Tip for 303-style waveforms (for 2:33): in the original hardware, the oscillators were high-passed, and so you can recreate the same thing by taking regular waveforms (from Union, for example) and adding the high-pass module at ~80-100 Hz with a 2-pole settings. And for the square wave, set the pulse width to 54% ;) What it does is that by lowering the fundamental in volume, it allows the resonance of the filter to shine more, and when distorting it, the resonance peak is what gets distorted first instead of the fundamental, if that makes sense, which then ends up in the more screaming tones.
Thanks for your insights :). I realised that the waveform was high passed, but I thought that this was baked in to the waveform. But after reading your comment I double checked. You are right, there is literally a high-pass filter after the oscillator. A 4 pole high-pass at 139 Hz gave me pretty similar results.
Oooo that sounds so good! thank you
Very good. I have learned something new.
