Dearest Tracy and Budo, the excitement is growing SO much episode by episode as you close in on the completion of the dining room and the kitchen with PERFECTION!!! Tracy the day you first make a meal in your GLORIOUS kitchen is the day we will all pop a bottle of champagne with you🎉 🩷🧡💛💚🩵💙
Hilda Ogden was looking forward to your muriel 😂😂 The paneling is lovely and what a genius solution to accessing the pipes behind, is there no end to your talents, by far your renovation is my favourite one on UA-cam, love and blessings to you both x
Wow, you really are a master of many talents. I loved the plastering work, it reminds me of home. Everything you both touch turns in to a masterpiece, impressive. What a great team! thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
Such a great idea using french cleats on the back of the paneling! Hopefully you will never need to remove it for a plumbing disaster and only for maintenance. The white primer on the fireplace really brings out the fact that the diamond is indeed stacked, really couldn't tell when it was brown. Great job on all you have accomplished both rooms are going to look fabulous (and can't wait to see the mural)!
You'll have to make a notebook for where the water & electrical all runs, etc., and keep it somewhere it can stay and future tradesmen can find these things to repair them without ruining your beautiful carpentry. I keep a binder with when work was done on my house, when the HVAC or roof was last replaced with relevant notes, etc., along with big appliance manuals. My next goal is to map out the perennials and trees I've put in the garden so the next owners will know what comes blooming in the spring. I'm years from moving, but I'll forget if I don't do it while I can still remember.
Love the secret wall panelling what a brilliant idea Budo makes so much sense. Awesome Monastic dining table the grandkids could jump up and down on it and nothing will happen. Nice idea painting the fireplace and it’s coordinating with the wallpaper. Also the marble with gold flecks in that central shape will be amazing
After seeing what you've done with the rest of the house (cabinets, raised panels, restored antiques, wallpaper, etc.), it really doesn't matter what you call it, I'm convinced the new "wall treatment" will be exquisite. Eager to see the original kitchen emerge as a wondrous dining room and the chandelier sparkling in the new kitchen extension; illuminating the beautiful cabinets and counters. Such a lovely work of art is your home.
What about putting some beautiful tiles up there?? All the work you’ve done is truly amazing!! 😻 your wife must be so proud Stephanie Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA 🇺🇸
@@FrenchFarmhouseDiaries thanks for the reply!!! I too have someone amazing who knows a little bit about everything and definitely not afraid to get things done!!! Love your videos and your man is an amazing woodworker!!!
Love the paneling and the sneak peak of the kitchen starting 2 come together now ,love the table bet that cost a few quid but knowing u budo u got it for a steel lol
Working with lime might not be your"thang" Budo, but you managed to apply it like you were frosting a cake. Tracy was wise to use shellac primer. My late father would always say, "When in doubt, give it a good shellacking."
We will tease you more now, "Muriel." As always, awesome work. The fox gloves and ferns are beautiful . Great job on the fireplace so far. I love that table so much.❤
Oh you guys are so cute….little talking glitches build your views and comments and viewers interactions so it’s so perfect. And yes grands was Muriel! Cannot wait to see what image you guys chose for this room. It’s so amazing to see such craftsmanship week after week and you guys just really see, like such nice people. Keep having fun Muriel’s and all.
It’s looking fabulous, I’m glad Muriel is now Mural 😂 bless him my husband gets it mixed up too, easy done, but it made me chuckle love love love ❤️ watching everything you’re doing xx
You might not have known it was a mural and not a Murial but I have been in the building trade for forty odd years your work is fantastic if you were still in England in the construction industry and younger you would make a mint with the prices people are charging now.well done
Thanks Fredrick and I know what you mean I can get work there tomorrow on just a day rate there offering starting wages £500 per day or £2500 per week with expenses it's only going to get more expensive to get good trades in as the government in the UK 🇬🇧 has stopped training properly since Blair the night mere came to power easier to import cheap labour and rule by diversity 😀 😄 👍🏻
Thank you for showing us your knowledge and skills. I have an old farmhouse in France but little money to spend on it when I retire next year. Just dreaming of repointing the old stone with lime one day. Bon Chance as they say. Beautiful work!
I really like the paneling, the plastering is coming along nicely and the fireplace is going to be great! Regarding the soon-to-appear wall covering, I knew Budo wasn't talking about a brand of cigars or my late father's elderly cousin down in Arizona. We colonials sometimes pronounce the King's English differently than you folks from the Sceptered Isle, but now I know for sure there's just one pronunciation of "mural."
Hi Kathy we are fine thank you just had a little break from UA-cam as we are not growing on there and not enough people are liking or sharing which is knocking us down on there and stopping us growing we put a lot of effort in to UA-cam for very little pay back so we are going to slow down making videos for a while but we do have some good news as we are being filmed for main stream TV for a new series next year 😊 xx
@@FrenchFarmhouseDiaries Happy to hear you are both ok. Sorry about the lack of followers. Yours is truly one of the Best out there! Wish I could help more but I will try to recommend you when possible. I did that before but someone took my comment down. Glad to hear about the TV shot! Take care. ❤️❤️❤️
I enjoy your channel very much. Budo I hope you are using sunscreen when you’re working out in the sun and you should have a hat to cover your head. Tracy, I am wondering what meal you will be preparing to celebrate the finished kitchen. Take care of each other and God bless you both.✌🏻❤️🙏🏻🇺🇸
So love your use of lime mix. So respectful and great role modelling for anyone working with older buildings. I have heard your advice being mentioned in other podcasts.

Don't you start please I'll never live the last one down lol all the best Budo
@FrenchFarmhouseDiaries 👍 Mr.Bloke says you are the man to talk to about bee keeping?
Is plaster the same as stucco?
Hi there its not the same as modern plaster it's a traditional lime putty plaster. Thankbyou for watching xx 😘
My son tells me it's commonplace for builders to hide something in the walls with the names of those who worked on the project. Do you plan the same?
Hi Susan I only put my name and date on joinery I make so in this case yes and thank 😊
I’m sorry Tracey but your murals are to be Budo’s muriels for the rest of time.😉
Thank you Mary 😊 please don't remind her 🙏 lol 😀 😆
Waste of time, nothing is secret now because we all know.
But now you 😆 🤣
