  • It's a movie that most gun enthusiasts are more than familiar with. For some, the movie sparked their interest in firearms (like Nick). Regardless, it has some awesome action and awesome guns! Today, the ACW sales team is going to go through two very famous guns from the movie: the M14 and "Gordon Carbine".

Was at the National Infantry Museum this week. The 'Black Hawk Down' 'Mogadishu Somalia' ' Operation Gothic Serpent' display has been removed. It had some very cool personal memorabilia with names that are now famous in this community.
    Disapointed was I.

I thought it was at Airborne & Special Ops Museum in Fayetteville, not at Benning.

@@LRRPFco52 the Somali flag signed by the 3rd Bat. 75th members, (and other stuff) was on display at the National Infantry Museum at Benning/Moore 6 years ago. You will recognize it from todd blackburn signing with "the rope lizard".

    My beloved M14.
As an older than dirt Marine Ive actually used one in the sand box episode 1.
Accuracy is not an issue as long as you feed it a proper diet.
Shooting shitty link ammo will give piss poor results.
You can tell dudes balls aint dropped yet....

The Gordon/Vickers Delta Carbine is definitely a vibe. Even today in 2024 the Colt 723 is no slouch. I built one and a XM-177E2 at the same time and it's difficult to choose between the two. Although I prefer the aluminum CAR stock and the 11½" 1-12" twist barrel on the XM-177E2 for burning up 55gr M193 and the Classic 1967 MACV-SOG vibes.

Built my Gordon Carbine on a H&R A2 COT's lower, C7 12.5" gov't profile upper with a centurion arms Op's Inc brake and Aimpoint PRO red dot. Don't have a can yet, but I need one because that thing will rattle your head unsuppressed.

Hilarious. Yall made me laugh. I remember the Battle of Mogadishu and Desert Storm, too. What a time. Desert Storm trading cards at 7-11. Still wear Schwartzkopfs at work. Lol.

Especially accurized, the M14 was always a gun trying to beat itself to death.
I think a bone stock M1A/M14 is worth having, but frankly only out of nostalgia, not performance.
