I've had a 2013 FRS and also a 2002 Boxster S - I can easily say this. Boxster platform is on a whole other level over GR86 or MK1 FRS/BRZ. It's a true testament to the car 22 years on

Every EJ deserves its own place in this tier. I have EZ30 II gen. Totally reliable engine...my "Poorsche" ;-)

My a20a1 in my old 1989 accord sucked if i had the a2 or a3 would have been so much better

The EZ is the best engine, hands down. They turbo them in Australia at the time. They hold up far better than any EJ. No EJ belongs in the S tier, the EZ does. People have also been transplanting the EZ into older air-cooled Porsches and adding turbos for a long time... you need to do more research. Might Cars Mods has a car named "Gramps" from probably more than 10 years ago now at this point that ran 10s in the quarter with a Turbo EZ.

Not including the Ford 4.6l 2v V8 engines is a crime…

As a bmw fan the m 276 should be at least A tier or even S tier.Also the om 642 is one of the most reliable diesel engines of Mercedes.

The EJ18S that I turbocharged using an IHI VF34 and EJ22T cylinder heads with EJ22E roller rockers produced a maximum of 255whp / 251wtq on the stock shortblock, which is 268% over original hp output of approximately 95whp (FWD). It's 10mm thick cylinder sleeves are stout. Search "Project EJ18T."

So is the ej207 one of the most reliable engines?

I have a ZL1 and don't plan on ever selling it. I love driving it and I think it would be very hard to replace. I sincerely hope that Chevrolet will bring the Camaro back in the future.

well, i'm happy that the m156 is in the c tier. b tier would have also served its purpose but c definitely confirms my doubts based on what I've heard and read. i'm sure it sounds wonderful and even works wonderfully while it's working but i don't think hyping it up too much is a good thing for prospective buyers would don't like taking risks or unpleasant surprises. nice to get some confirmation about the m177 too.

Brudda. Ls2 D tier is absolutely diabolical for harmonic balancer failing. But ls7 which is plagued with cylinder head valves failing due to their hollow design which would literally take out the engine if dropped gets S tier 😭

As to the EZ 3.0 engine these two years (2006 and 2007 had aluminum alloy blocks, forged reciprocating mass (pistons, con rods and crankshaft) an incredibly strong engine….

The EJ22T is in my opinion the best engine we got in the US as it was the only closed deck engine we ever got. The regular EJ22 did not have the closed deck. Subaru has caused themselves numerous head gasket issues by not having closed deck engines. I've had an EA81, EJ22T, and an EZ30. The latter 2 with 300,00 and 250,000 respectively.

As a big fan of European V8 I find it incredibly you out the S65 which knocks out big end bearings every service, but the ground breaking M100 in an A! Surely that can’t be right? However a fantastic informative video with lots of information and research
