After episode 7 I feel like we can definitely say the spinning shot showing the life of Silky and her daughter together is probably one of the best of the show yet. It was like a rotating version of the similar tracking shot in Wolf Children.

Could you do a similar analysis for Chainsaw Man's adaptation? The cinematic inspiration is so deeply steeped into it, I honestly think it's criminally underrated, it would be lovely to see more people recognising just how ahead of it's time and ambitious it was.

I wasn't sure about the show because of the same concerns you pointed out from the first episode, but that changing scene with Okarun framed in the mirror was so beautifully done and communicated the story it was telling so effectively, I got over it and have stuck with it so far. (And I've been rewarded with more great animation and really well-written character dynamics so far.)

Some of the best media comes when the creators draw influence from other mediums, like here with anime and film. Imo the same thing happened in the past with games, where devs brought influence from external media into their games rather than repeating things they've already seen in other games.
