The singing always gets me 😂 love the vids bro
Please don’t sing!
Thanks for the help gonna use a vernier to mirror my pickup height before reassembly ....
Three words. -Retractable extension cords-. Thank me later.
Crap. Just watched this after UA-cam suggested, was like cool I’ll have to watch when he puts out more vids, looks like I have some catching up to do!
Mine only had one working horn when I got it and not it doesn't work at all. I need to check the connector under the horn ring as well as under the dash because we had the brake and cluth pedal loose when I replaced the brake master. Hopefully just a loose wire on mine. Yes, your sounds like a wounded animal. It's kind of funny in a way but I know it needs to be fixed.
If you want to keep Halogen Headlights I have them on my F100 and waiting for my 65 Mustang are the Scott Drake FoMoCo logo headlights. They are halogen but use less waitage than the auto store replacement that you bought at Advance which use more power than the old school tungsten from before Halogen. Remember unless you put in a headlight hardness to bypass the the light circuit with relays that on these old cars all the lighting power draw runs through the headlight switch.
So I will have to use an additional wiring harness in order to use the halogen headlights? Any recommendations? Thanks!
@@VanHoutenBuilds I will have to look up the video as I last researched this back in 2017 after I got my 69 F100. There is a plug and play harness you can get that can be hidden that uses a add on relay to pull the headlight power from the battery the way moden cars do. I didn't feel like doing that so I went with the Scott Drake Hallogen that don't pull as much power. I see them a lot at car shows plus the are really cool with the FoMoCo in the glass. I prefer the old school color of the headlights. I know recently Holly came out with their Retro Brights and offer them in three colors one of them being the Tungsten color that looks like the old bulbs but way brighter.
That is a bummer on the soft clear coat for sure.
I admire your tenacity and ability but dude you should have changed the WHOLE DOOR SKIN. Put the welds only on the perimeter where it wont warp. Ive been doing body work for 40 years. Bigger panels equal less bondo.
Absolutely, you're totally right. I had no idea as it was my first time attempting body work of any kind. Next time I would definitely replace the whole door skin. Thanks for watching!
Where is the rest of the videos on this bike?
That interior is gorgeous. Keep at it. I’m still at the finding corrosion stage of my Mustang restoration. Learning as I go.
Thanks so much! Good luck with your restoration, stick with it!
That's why paint booths have the system to pull the air out of the booth so that dot happen. For garage job looks great to me.
Looks good. That does look like dry clear spray on top. After cut and buff you shouldn't see that much.
came for the mustang, stayed for the random singing 🤣🤘🏻
🙏
Is there a specific kind of vinegar to use with the steel wool?
Distilled white vinegar
@ okay great! I put the vinegar and steel wool in a jar, am I missing a step?
@@elgloom3732 Just leave the jar open to the air for a couple of days and check it periodically. It will start to change
Fantastic job. How did you learn all these skills (panel beating, painting, mechanic, auto-electrician)?
Thanks! No, I work in marketing. I've just always been able to look at something and figure out what to do or how to do it. It's not always perfect, but sometimes I get lucky and it works out haha. Other people's UA-cam videos and forums can also be a good resource!
where they the screws that were provided or that you had? just curious on why they would supply screws that were so long if they were what came with it.
Great question! So they were the screws that were provided, but I had to drill new holes into my aftermarket hood. I think the hood was the issue as the holes that were already there were too far back. I should have drilled the new holes a little bit further back.
Awesome video and great music choice!
These things were everywhere in the 70's. Usually for $20 or $30. I never picked one up. Wish I had.
What size steering wheel is that do you have the link for it? TIA
It's this one! www.cjponyparts.com/cj-classics-steering-wheel-kit-wood-grain-14-3-bolt-3-hole-spokes-mustang-1965-1967/p/STW125K1/
@ Thank you so much! It’s ordered
Love the Dove soap tip - my grandfather taught me that when I was a kid. I’ve kept a bar of soap on my workbench ever since. Great tutorials on making a custom pick guard - watched both vids, very helpful. Thanks! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I like to install the headliner before the window channel seal. But to each their own. Interior looks great. When I was a Volvo tech we called those mini crowbars, "bone tools" lol
Check your brake harness that goes to the brake lines, check the switch things can always come bad from the factory. Also check your fuse box for any blown fuese. Replace them all. Also make sure you have a solid ground in the back tail light panel. If your liscense plate light is turning on then you have a good ground and the wiring harness is good. The brake light switch/turn signal switch can also be bad which is the little circle thing that operates the blinkers
I've got replacements for everything, just in case haha. Only thing not working now is the brake pedal switch, so I'm going to replace that as well!
they make a metal divider that goes between the trunk and passenger compartment, It helps keep the gas tank out of the passenger compartment incase of a rear end collision.
Yeah I'm planning to add one in!
It is easier to work underneath the dash with Drivers seat removed
Definitely, I need to remove them again b/c I'm going to reupholster them. Just need to put my shop together so I have the room to put stuff outside of the car.
Dude, the hood screws! Ugh, we have the same sort of luck. I'd be throwing tools and droppin F bombs until my voice gave out but you just calmly respond with a "well, that sucks" 😃 Awesome stuff. I also bought exact same door weatherstripping as you, nice to have this video as a reference when I finally go to install them. I'm gonna be disappointed when you finish, really enjoying these videos. I'll ship you my car so you can start all over again 🤣 Great work man!
When I'm finished, I'll just start on the next project! haha What kind of mustang are you working on right now?
I like watching your videos but I have to turn off the sound. That singing instead of normal speech is annoying
Maybe it’s a California thing?
Sorry that's my stimming, a bit neurodivergent over here. I usually edit out most of the singing. A lot of the times, I'm not aware that I'm doing it, but it makes me feel better. Thanks for watching my videos!
Amazing job!
Great job man ! So happy to see a new video. Definitely gets me pumped to work on mine
I highly recommend installing as many grounds as possible. Make sure everything is grounded everywhere. Grounds to body, engine block to body, lights to radiator support, lights to body, battery to body, etc. Make sure to use star washers. Love the energy and enthusiasm!
Definitely an oil and vacuum leak from the back of the manifold. Use RTV instead of those rubber strips.ntheu always mush their way out.
Horn might be a ground
It worked before I swapped the steering wheel. Then stopped working when I put the new one on.
I had same problem with the brake lights turn out to be turn signal cam
We recently installed the front bumper and bumper guards. I got my wife to help. When we were done she said; "I am so happy we are done with the stupid front bumper!" The front bumper is a pain in the ass! We are now working on the interior of my 66 Fastack.
Dude, I had to go back and watch your original mustang video again. Oh my freaking heck man. Can't believe how nasty that thing was versus how ridiculously sexy it looks now. Seriously nice work brother 👏👏👏
Looks good brother. Slow and steady, doing it right. I think the new seals and weather stripping will make a huge difference, especially for wind noise and rattles.
Maybe one of those paintless dent removal people can fix the hood.
For the leak you have on the rear part of you engine is from the “china wall of gasket maker”. They’re notorious for leaking if they’re not done right but it is an easy fix and it’ll take a Saturday to get it done.
Bro. I feel like it's been forever since you posted. How's your coming along. I'm still looking for a car. The marketplace is so annoying. Like these fools don't wanna sell their cars they post. Hope to see your progress soon.
@ I just got the motor completely rebuilt and taking delivery of it soon. Been working on it here and there but since I started my own company, the start up is just taking all of my time…As for the dudes on marketplace, you just gotta keep looking. If you find some you like and want to make sure you’re getting the best deal you can send me the info to my business email. I’d be more than happy to help!
@@210RIONhell yeah, will do. I'm looking daily. I'm even looking there in central Texas. I figured one of my brother-in-laws either in Austin or Waco could stand for a visit if I find the right one. I have my eye on two right now. Hopefully I get some replies. I'll keep you posted.
@ I’m in the Austin-Waco area so if you need help then I got you 💪🏼
Hunter, awesome job on your Mustang!! It looks Great!! On the hood trim piece, put some washers on those screws. That way they won't go to deep.
I was happy to see you post so soon. I was thrilled that the light switch worked. My heart sank when the screws came through the hood 😢. Hope you can fix it. Nice work 👍 coming along nice
You're doing an excellent job on your Mustang!👍
Awesome video. Have you seen invitation of cordless impact wrench via email today?
I saw a house that caught on fire because there was a trashcan full of rags like that
Were is somewhere good to order interior
I would recommend CJpony parts. Just wait until they have a sale to order.
@ ok thanks

Am trying to fix mine were you order your phone interior I just started watching your videos this helped me so much
I just binge watched your entire Mustang playlist. Well, not the entire series because you have 3 more Mustang videos that are not in your playlist so I thought that I would take a minute to let you know. The Update Plus New Project, Exhaust and Compression Test videos need to be added to the list. I have to go and watch those now. LOL
Thank you so much for letting me know! I've gone ahead and added them into the playlist! Thanks for also taking the time to watch my video, I really appreciate it
@@VanHoutenBuilds no problem. It was interesting to see how someone without a lot of experience approached the build. I am sure that you learned a ton and the Bronco goes a lot smoother.
Looks great! I have a 66 with the exact same paint color. Im here in La, maybe I'll see you on the road sometime. Nice work!
Oh that's awesome! That would be great! Thanks
I feel like I know you after all these videos :) Thank you for everything!
Don’t use the steel wool solution it looks like sh&t in the end
