      @@publikuzer902 thank you 😊.... yes you can bank a flat corner . Not drastic but a slight bank. You go about it the same way but with all the corner pieces of track connected plus the straight away section as well on both sides. It's a slow process and make sure your lowest car doesn't have issues of hitting the nose on the track. If the nose hits it will lift the guide and cause your car to deslot of loose a connection of the braid to the rails. Rule of thumb is the wider the corner the greater the bank that can be created. Also when you go to bending your track use a twist style of bend. Not straight across . This helps with the consistency of the banking as well and will help in an even flow to the couture you are creating.

    Hi from South Africa. Love what you do and how you do it. Question; for 1/32 scale, how do you scale your buildings. I have a 12m building, but when I scale it to 1/32, it comes to more than a foot in length, which seems unrealistic (too large) for scaelectric.

    • @BoonesSlotCarGarage
      @BoonesSlotCarGarage 10 днів тому

      @@leondekock9273 thank you 😊... i use a scale calculator app to get the scale i need. Your building comes out to 1.23ft in 1/32 scale. But if that seems too large for your space you can use a little artistic liberty and change it up a bit. Most of the buildings i create are altered in scale some. Unfortunately most of us are limited on the room we have to create are wonderland. The rule of thumb i use is to size it down enough to still give the right effect. It's kinda like trees. A 100 ft tree in 1/32 scale is 37.5 inches. That's just not practical in most applications so we size them down to give the right effect for the room we have. Same thing goes for the buildings. Size your building down enough so it works in your area but still keep your doors and windows at the 1/32 scale. It's a mind twister sometimes trying to make it work . A big thing that helps me is to find a good picture of the building I want to build and use that to be my guide in my building process.

    Lol that's actually the pretty fast way of doing buildings. They're are some modelers that actually cut out tiny individual stones and build like that. Now that is tedious. Good to see you doing the long lines then go in and do your vertical lines. You can use a ball point pen to go over your lines to make them deeper. Then there is washes you do after painting bring out those details. In painting be very careful of the paint you use. Some like spray paints can melt your foam ruining all your work. You can make a nice protective shell by using Mod Podge and some acrylic paint. It can be watered down to thin it out. When it dries it makes the foam very tough and resistant to damage. If you need to make some sills for door frames and windows some cardboad from cereal boxes os chesp and handy. Looks like you know how to make your stonr texture using wadded up tinfoil rolled and pushed down over your foam.

    • @BoonesSlotCarGarage
      @BoonesSlotCarGarage 12 днів тому

      @@AlexBabcock-hw9iz 😆🤣 ya its not my first rodeo ... i have done the individual stones before. Not a fun way of doing it.. this technique is very fast compared to that. Plus the end result is pretty epic. It works great for this style of building. If i was building an old ruin of a diorama for a ww2 scene the individual stones would be the way to go. Or a mix of blending the two techniques together

  • @AlexBabcock-hw9iz
    @AlexBabcock-hw9iz 12 днів тому

    Very cool this is just like doing the modeling for D&D that so many channels do. They've done some incredible buildings including castles and huge cathedrals. One guy did the coliseum of Rome. They also make trees and bushes of every variety you can think of. Interesting how one hobby bleeds over into another. Of that you put two of the sides together before cutting reliefs and texturing. Much easier to do when you can lay them flat to work. You can use small blunt tools to push the foam in in spots if you desire deeper parts then others.

    • @BoonesSlotCarGarage
      @BoonesSlotCarGarage 12 днів тому

      @@AlexBabcock-hw9iz true how hobbies blend together in certain ways. It is easier to create the blocks and manipulate the foam when the parts are laying flat. But unfortunately with this build since i had a certain place i am planning on putting it, I had to build the structure first so I could make adjustments as needed. Thanks for watching
