Hello Jack I’ve just found your channel, Hunstanton was local to us and until May 1969 we used to catch the train to Sunny Hunny the station was where the car park is and as you got off the train you could look over and see the pier, Great days.
Thank you for your video Jack and for taking me down memory lane. I lived in Hunstanton for 9years from 1991- 2000. You are right it’s a lovely place to visit. In the winter it can be very bleak and cold with the east winds and grey skies. Hunstanton is one of the places you can see a sunrise and sunset …bit complicating to explain! The fruit and veg shop you mentioned was The Corner House tea room and a fresh bakery that was all baked at Heacham not far away, baked by a Master Baker Mr Mayer. Beautiful bread and cakes that you could sit and enjoy in their tea room …I know as I used to work there . I used to love it, especially when the season began and holiday makers queued for bread and a sit down, all happy smiley holidaymakers! I could talk about Hunstanton for ages but I don’t want to bore you 😁 it’s a great place and it hasn’t changed much since I lived there. Thanks again 👍😊
Thanks very much Sandra for your lovely comment, I love hearing about other people’s memories . I think it’s the fact that it’s hardly changed since you lived there that makes me like it more, and I can imagine I’d love walking down the seafront even in the bleak winter! Thanks again
Although you weren't there in the evening, Hunstanton has the most amazing sunsets. It's the only resort on the East coast where the sun sets (and sinks) into the sea. This is because Hunstanton is on the tip of The Wash and facing west.
Hunstanton is my favourite seaside, it's a completely different pace of life. The pier did go out a lot further but it was damaged by storms. I was looking up the history of the pier after my very first visit and Deaf Havana popped up, so that introduced me to them, I've been hooked ever since. Glad you liked it there.
Really concerned that the Bean To Cup didn't happen - the construction work opposite what were the world's smelliest toilets was the Kit Kat club, sadly it burnt down but remember Mum drinking Top Deck and me 7 up and scampi fries and watching what seemed good entertainment at the Time, where the golf was I remember being embarrassed that Mum got asked to leave after eating our own sandwiches under the table, and the arcade you went to had Thomas's Revolving Bingo, which often got turned into Revolting, famous they were for Friday night is party night, and the joke shop is awesome, very much look forward to returning to Sunny Hunny in September after a trip to Skeggy, is that on your cards too, it is so close by water but a fairly long drive, great video nicely shot and just full of laughs cheers
Ha ha to tell the truth Kevin I got a Starbucks coffee at services on the way there 😰thanks v much , love hearing others memories from these places. Sad to see Kit Kat club turning into flats though !
Hi Jack! Great vlog, Hunstanton looks amazing from what it is on the sea coats and having a boat tour on the sea. It's good to see that lots of places becoming pet friendly.
Thank you Jack. That looks like somewhere l would have taken Bee when she was a baby. Loved the boat trip too. I hope the cute woofer had a drinkie as well. Amazing joke shop too. 😮
@@jackryanmiller nice... I'm seeing them (You Me At Six) again next year on their final tour. I'd like to try out Slam Dunk festival but not sure if it's on for 2025?
Nice video, Hunny is great, the sea’s starting to warm (August) and is at it’s hottest around October. There’s 40 varieties of shark around the Norfolk coast but don’t know of any attacks.
Love the place. Old Hunstanton is lovely nothing there much but lovely. You should go to Southwold home of Adnams beer. Felexstow is lovely the gardens on the front very Edwardian. It has been on a bit of a low eb but is on the way up again
I was just working up near Skegness, on the other side of The Wash. You could see Hunstanton, not far away on the horizon...fish and chips is cheaper there, I paid 7.95 for haddock, chips and peas 👍
Hunstanton is usually warmer than the north-facing beaches and I ride out that way several times a year. You must have visited mid-week as there's usually a lot of bikes along the front of the green and a lot of cars on the roads. Google pronounces it Hunston on satnav.
I’ve warmed to this channel after seeing Jack visit my home town recently (Leigh-on-Sea) and one of my preferred holiday locations (Menorca). I now challenge you, Jack, to visit Canvey Island and make it NOT look like a shithole.🤔😅😉✌️
Please don’t forget to hit the thumbs up button above everyone as it will really help me out! 🎉 and don’t forget to subscribe if you’re not already 😊

Thanks so much, I would have loved to see it in the 60s!

Just found this vlogg, the pier use to be bigger but got washed away. Old Hunstanton beach is beautiful. One of Norfolk hidden gems
Thanks very much Simon
Love the dog parasol, glad he got his sea legs. Another good one Wash Monster Jack.
Ha ha thanks very much John, precisely why we brought the umbrella, for the pooch 😅🌞
I’ve only ever been to Old Hunstanton.. it’s so beautiful! You missed the biggest secret …
I’m gutted I didn’t go as far as Old Hunstanton! Next time definitely

That sounds fantastic, would love to check it out next time I’m down

Thanks so much for your comment and it’s great to come across a fellow Deaf Havana fan ha ha 😄
I absolutely loved watching this entertaining video. Thank you, Jack!
Thanks so much 🥹

Thanks mate, this was an excellent place to take the pooch 🐶

Awww thanks so much! Ha ha the woofer was indeed spoilt all day with all the drinks, he even had his own sun brolly 😂
I bet he was!!!
The roads might have been quiet, but you should try driving up there on a Bank Holiday!
Aha I can really imagine !
thank you so much was my home town 50 years ago was lovley to see
Amazing, I hope it brought back some memories
Yes, I've heard of Deaf Havana... I saw them supporting You Me At Six at the UEA LCR earlier this year! Great band ❤
Yasss finally someone knows them! You me at six are great too, saw them at Slam Dunk festival a few months ago 😄
@@jackryanmiller nice... I'm seeing them (You Me At Six) again next year on their final tour. I'd like to try out Slam Dunk festival but not sure if it's on for 2025?
On Sundays all the bikers meet up on the green & sea front, a good sight to see on their Harley Davidsons & various other bikes!
Oooh it’s funny you say that, I did notice a few motorbikes on the front by the pier when I visited 😄
There is only one pub in Hunstanton - the Neptune in Old Hunstanton. All the others are hotels. Leaving out Old Hunny is a mistake!!!
I’ll be back for Old Hunstanton for sure 😃
Family been holidaying there for 50 odd years. Family keep caravans too but three miles away ❤
Love it !
At 12:13 what on earth is that poor blue thing?? One other question, were they real bananas as prizes or plastic? Amazing place. 🎉. Cute dog.
Ha ha I think it’s some local art, model elephants 😂😂they were definitely cuddly toy bananas, more expensive than the food 😂

Hi thanks so much! That’s terrifying about the sharks - there was me thinking about going for a swim next time 🫣
the pier burnt down years ago sadly. did used to ho out to sea. heritage centre open for more info.
Ah yeh I just looked it up that’s so sad!
It was actually swept away in a violent storm in January 1978. What was left became a large amusement arcade which burnt down in 2002.
I just came home from there today ✨✨
Hope you had a great time !

Thanks very much, those recommendations are great and I’ll be visiting Felixstowe very soon actually

Ah nice one! I really want to get down to Skegness asap , I’ve not been in years
Don't know if you've already been there, but if not, Cromer Pier is a "proper" pier :)
I haven’t been there but I’m hearing some very good things so will have to check it out! Thanks
Nice video.
Thank you my friend

Ah that’s right this was just before the school holidays started so I was pretty lucky with the crowds!
This was very recent also the roof terrace is my fav place in Hunstanton
I love that roof terrace!

Cheers Raymond and I will accept that challenge and try to get there before end of summer 🫡
Aww, this is where I'm from. Always call it home even though I moved away many years ago. You can't take the Norfolk out of the boi! 😊 🦭🏖️
Love it!
roars can be hell in summer mainly Fridays & Sundays good for bikers as local spot on sea front.
I did see a lot of bikers by the pier actually !
Chives wine bar & brasserie, on the High Street.
Noted for next time !
if you live around here its Hunston or Hunny.
Oh yes and sunny Hunny my favourite
Sunny Hunny! ☀️
Another hill there for Barry from Easterners to roll down 😂😂😂
Ha ha you know it ! I’m sure there’s at least one more recent video where I mention Barry again 🤣
Just go for a swim when you need facilities 🤷♀️ isn’t that a rule 😂😅
Ha ha yes that’s true, even if you do forget your swimming costume like I did
