Hammerless, .380 ACP in Vegas at the Antique Arms Show, so today it will be shot for the first time in his possession. Eli, strangely enough, didn't have any of his Pocket Colt's with him, as his gun case for traveling to Te...

ACW 2024 Resto-Mod: Classic Government
Переглядів 4,5 тис.Місяць тому
By the end of the Great War (the first time we kicked Germany’s ass), the Colt’s Model of 1911 was cemented into the history books as “America’s Gun”. Even as the revolver clung to popularity, the men who were forced to “live by the gun” soon realized the Colt’s .45 was THE premier choice in handguns. By this time, Colt had commercialized their automatic success, dubbed the “Government Model” t...

Red Dots on 1911s- Alchemy Custom Weaponry

The less-than-dynamic duo is back to talk about a recently controversial topic- red dots on 1911 pistols. You'll have some folks who say it's blasphemous and others who say it's necessary, but regardless of what camp you are in we've got an option for you. We at ACW utilize the Cabot (our sister company) Red Dot Mount. This makes up one of the very, very few things we actually throw into a mode...
The Coolest 1911 Grips You Could Own- Alchemy Custom Weaponry

In this life, you get one shot... why not go all out with some ancient mammoth ivory grips to accent your beautiful 1911 pistol? Man has been incorporating ornate bone and wood into firearms since their invention. Something that, in our age of "tacticool" seems to have been unfortunately lost to the history books. We at ACW find that to be a tragedy and are now offering four variations of mammo...

I own some old colt revolvers, 1911’s, as well as some older s&w revolvers from the 60’s and 70’s with the exception of some muzzle wear from the leather holsters they ride in, they look fantastic. Grew up with blue and walnut guns and I guess I’m just old and set in my ways. But I take the extra step to keep them nice and when I order my new prime which will be soon I hope , it too will be a blue 5’ govt model.
My beloved M14. As an older than dirt Marine Ive actually used one in the sand box episode 1. Accuracy is not an issue as long as you feed it a proper diet. Shooting shitty link ammo will give piss poor results. You can tell dudes balls aint dropped yet....
Been really going back and forth on who I’m going to buy my first non Colt, custom 1911 pistol. Really digging ACW and their matte chrome. I think I’m at the point of trying to pick which model for edc in full size 45.
Let us know if you ever have any questions!
You can get a Aimpoint 9000SC that is the current up to date optic in the original form like the 2000, 3000 ect. (The original Aimpoint hunting optics) You can get it 2moa or 4moa dot.
In spite of being a toddler, Duckworth has an old soul.
No Delta 1911???
Built my Gordon Carbine on a H&R A2 COT's lower, C7 12.5" gov't profile upper with a centurion arms Op's Inc brake and Aimpoint PRO red dot. Don't have a can yet, but I need one because that thing will rattle your head unsuppressed.
Don't forget the blood diamond carbine
I just watched the movie again yesterday, and you guys released a video today.. get out of my head 😂
You guys better get some delta 1911s and 723s.
Great job, boys!! Keep posting fun content and building great 1911's, and the world will keep steady!
YES!
Hilarious. Yall made me laugh. I remember the Battle of Mogadishu and Desert Storm, too. What a time. Desert Storm trading cards at 7-11. Still wear Schwartzkopfs at work. Lol.
Was at the National Infantry Museum this week. The 'Black Hawk Down' 'Mogadishu Somalia' ' Operation Gothic Serpent' display has been removed. It had some very cool personal memorabilia with names that are now famous in this community. Disapointed was I.
Lame
I thought it was at Airborne & Special Ops Museum in Fayetteville, not at Benning.
@@LRRPFco52 the Somali flag signed by the 3rd Bat. 75th members, (and other stuff) was on display at the National Infantry Museum at Benning/Moore 6 years ago. You will recognize it from todd blackburn signing with "the rope lizard".
I was born September 1999
Both of you make me feel old at nearly fifty.
Fake stamp.
Completely and absolutely fake.
@@lorenrogers9269 After we filmed this, I did some research via the gun's serial and a few other things and came to the same conclusion. I'm by NO means a Luger "person", we were simply going off what we were told by the museum curator.
Milk shakes are amazing with strawberry winning... on guns tho? I simply want... a super high polish 5 inch government... with 'gasp' the government hammer! and in blue.. I would settle for the same thing in nickel.. in fact... would prefer that. would also settle for 45 acp but would like it in 38 super (just to ruin the 9 mm guys day even more) When I say 'government' that means 5" barrel and no messing with the hammer and no odd looking (but very modern) beavertail. Give me the 'useless' standard loooooow grip on the gun which oddly... works for me. what else works for me is the standard hammer that I can cock on the draw (duh) I know it is 'stylish' to carry cocked and locked but that is not how the gun was intended to be carried.
Bring it out in high polish blue (python or so) and a standard government hammer? and I am sold. I can put finish wear on my own guns. don't need to fake it.
Add the lanyard strap, place the lanyard over your off hand shoulder with the firing arm through the lanyard loop. Firing a Luger P08 with a lanyard is a push of the hand on the pistole and a tension pull of the lanyard against the body to create a "isometric" style hold maintaining the weapon on target during firing. This facilitates rapid recovery of the sight picture.
Good video. If you are handling a Luger, be aware that some have a safety that works different. So, work the lever and when a little piece comes up and blocks the sear, then it is on safe.
Beautiful sexy 1911 … ✅ all the boxes ! 🫡🇺🇸
Well said Eli . The young people need to get ready , their time in the fire 🔥 is rapidly approaching in my humble opinion. As a former Paratrooper, Airborne operations cut their teeth on June 6th . 325th Airborne Infantry “ Let’s Go “ !
the luger taken off an SS officer is an inanimate object. it is neither evil, nor good. only the people using it can be evil or good.
Pistol 1908, Navy 1904,
1893 was that magic button. Moses liked heel like Ruger 22 mk1-3
1911 got European mag reliece
Awesome guns!
So that is why strikers suck, they were born of NAZI dogs. Just another of the many reasons to hate Glocks.😂
Superior. German. Aesthetic.
Interesting content thanks! Enjoy a good jawborny's talk haha.
We maybe putting out more stuff like this in the future. We have a lot of fun with it.
Nice to see you boys ennjoying striker fied goodness 😂 glock glock glock
EW.
Walther P.38s next please. That is P dot 38 military Nazi Hitler Walther P-38s made by Walther, Spreewerk, and Mauser. Not post war P-38s or P dash 38s. You can bet they are haunted by the Nazi officers that carried them and you can bet they were worn a lot and shot little. If it were not for the Walther Nazi P.38 most of the features on modern 9mm auto pistols today would not be there with due respect to the Browning Hi Power contributions. Thanks for sharing.
That could be fun. The P.38 is a very revolutionary and influential pistol in its own right!
Never apologize or feel ashamed about thinking a gun is cool.
The touchy - feely angst over the Dachau pistol was a little overdone but also kind of understandable. The fact that the current caretaker of these historic pistols allowed you guys to not just handle but also shoot that pistol is just outstanding. You guys just held significant history and were allowed to shoot a museum quality firearm. Congratulations! I do watch one of your videos now & then, and enjoy your 1911 content. This was a refreshingly different look at something very few of us get the chance to see, much less handle and shoot. Congratulations again on the fact that each of you managed to find and purchase original pre-WWII Lugers. I wish I could afford one myself.
The Dachau pistol was a little strange to hold, just thinking about its history.
I can't stand a Luger, but... love the ACW boys, so... nice video!
We love you too.
Love you guys..
Thanks!
Love this channel
Thank you!
Hilarity ensues
As is normal.
I wish this was not limited to 25 , I love this .
I have 7 acw guns and 3 cabots so im versed. I will say though, there is something to be said about a joe Chambers 2019 pistol!
What grips are those? :0
I would like a 9mm for capacity, I’m very use to 3-3.5in barrels so I stay in the sub compact side of firearms, I went to a range where I can hold a 1911 in a commander size and they put it in a holster for me to put it in my wasit band see the size difference and it’s a little notice. That being said I want 4.25 instead of the defender size as I hear there’s issues with them but I do like the staccato cs as it hold more as it’s a double stack. Which should I choose??
My dad done the rock work and helped build the Veteran's Memorial where you filmed this at Eli!! He was very happy and wanted to thank you and everyone at Alchemy for remembering people like his father and my grandfather who were there on D-Day!!
Excellent video. Educate and entertain. In Eli we Trust.
Who’s disassembling their 1911 any other way than this?
Both are great pistols. Between the two, the 1903 is one of my favorites. My opinion, the pistols in the video should have a spring replacement done.
This must be the 10th time I watched this video. 😎
Had some giraffe bone grips made for blue colt gold cup from Joe Perkins at classic single actions. Long waiting list but well worth it.
forget 9mm mags with spacers in them. just buy mec-gar's and be done with all the garbage. they work, and they are affordable.
