I can’t wait till your kitchen is done. It’s just gorgeous. I’m glad you’re feeling better. I suggest this detox bath that is amazing and helps you recover quicker. 2 cups of sea salt, 2 cups of baking soda and one cup of borax. Get the bath hot enough to open your skins pours, stay in the bath for a minimum of 30 minutes and soak. Take a small towel and get it wet and put it on your chest baths pull out even more toxins if you have the time stay in for 40 12:55 hour rinse your skin off when you’re finished be careful , this can make the tub slick. After you’re done use a magnesium spray or a magnesium lotion. I’m sure you grow thyme and oregano, which is a very good tea to drink, as well as Mullen flower leaf tea.

Hi, I've just rediscovered your channel and find myself at a similar point to yourselves with my kitchen renovation. We are complete DIYers not a skilled a carpenter like yourself. We just wondered what if any was the reason behind the choice made with the worktop around the sink. Is there an intentional reason for not installing one continuous piece of worktop rather than the three joining pieces you have here. Many thanks in advance for your time and really enjoying revisiting your channel

Hi Naomi it was the sink and plumbing that dictated it for me but both ways will work remember wooden work tops are made up and glued together so it all ends up a solid length in the end butler sink areas are always a bit of a problem solver but we are all done there now and Tracy is using the sink with cold and hot running water thanks for your question hope this helps

Hello Tracy and Budo Happy New Year to you and yours. Welcome back you have been missed. You got me with the whole filling. I have actually seen somebody do that with bog filler to fill in a whole in a door oddly enough. May 2025 bring us great things and that you have a happy and healthy year ahead. Hopefully the weather will get a little bit better here in France though this week we have a forecast for wet all week. Hi Tracy and Budo, the opening shots were just beautiful, good job on the filming. The perfection of the beading is amazing. A lot of people have custom kitchens but not made with their own hands. Your work is second to none and better than any manufactured piece. Tracy your gardens are the best, I absolutely love them, still producing this late in the season. A little extra protection on the Lavender will go a long way come spring, especially now with this storm. i did hear the explosion and thought the same thing, that it was thunder in the middle of a snowstorm. Please the three of you stay warm until help arrives. I think you should have a generator, considering sometimes help can't get there quickly. Love from N.Y.

Kitchens can be quite bare, so I personally love having a little rag by the sink to have nice feel while I work by the sink and on the window I would put very short voile valance, which would not obstruct or block the view but soften the feel of the space. They now have loads of colours and feelings like muslin and such, so can look cool. I have white with a pale green stripe and it looks good 😊

An idea for you might be to run a wire (next time you do a trench) between the kitchen and workshop for an intercom. That way the house can talk with the shop without shouting, running out in nasty weather, etc. Love the cabinets and can't wait to see the finished room. One question is after the kitchen tiles are installed will there still be comfortable headroom at the original doorway?

I was hoping you'd show us how to make a patch in wood. I have a 110 year old door frame with holes from multiple locks. Rebuilding the door frame is out of the question because it's American Chestnut that will be varnished and it's basically impossible to find as the forests were wiped out by a blight in the 1910s. A restoration carpenter friend filled it with wood filler and it look awful. I am thinking about going back and cutting a hole (round) and a plug from scrap chestnut. Obviously in your situation, replacing the board is better, but I would have loved to see how to do the repair. Sometimes this is necessary in antique furniture or architectural restoration. You definitely did the right thing for your situation and it's beautiful. But if you are ever in a situaiton where you need to make a patch, I'd love to see how you do it.

Hi there thank you some times patching things to perfection and not to be seen is difficult some times its best to show the wooden patch by using a contrasting wood and say making it into what we call a butter fly patch but it all depends ill try a do some thing in the future to show what i mean all the best Budo

When you said about making the hole disappear, I thought "new piece of timber" but the Hocus Pocus label made me certain... Sticking putty in the tap hole was a bit like" The Quatermass experiment" .The other tap with spring thing is on my son's sink... Could never get my head round it.... The original farmhouse model was a stinker and I had to replace countless ones (normally in a faded bronze tint) but they are now reliable and do not leak from top joint. They look much better than the ultra modern job and I have found them with the sprayer not being used! Tracey, Keep yer needles sharp for another job and enjoy the view. Happy and healthy new year .
