At 9'30" you mention sitting on the balconies watching the sunset--unfortunately they all face EAST.

I remember visiting Hastings about 20yrs back now. Some of the streets away from the front and tourist traps, were pretty run down. Looks like it's tidied up.

Winterton will always have a special corner of my heart. Moved here in 1983 in a thatched house opposite the Fishermans return. It wasnt as friendly back then, new folk were not accepted easily. However I loved the village. Still in Norfolk , its wonderful x ❤

Hi Jack. We live in Ashford but Wye is the best village in Kent. You should visit the Farmers Market, every first and third Saturday of the month. The Flying Horse is literally our favourite pub, nickname " The Fly". Especially in winter sitting next to the open fire. The Joshan indian is fab as well.The village was nearly bulldozed in early 2000s...a group saved it. And a guy called David Hewson spearheaded it. Read " Saved " by him. Great video Jack. Thank you for this video, we love st Leonard's. You should check out Bexhill too. It's a lovely walk or bicycle from where you finished with great views and even dinosaur footprints and the remains of a shipwreck. (Visible at low tide).

How interesting. We used to spend days and days on the Ranges at Hythe back in the 70s and never once went in to the town, what a shame it looks lovely.

I like the tip of giving the tip on where to park, Broadstairs within the Isle of Thanet is one of the best coastal towns, don't get me wrong, Ramsgate and Margate are also good.

Did you know the level crossing used to be a manual one up till 2022?? I used to deliver to the Surgery and chemist and crossing was horrendous.. If you timed it wrong you could be stuck for what seemed like forever!!!

I have to disagree about Ramsgate it used to be a highly regarded place to visit, I lived there for 12 years and when I moved there it was a vibrant little town to be in, unfortunately there’s a dark underbelly around the town centre because of the drug and alcohol addicts frequenting around the shopping area, I moved further down the coast where it’s a bit cleaner and less crowded, I must say that the Brassiere at end of the harbour is a very pleasant restaurant, where you said is industrial just a little further is another beach usually frequented by wind/kite surfers which is fine but it’s usually debris infested during the summer months by illegal campers, such a shame that it has declined so much and it has so much crime.

You really should go to the jewel in Medways crown. Chatham high street.

I lived in Chartham, between Chilham and Canterbury, for over a decade, so I know the place fairly well. Badgers Hill is a great place to introduce kids to animals and vice versa.

No where good as it used to be. Lived in Rochester for some years, moved on now. There was many more antique shops, art shops and no fast food joints. No banks here now. Dodgy place at night now too.

13:21 you probably didn't realise but that tunnel was the last journey on land made by Lord Nelson as he approached his launch to take him to HMS Victory in 1805. I'm Portsmouth born and bred, so am fully qualified to assess. Most of it now is a dump. Everyone posts videos and pictures of Southsea which is about 10% of the Island. The shopping centres (apart from Gunwharf which is surprise surprise… in Southsea) are abandoned, boarded up and covered in graffiti. Go visit the middle of Portsmouth, North End and Commercial Rd and you'll have a different view. It's not me hating on my old city, it's me hating on what it's become. The City Council should be ashamed, but they plough any money into the University and the Tourist areas. (i.e. Southsea)

Used to live in Rochester, but l have now moved over the river to Strood... The castle and the Cathedral are the view from my bedroom window. I love the history and atmosphere in Rochester.

Missed the coopers arms pub , just up past castle . Really old with low beamed ceiling & a statue of a monk in a glass case , rumour to commemorate a monk body found in cellar was what i was told . Cosiest traditional pub I’ve been in Rochester.

You missed the pup cup.. dog boutique, groomers and cafe. Up past the chequers

Strange but amazing place, fascinating. Really interesting. And to think there is Portsmouth and isle of Wight. Attractive.

If I didn't already live in rochester. After you dipping your toe into rochester, id be moving there. There is alot more to rochester. We have some talented artist, Dameon Priestly is first to hand and some great musicians, JTQ.
