In 1967 I bought a new mustang. I paid 1600.dollar .Wish I still had it today .Know I'm 73 if I had the money I would find other one .I let my twin brother use it and he traded my car on a new truck .Still never forgot what he done . Keep.up the good work
Hey man I’m 15 and I’m talking to someone about a 65 shell and it’s going to be a big project but I’m excited
that pad WAS welded to the frame ... by 60 years of Sunlight! "rome wasn't built in a day though ... right?" looking good though ... really enjoying your videos
Can't wait to see this thing cruising!
Guardsman blue with that interior would look amazing!
I have 0 idea about cars and here i am watching the third video of the series. Im loving it. I've always liked old mustangs. Thank you for recording your progress. I was wondering how long it took you to complete the restoration. And how much did it cost in total.
Thanks for the support! Well I haven't finished restoring it yet. It's still a work in progress. I'm trying to keep the total spent under $5K, not including what I paid for the car.
Can't wait for the end result!!
I saw 👀 your first video… I thought you made guitars. I didn’t know you built motorcycles as well. You still have a killer amount of skills which explains how you can blow through these refreshers that you do! You’re making great progress and I wish you the best!!!
She’s coming along nicely! Looks great!
Thanks!
Thanks for including us on this journey brother, love it!
Not ordering from Distinctive Industries then, i need that exact part as well. Thanks for the heads up :D I have a Caspian blue 64.5 with a white vinyl hard top, looks like you're going in the same direction.... really nice combos!
That's awesome! Yeah I'm going Caspian Blue too!
Early! 🎉🎉 happy to be along on this ride. Best of luck
That "paint " is actually primer, they spray on to prevent rust
Greetings from Finland! I really enjoy watching your videos. I own a '65 GT coupe and I'm a big fan of early Mustangs. BTW your dog is so cute!
Thank you so much!
Hey there brother, that interior color combo should look great 👍... That's a beautiful 🤩 finish you got in the floor, almost a shame to cover it up, with the new dark 💙 blue carpet ! That DI real deck panel was bogus, I'd send them you video post, I'd be a disgrace they didn't respond to you on crappy product experience.... We know you could of easily pulled off fabricating one on yer own, but you were "treating" yerself, like you said, to spend that creative energy somewhere else on the build..
Keep em coming 😁!!!!!
ill never understand why people try and fix a manufacturers bad product. as soon as I saw how bad the glue and staple job was that package tray cover would have been back in the box and on its way back for a refund.
Contact adhesive would’ve sorted that out
Definitely! I learned my lesson with this and went and picked some up!
These videos are awsome and always insipre me to work on my own mustang. btw, did you sand the inside of the roof in any way before spraying on the rustoleum? if not, any visuals on how it's holding up? thanks in advance!! keep up the great work!
Thanks! Yes, I sanded down the whole inside of the roof in order to get a good scuff so the paint would better adhere. I used fiber and nylon wheels from harbor freight, just used them in a power drill. I also focused more heavily on the rusted areas. The rustoleum is holding up really well. The rust reformer is really good stuff after it's had time to properly cure!
Good job looking great
Thanks for the awesome videos! Did you get the “Ford blue” carpet? I’m trying to figure out the interior color scheme for my project car
Thanks! I just got the dark blue carpet to match everything as close as I could.
Thanks!!! I’m shopping for the carpet and the dash pad now. Had the same prob there too - it had basically adhered to the metal
I'd take all the glass out to do that stuff.
I really enjoyed watching your video. You did an awesome job. The painting you did was great. Are you sure you're not a Mexican? Spray can painting was awesome 😃
I would have left those seats red, that paint will probably be chipping after one summer.
Looks great!
Thanks!
80.00 USD for the package tray was a complete rip-off.
I know, lesson learned. I should have just made my own....facepalm
Hey how did the door panels come out? I was curious to know if you were able to preserve the texture on the door? Great stuff thanks for making these videos!
Yeah, they came out great! I'll add in a close up of them in my next video when I put on the door panel inserts. The trick to removing the paint and keeping the grain is to use the nylon 80 grit wheel that I used. It removes the paint while preserving the integrity of the metal. Thanks for the support!
@@VanHoutenBuilds thanks for the tip! I need to clean up my door panels so I appreciate the advise. The steering wheel restoration also was a help. Thanks again.
Sad to see the red go away!
Dis Stink Tive Industries
I've had good and not so good luck with parts from CJ. It's coming along nicely though. I just found your channel and haven't read any comments, but I'm guessing the hole in your trans tunnel was a drain for a dealer installed or aftermarket under dash mounted AC unit.
Maybe I should have kept it there in case I wanted to intall AC in the future, whoops hahah
@@VanHoutenBuilds 🤣🤣
wow amazing@@,
Brah, did you weld in the floorboards?
Yeah! Check out my previous video, I did all of the interior welding in that.
@@VanHoutenBuilds I’m local here in SoCal. Not many cars are guardsman. My mustang is. I’m in the Southbay. I can cruise by check out your operation and show you my color. I used DuPonts colors came out nice. I just started following you. Really cool what you have done so far🔥. Guido 👍🏼
@@luckyluciano4968 Yes, that would be amazing!! Feel free to give me an email and we can schedule a time for you to swing by. I'd love to see your mustang! Thanks for the follow! huntervanh@gmail.com
Is it possible to install a heater or heater plate in the engine block of 1965 mustang ?
I'm honestly not sure?
There's an anti rifle commercial in the middle of your show..
crazy
I’d contact cement it.
6:55 I would have used silicone
Yeah that's actually a good call, I probably should have used silicone. If the glue fails, I'll try that!
Did a lot of the same to my 67. But I went from Aqua, to black. The Aqua is Tha nasty 2 tone sea foam green color. Nope. Not for me
80 dollars?that's why staples fall off
That's not a restoration, That's cleaning up and refreshing a Mustang
Thanks Richard. Not sure what your definition of restoration is?
BLA BLA BLA
$80 they could of glued the cloth on and its so thin shocking product its all about the profit
Ford mustang white is not white. It's a light eggshell. Interior and exterior. I have a 66
cool.
I sure wish it were white white@@astolt12
