- Part 3 of the Tunnel Series. In this video I take you through the complete ground cover painting procedure. First starting with the rock surfaces using a complete Acrylic Wash Painting Process that has incredible results and is not that difficult to do. Next I go over painting the base color for the static grass application. And other extra tips and tricks along the way. Also included in this video is a tear and compare of two static grass applicators , a base budget model and the Woodland Scenics Static King….
The long videos are fine by me. When I see a new Boone video and it’s over an hour long I get a warm fuzzy feeling, like when it’s pizza and movie night on Friday, or video game marathon time.

Looks good buddy. This track is gonna blow the last one away. You can do long static grass, then hit it with sim spray glue then hit it again for real tall grass. I like using a little shorter than you then spray Thule and hit again. Works for that really tall wild grass.

Just a few more hours. Oh boy at the 1 hrs n 22 min mark the highline of the cliff reminds me of a few cliffs at Starved Rock State Park here in il.

Hello Mr. Boones, some advice.... I have in my model a mountain that is on the edge of it and when someone rubs, the Join Compound and the painting come off it, any suggestion to apply it and that this does not happen? Thanks
That’s a tough one. You could try putting a layer of pva glue over the top of the joint compound that is coming in contact. But I’m not sure if that would work.

Hi Cal… Ninco is good track , in fact the 24 LeMans race in the UK is raced on Ninco Digital Track … if you have a chance to pick some up for a reasonable price I personally would get it.
