    Can't wait for you to experience Xenoblade X! The gameplay is probably some of the best in the Xeno series, story on the other hand doesn't live up to the Klaus games as much but the world building and lore is fantastic! I can't wait to jump into Xenosaga next year!! I need a bit of a Xeno break after replaying DE, finishing off X, and playing through Gears this year haha

      What did you think about the Xenogears? I didn't mention it in this video but I loved that as well. Very close to Xenosaga level for me. I even loved the 2nd part where it was more of a visual novel. It made the narrative concentrated which is something I actually prefer. The story kicked into overdrive mode here which I enjoyed.
      I plan to replay it after I release some Xenosaga lore videos soon. I'm currently going through Japanese only outer files episodes of Xenosaga in preparation for some videos.

      @@Ontos99 Xenogears is one of my favorite games of all time! Only reason it doesn't beat out the Klaus trilogy is because of the presentation. If we get a remake with everything I want in it, it has the chance to beat out Ocarina of Time as my favorite video game of all time. The story is nothing like I've ever experienced and I still think about it every single day 👌🏽🙏🏽

      Xenogears id a masterpiece and X is trash. Even the devs came out and APOLOGIZED for how terrible the story was in X. It’s bloated and story is locked behind stupid inorganic tasks that are needlessly frustrating.
      It adds nothing but the current Xenoblade game engine.
      And if you think X is ever coming out of WiiU jail? You’re mad. It’s not happening. It’s their admitted blemish on their series.
      Let it go. You’ll be so disappointed anyways considering you love all the stories of all the others. There is barely a story. They aren’t related to the other games. It is what it is.

    Great video. Whatever Takahashi is working on right now is far and away my most exciting upcoming piece of media. The way Future Redeemed pulled (possibly) everything together was great. When it dawned on my that Xenoblade 1, 2 and 3 was really the saga of Lost Jerusalem and how perfectly that made sense, I was just in awe. I am really rooting for Takahashi and hope that he will manage to tell the story he wants to tell to completion. Listening to the lyrics of Future Awaits, I felt that they work on an in-game level, with anxiety and uncertainty being major themes of Xenoblade 3 in particular, but they also gave me the impression that we're listening to Takahashi (or maybe the whole development team) overcoming the doubts he has in his artistic future, and he's sharing what he has learned about life with us in the process. I have to say, the credits of Future Redeemed are among my favorites of all time, perhaps only rivalled by those of NieR: Automata. Oh, and I also 100% agree that Xenoblade 2 is criminally underrated. I'm personally not the biggest fan of its gameplay, but the story is so beautiful and emotionally rich that it is my favorite in the trilogy.

    With the 25th Anniversary video and its possible implications, it's definitely becoming more obvious that I really should try out Xenosaga sometime soon! I haven't seen much of Soma Bringer before but I'm curious about that too now.

    I found out about Xenoblade from Shulk in Smash.
    When Xenoblade 3 came out, I became curious about the series, so I ended up watching all of 3's cutscenes on UA-cam.
    Then, about half a year later, I bought the game. It was my first JRPG and I wanted to see whether I liked the gameplay and the genre. I did. Maybe it's not my favourite game in terms of gameplay (I think that goes to Nier Automata, which also has a great story), but it is in terms of story.
    I also knew major plot points of XC2 and 1, so the whole Klaus thing wasn't totally new to me.
    Earlier this year I played FR. Not the best order, I know, but as I said I already knew the overall lore about the worlds. It's really good, I love the characters (Matthew and A's dynamic is fun. Glimmer and Nikol got the short end of the stick unfortunately. They managed to make N an even better character).
    A few months ago I bought XC2, and I'm currently playing its NG+. I liked it, but 3 is still my favourite (more philosophical thoughts and profound themes about life and death). I feel like I still have to master 2's combat, which is more complex than 3's (there are some things I don't like about it... The blade system isn't that great imo, and the fact that the party gauge is for both reviving teammates and Chain Attacks discourages me from doing Chain Attacks). I think the criticism, that is often seen online, that it gets by some people, is exaggerated (it does have cringe parts and questionable character designs, but I expected worse).
    After playing 2 I now get some references in 3 and FR (like the locations).
    I want to play 1, obviously. I'm also interested in X and Xenogears/Saga, and I hope they'll all get remastered sooner or later... I think there's some chunky lore to discover there.
    Also the Xenoblade games are technological miracles considering the hardware they're on (how the heck did they manage to fit XC1 on the 3DS?!). They look good for Switch games, and holy shit who knows what they'll be able to do with a better hardware (graphics aren't the most important thing but it's still welcome and appreciated if they look even better).
    Mio best character.

    Xenosaga was their second attempt to do Perfect Works which failed, then Xenoblade is the one where it actually worked, it ends in the exact same point as Saga with humanity returning to Lost Jerusalem.
    The original plan for Xenosaga was that after Xenosaga 2 it would be a story about KOS MOS on different ages (P.S: XS3 is what XS2 was supposed to be), and actually Xenosaga 3 has pretty much the same themes as Xenoblade 3(Wilhelm is literally Z and his plan is about preventing the universe's death by restarting story over and over again), Testaments are Moebius, Kevin is N but less sympathetic and both games are about accepting the uncertainty of path even if it is scary.
    As someone that is heavy on the Xenosaga copium, i wonder if connecting it to the other games wouldn't be kinda redundant or if it would go against the message of growing beyond Perfect Works and starting a new phase (which would be the Lost Jerusalem phase).
    Although there are evidence in favor of Saga:
    The Salvator faction is the same one from Saga which Dmtri had there and in Xenoblade universe even if it's not the same Dmtri, still it's possible, Vector has been confirmed to exist so probably Wilhelm is also on the Xenoblade universe in some way, Tetsuya Takahashi has mentioned before that if he had budget and a way to do it he'd like to complete Saga's story and now he has the golden opportunity to do so, ever since XC2 there was mentions of the Salvator faction which shows that this was thought out long ago, curiously the same game that had KOS MOS and T-ELOS as blades, so i imagine that some sort of collab with Bandai started there.
    KOS MOS is very popular and i could definitively see she at least appearing on the next Xeno games, even if she's a new KOS MOS, considering that the next games will probably not heavy much fanservice from the Klaus Saga to carry on i could imagine KOS MOS being used as a key character on these games(or maybe even some sort of Gynoid that is later revealed to be KOS MOS), the next Saga will talk about Origin due to comments in the Q&A section of the XC3 Artbook and Origin could be used as a device to tie Saga and Blade.
    I don't think that there is much on Saga that would heavily contradict Xenoblade, especially if you consider the vastness of the Xeno universe and the desire of the creator to be able to connect his previous works into each other(Gears unfortunately is ignored due to SE).
    I totally think that the next Saga will either Remake Xenosaga within Xenoblade (something i 100% bet on is that the next game's protagonist will have the surname Uzuki and maybe sibling protagonists of the Uzuki familly to make a reference to Shion and Jin) or it will eventually connect things to Saga and solve the whole issue with U-DO and the heat death of the universe, not only that but i think that X will also be connected into it somehow and probably first than Saga
    The eventual culmination of the next Xenoblade saga will be finally showing the story that Takahashi didn't managed to tell after Saga and Gears' endings and with that he may also try bringing a conclusion to these stories too(or at least for Saga since he can actually do something with it), it will be done in a similar way to how Xenoblade surprised everyone by connecting 1 and 2 with a twist in the ending and later Future Redeemed happening.
    Edit: Another thing i forgot to mention is that i definitively think that Takahashi knows and seeks to pleases the fandom, nothing in my mind makes me think that some of the decisions taken on XC3 and FR weren't influenced by Fandom stuff and after seeing how much demand there is for a connection between Xenosaga and Xenoblade X to the main series, i cannot see why this wouldn't make Tetsuya Takahashi at least consider making a deal with Bandai to make this happen in some way, maybe even remastering the old games and making them be able to gain profit from it (especially considering that KOS-MOS has always been a very marketable character which Bandai used as some sort of mascot).

      You have to keep in mind that XB 1, 2, & 3 all take place somewhere else. Earth was literally phased out of the natural realm making it lost to all in the XS series (hence the name Lost Jerusalem).
      So at the very end of XB 3, we see both worlds join and phase BACK into the natural realm and we then see what is presumably Kos-Mos finally returning to real live earth.
      I’m old and have been with this series every step of the way since the beginning, and I am SUPER excited about what the next assumed trilogy of games will be, and what the new Xeno subtitle will be. Saga is over. Blade is over. So what is the phase going to be called? And who will it star alongside Kos-Mos!?

      @@SnowCoveredKKOne of the important observations in the future redeemed space cutscene is that Bionis and Mechonis form physically within xenosaga's world right before colliding and turning into "earth"
      This is a subtle hint that Origin and Aionios were in a separate dimension to Bionis and Alrest which sets up the explanation for how Z even created this world to begin with.
      Keep in mind that the theory I propose in my metaphysics video was created like a year before Takahashi sans interview was released where he goes on about how Aionios is similar to a virtual like reality.
      There are enough hints in the base game but FR just makes it apparent with the final cutscene.

    You liking the blades and the random gotcha mechanic is one of the hottest takes I've ever heard, you're the only person I've heard say that. For so many, myself included, it was one of the things that held the game back. You can't experience the full game unless you're super lucky with massive time investment and then the overdrive protocols were such a hassle to get, so if you pulled a blade that doesn't fit well with the driver you're screwed unless you wait till Rex becomes a master driver, and then it's just him. (I pulled Electra with Zeke, who already had Pandoria as an electric rare blade) So I respectfully disagree, I think the hero system in 3 was infinitely better, but I'm curious why you like it more, since it's not a common perspective

    • @Ontos99
      @Ontos99  2 місяці тому +1

      Blades have their own skill trees. Personalities you can get to know with their own quests.
      Gatcha mechanic makes each blade you do get exciting and unique to that particular experience. The way you combine the team synergy is unpredictable and more interesting.
      Furthermore, chain attacks don't take 20 mins to complete like in XC3. The orb system is better than this insane long XC3 chains.
      However, I've designed a really fun Soulhacker class my first playthrough and playing underlevelled on Hard mode was seriously challenging.
      I do like XC3's system. Especially changing the characters on the fly does add a level of complexity I enjoy.
      So there is not a 'huge' rift between 2 and 3's battle system. I like them both but 2 slightly edges out. They are both better than first game's combat. But as I said XC1's combat is much better than people give credit for when you play each boss at least 5 levels below thanks to level down mechanic.

    • @reeseseater12
      @reeseseater12 2 місяці тому

      @@Ontos99 so I agree about the skill trees, that did make them more unique and I did like that. The elemental orbs, I also agree is a better mechanic (although not one I consider tied to the blades, just the elemental battle system that was set up, just as the chain attacks for 3 I don't consider a feature of the hero system, although I don't mind how long it took because the music was great and figuring out how to get max TP was fun in its own right too). So we do mostly agree there.
      I just hate gotcha mechanics personally, like I said, you miss out on a lot of the game if you're not investing way more time in it than you really need to, and I also think the hero quest in XC3 actually is more rewarding because you not only earn it but you get an insight into not only the character but those who are also around them too.
      As to the team build, like I said before, you can draw a blade that is completely redundant to the driver that pulled it and maybe you don't use it because of that but you could miss out on a potentially better team. If overdrive protocols were easier to get, but maybe have a restriction of you can only use it once on any blade to balance it, then I would have so much less of a problem. Also, I feel, personally, the ones I got from quest were more memorable.
      We also agree that 1's combat system gets more hate than I believe it should, the fact a story mechanic, seeing the future, was worked into the combat I felt was amazing and so cool. But thanks for sharing your perspective, to each their own and I think it's clear neither of us hates any of the systems, just prefer some aspects over others

    • @Ontos99
      @Ontos99  2 місяці тому +1

      @@reeseseater12 Oh yeah! XC3 has an awesome combat system. I especially value the chain attacks late game since my build strategy relied on soulhacker doing a huge smash attack if I can set up DEF down and similar debuffs properly.
      The game's challenge was better tuned than XC2 imo. The class changes, the arts, the ability to change to any character.
      XC3 has a lot going for it! I like it very close to XC2. I hope Takahashi san keeps going with this system and don't do standard action as tales games.
      This system is so unique and fun when you are especially under levelled. Unlike some people, I LOVE Xeno combat. All three games for different reasons. They all have pros and cons. And that's great. It makes each entry feel unique and special.

      @Ontos99 I felt the gacha was poorly implemented. I really dislike the generic Blades, particularly for cluttering up the menu and forcing you to toss them out to free up space, only to fill your inventory again with more generic ones.
      I would have been more okay with it if it were a story/side quest centric thing with a finite number of pulls, guaranteeing you don't waste hunfreds of hours on it.
