Build a Step input sequencer in Bitwig's Grid 👾
Переглядів 6322 місяці тому
Unfortunately, Bitwig Studio lacks an inherent step input keyboard function. However, the Grid allows us to craft a personalized, intuitive step sequencer tailored to our creative needs. By building our own, we gain precise control over the sequencing process, enabling unique and innovative musical workflows. 0:00 Intro 0:33 Get started, setup the array 2:11 Create a bypass circuit 5:08 Write s...

Without much fanfare, Bitwig released a small new device called an all-pass filter for the Grid. In a nutshell, this allows us to emulate the frequency splitting behavior of nonlinear multi band devices like Vitamin, Pro-C, Saturn or kHz Disperser. The key difference is that we can now apply it on a per voice, and on (almost) oscillator level.This allows us to avoid post ringing, i.e. overlappi...

    If you record this there are a number of 0 length notes that are generated because of the phase. Maybe a clock and a 16th trigger would clean it up?

    • @theRumbleChannel
      @theRumbleChannel 20 днів тому

      Hmm, can't reproduce this. Not sure how you can get 0 length notes unless you set the step length in the arpeggiator to 0, which then skips the note entirely. The note length should only bedetermined by the gate length at the input which the Grid then directly passes to its output without interfering. Maybe you could reset the phase of the scaler on transport start...

    i wish the bitwig devs would stop releasing stuff only for the grid before giving in and making a normal device of it. i'm not going to use the grid if i don't have to. the grid has a slower workflow than devices and plugins in the normal effect chain.

      I definitely understand your point, but everything I do in this video would not be possible, or more complicated outside of the Grid. So that's the justification, not the speed. That being said, I also don't understand why they didn't introduce a standalone version as they did with chorus+, phasor+ and flanger+
