@@Ontos99 im just tired of all of these games having the same story/message man. FF16 lifted like half of its plot structure, and all of its ending and themes from Xenoblade 1. it makes these games super samey, at least the ones that have come out recently
Thank you for giving Shinia's point of view another spotlight. She is so important to the story but I see a lot of people misunderstanding or failing to empathize with her.
Ultimately, Shania desired the 'will to power'-the ability to have options, to choose the brush over the gun. While she was allured by the reincarnation offered to the soldiers of Aionios, it is ultimately a mediocre existence still. The true independence would be to break free of the confines of this world, not to have another chance at success. But that 'will to live' she argues for is so relatable that it is hard to directly counter it. We all want to have another go at life after all. Especially when your life didn't quite pan out the way you wanted. So I definitely get Shania and she is the one of the most underrated characters in the game.
What you mean a safe sequel? A sequel is almost always safe since its a continuation of the previous either is gameplay or story. Of course it would seem too similar thats the whole point of a sequel? You want a new entry not a sequel. Also even is they are a safe sequel or new entry gameplay ideas are always different. And wheres does your idea that Monolith Soft pitched Nintendo new games come from ? Do you have a source or is that just your headcanon? If you dont like to play a game then just dont play it ?
Everything is taken from Monolith soft and Takahashi san interviews. No headcanon A sequel can either be safe or innovative. Regardless of the fact that it uses iterative gameplay. I'll explain it properly with another video soon.
@@Ontos99 just say you dont find the game interesting. That is easier to explain, then to find some pseudo reasons that dont always seem to fit. How was Totk not innovative in the gameplay department. A game can be derivative while still having new gameplay idea. As is said you want a totally new standalone game and not a sequel. I could say Monolith Soft is too safe to still using autoattack system that builds into combos and want them to change. But that is exactly what I like about the combo system and dont want them to change it too much instead build upon it. And if they change it they should explore it in a side game or new ip. Not every single Mario or Zelda game can be a 2017 Odyssey and Botw that reinvent then wheel. That is 1. delusional, 2. takes too much time, 3. too much resources and money. You can hope for new fresh ideas but expecting them is the wrong idea.
@obba40 dont jump the gun immediately. I'll explain my reasons soon. Nothing to do with "finding the game interesting"or not. There is an art to "making a sequel" and it is a fine balance you need to find.
@@Ontos99 that is an opinion not a fact
Thank you! That was amazing

Man this game was such a disapointing experience. After xenoblade 2 I was so hyped
XC3 is a different beast compared to 1 and 2. Tell me what some of the things are that made you feel disappointed about it?
@Ontos99 the cast. The worldbuilding. The last third of the game. The saturday morning cartoons villians. The progresión (very linear). For moments it try to hard to be so mature and big than feel childish at moment.
@@gonzalocachi4329 how did you feel about the analysis
Haven't even watched the video yet, but considering the discourse [it's honestly soured me on the series a bit], I'm glad the algorithm sent this to me.
If you are soured on Xenoblade 3 because of the 'discourse', this will be a palate cleanser if you will. Maybe even show a side of 3 that you'll appreciate more. It certainly did that for me as the creator. This was a challenging script to write in general. Let me know your thoughts after watching it. Much love,
I don't mean to be rude by asking this, I'm just curious: does your native language not have gendered pronouns or something? I've noticed that you say "her" when referring to male characters often, but you do get it correct sometimes. Just curious if there is any particular cause for this quirk, since otherwise there are no issues
My native language doesnt have them and I'll fix them going forward. Sorry about that. Thank you for the comment.
@@Ontos99 Thanks for the answer. I just happened to notice it recurring because I've just watched a bunch of your Xenoblade videos in a row. Great work, I'm shocked that you don't get more views
I am truly baffled by how some can say Crys is boring. I do actually like Miyabi though, i think she really is like Crys to Mio, showing her how wonderful off-seeing really is!
Thats is a good way to put it. Miyabi really is someone that helped Mio to 'find value in all things' similar to how Crys did for Noah
What music did you use around 47:00-48:00?

1:34:20 and 1:40:55 Gosh, what wonderful Xenoblade 2 and 3 references!
A Xenoblade fan I see. Let me know your thoughts on my 'Philosophy of XC3' and Amalthus analysis up on the channel ;))
This is the first video I came across of yours (excellent video!) so maybe your other Xenoblade videos dive into this, but towards the end I had a sudden realization and possible explanation: that in Aionios, the powers of Logos and Pneuma are gifted to those who represent totality of different worldviews. That Logos was gifted to N, who had selfish desires to cling on to love and his own life and to perpetuate eternity's flow (might extend to all other Moebius given that they too have purple cores and purple ether); while Pneuma was gifted to those who wish to change the stagnant and hope for a better future while at the same time wishing not to abandon their fellow man, hence Matthew, Noah, and possibly all other Ouroboros candidates.
Yes. I think you'll enjoy both my Amalthus and Crys analysis
To me it was obvious Noah was an Ubermensch, even before Takahashi confirmed it. Also noteworthy to me... ~Thus Spoke Zarathustra~ 1. The Three Metamorphoses What is the great dragon which the spirit is no longer inclined to call Lord and God? "Thou-shalt," is the great dragon called. But the spirit of the lion saith, "I will." "Thou-shalt," lieth in its path, sparkling with GOLD-a scale-covered beast; and on every scale GLITTERETH GOLDEN, "Thou shalt!" The values of a thousand years GLITTER on those scales, and thus speaketh the mightiest of all dragons: "All the values of things-GLITTER on me. N is the GOLD Moebius because he represents their highest values... as Z says, "You do after all desire eternity... above all others." Love your videos man keep it up!
Xenoblade is one of the rare things that makes more sense and becomes more fascinating under scrutiny
A gift that keeps on giving - Rex
It's literally the perfect way to describe xenoblade.
In my opinion Hegel should be looked at for the trilogy. Hegelian dialectics can be found all throughout and is also the structure of the trilogy itself. the war between Bionis and Mechonis and the result at the end is that, the separation between human and blade is that, and synthesizes in various ways , and the third game is a synthesis of the first and second game which make up the thesis and antithesis of each other in several ways.
Congrats! Amazing
I’m loving your videos! Really enjoyed the one on the philosophy of XC3 - It’s never outright confirmed that Gort is Lora’s father. We don’t know their exact relationship. He could be the father, he could be a stepfather, the mother’s boyfriend, an uncle, a family friend, etc. Regardless, he is an abusive asshole. Also, I don’t quite agree with your interpretation of why Amalthus killed the baby. He knew the child had no hope for a future, so he shushed the baby to bring some peace in the child’s last moments. After seeing the cruelties of the world, Amalthus becomes disillusioned with the Architect and decides that he might as well play god.
Thats actually what I argued for already. Watch my Amalthus analysis please. Thanks. Glad you liked it
Thanks to you man ! I'll use your work one day.
That was really good wtf
Thanks I enjoyed your Xenogears essay
Thanks for the great video. One thing I wish to add is: Takahashi not only wished to talk about Nietzsche and Camus here in his works, but also Sartre who brings an element of hope into the rebel against nihilism. Sartre means as you said (and as Nietzsche said in his works) in this video: an emphasis on the will to self-overcoming instead of the will to living. That's why Takahashi chooses to end the eternal return in both Xenosaga 3 and Xenoblade 3 to reveal the true meaning of amor fati and eternal return. For the eternal return of: not the similar but the dissimilar; to love the fate you create (contingency and hope), not the fate you tolorate (necessity and despair).
Join my discord if you want to discuss Xenoblade with me: discord.gg/6F8GeMAUEd
Honestly, the editing got me in actual tears when you asked the viewers if you can not only accept, but LOVE your own fate. Powerful script.
Thank you. It is a hard video to watch but that's what Xenoblade 3 deserves. At least in my estimations. Takahashi san wanted us to feel these emotions and move forward hand in hand with the people who are close to us. Nietzsche's worldview is the key to understanding Xenoblade 3. I hope I was able to do it justice.

@@lightningmonky7674 For me, it was Joel on the verge of tears responding with “….I’d like that.” I was alone in my living room, in the middle of the night. And when he uttered that response, I didn’t sob. My eyes just silently flowed tears down my face with zero resistance from me. And those tears continued to flow as I sat there frozen in place, up until the moment the credits finished rolling. I was in emotional shock for the next several days. When my wife finally played both games a couple of years later, and she eventually reached this very same part, she cried SO HARD, that she had to shut herself in the bathroom for 10-15 minutes. When she came out of the bathroom, it still took her another twenty minutes of crying so hard that she literally couldn’t speak through the tears. And even after that, when she was finally able to speak in a very broken manner, it took her another thirty minutes before she could quit crying completely. When my best friend finished the game, he immediately called me up and was trying to form the words to express himself, but all he could get out through the tears was “that… that ending man… I mean… I just…. I mean….” This game is truly something special. To people like Ontos, and my best friend, and my wife, this was more than just a story. It was a perfectly crafted narrative experience. Not everyone has to feel the same way, but people like us will defend this game from any biased/unfair criticism to our dying day.
Nightreign probably isn't it for 2025. LoP DLC and Wilds are very likely to easily overshadow it in terms of delivering a tight gameplay experience (Wilds will likely be a GOTY contender, even if drowned in performance woes). It's very hard to be steadily excited about this game. Sometimes I wonder if they can manage 3-player balance, other times I just assume they can't because they've given no indication of having that expertise, whatsoever. Sometimes I wonder if solo players are truly the ones who will see Nightreign shine, other times I wonder what's the point of focusing on multiplayer elements just so the playerbase can skim them (at best) and go back to a solo experience. If the 3-headed wolf is a 1-headed wolf while solo, is this superior or inferior design? Are PC challenge runners gonna mod every 3-man boss into their solo runs just so their experience is as hard as possible without modding any other game parameter? Like, what is this game, really... In all likelihood, it's day 1 purchase anyhow, because why not find out for myself.
@@kimlee6643 Yes. Both Wilds and LoP dlc will be the highlights of 2025 but I personally feel the most excited still for Nightreign which might sound like some Fromsoftware ass licking but I've literally been hoping these past 3 months for a way to more easily replay the game. Something that I can engage myself with without having level 1 save files of bosses in a folder. The sort of endurance you'd need to push through 3 nights solo is a very interesting challenge even if on somewhat high vigor. If for some reason it feels easy (which I highly doubt it would solo) I can always do as you say mod the game for 3 player scaling and choose consciously to not level vigor. I think for PC players, all challenge runners will be strained and will be forced to get good. Very excited not just for these new bosses but how ds3 2 and 1 will also get adjusted. They can all feel like a new experience now. Im trying to finish Mass effect 3 before Wilds comes out. Excited to see what Capcom cooked.

I plan to release gameplay videos for sure. Very excited
My understanding is that Miyazaki isn't asking anything of us at all in regards to Nightreign. He's completely uninvolved.
I've watched this video twice now, and I still can't find the words to adequately express how brilliant and beautiful it was. But I'll try. Upon my first play-through, I immediately recognized TLOU2 as a master class in perspective-taking. But it's so much more than that, and you expounded upon every last detail of this perfectly crafted story. I think I wept at least 17 times while I was watching this video (in the best way possible). Thank you for sharing this, and I look forward to your future videos. Subscribed!
@@0451Free_Val I have to be honest here. I made this 2 hour video (the hardest video I've ever made probably) because I was frustrated with the existing "critiques" of tLou part 2. Constantly skipping over scenes and dialogues to pigeonhole the experience into simple shapes. Glossing over characters like Owen, Dina and yes even Mel let alone Abby and Lev. I'm very happy to hear the analysis dug out something deep within Neil Druckmann's magnum opus and made you emotionally moved. As the narrator, editor and script writer all, even I got emotional watching it again recently. I attribute it to Neil and his team at Naughty Dog who put so much time and effort into making this. Taking all the risks to teach us how beautiful video games as an art form can be both on a gameplay level and also narrative. Much love. And have a great day
