I loved your enthusiasm about the camera. I bought mine in 1983. 1984 I was climbing snow and ice in Canada 3 months. I took 2 cameras, FM2n and the Nikon FE. The 4 lenses 20mm, 35mm 90mm and 180mm. For me the perfect travel combination. I have just inherited a Leica M3 with Summerit 50mm lens. I still use the Nikon. I hope you will continue to enjoy the Camera. Have you thought about a rolliflex 3.5 or 2.8 because they are lovely cameras. My Rolliflex 2.9 should be used more. When I do use it, it brings a big smile to my face..

The highlight was definitely Polacon Texas! Had lots of fun hanging out with fellow Polaroiders and doing a hacking presentation... Out: scanning negatives In: darkroom printing!

I really like your content. You do you and keep on having fun. 😊 How is the camera holding up after 4 months of use? How does the internal light meter perform in low light situations? I'm tempted to get one, because my minoltas x-700 internal light meter is not that accurat in those situations.

My favorite camera is my Minolta P’s, had a lot of fun shooting it. I broke up with my Minolta XG-M on Dec 31st, its on time out 😂😂 2025 it’s gonna be all about my Minolta Hi Matic AF2, my Holga & my Minolta P’s. I’m all kinds of stocked up on film so no worries there. Well until I go to Greece in September. 🎉🎞️

Happy New Year from Worcestershire in the UK. I shot a project in 2024 on a mixture of Instax mini, Polaroid and Holga which is being shown as 'a box of zines' in a group show in March.

My favorite camera of 2024 is still my Ae-1 Film Stocks : Metropolis for city settings. Delta 3200 for night & Ektar for amazing colors. For retro vibes Color 92 and kentmere 100/400 for affordable B&W Stocks I’m still experimenting with: Phoenix 200 and Amber. I have a roll of Cinestill 50D in my camera at the moment. Great stuff, and happy new year! This year, there are a couple of cameras that I want to try and get my hands on, the first is a Hanimex 35ME, it's the camera that I took my very first photo with, the second is a Canon Demi 17 EE. Also, doing a bit more darkroom printing, I have four square frames at home with old images, and I want to print stuff from the Montreal trip to put into those shots on the Rolleiflex. Also, I want to get upgraded recording gear from the CCR Podcast so we can get back into studio recordings (which are way more fun than Zoom). Also, I am getting out to more Toronto Film Shooters meetups! As for batch developing, I have a rule, I need to have at least three developing cycles to make a session worthwhile, it doesn't matter how many rolls (minimum 3).

2024: first year when I proceeded my slides at home 🙂

Nearly all my shooting in 2024 was with spotmatic f, can’t see that changing much but have a 120 now so want to try sprocket shots (love the look, both the holes and the width), out is more gear, might actually try sell some I have

I switched to film in mid 2024, dusting off my Nikon FM & N80. Shot about 2 dozen rolls of various films, just getting used to a fixed ISO. For 2025 I will stick to 1 camera (FM), 1 lens (Nikkor 55mm Micro AIS) & 2 films, Kentmere 400 & Kodak Gold 200. Hoping to get 2 or 3 keepers per roll. Will still use XT-2 for family events. Will continue hoarding film when they go on sale. 😊

Im setting up a darkroom too, so that’s my IN. Out - NO New Gear.

Oh man.. so my 2024 for film photography was a busy one. New to me cameras : Pentax 17, Lomo 110, another Bronica EC as a backup, Nikon F4s, Contax RTSIII, Canon Owl AF7, Minolta HiMatic G, and two 3D printed pano medium formats (6x12 and 6x17 - and they both work great!) Voigtlander VSL-TM. I think I bought a total of 20-25 lenses as well for a variety of mounts. I shot over 80 rolls of film between 110, 35mm, and medium format. I shot 24 sheets of 4x5 - which were all developed by me using mostly cinestill chemicals - but also some kodak C41, Rodinal, and Kodak XTOL. . Digital wise - I bought a second Panasonic GF1 for backup, and grew my M4/3rds lens collection - that is about it for digital. I added a Canon Pro300 to mix so that has been fun. Hopefully 2025 will be busier - and I need to figure out what I want to shoot with a bunch slide film I have been sitting on. I also want to shoot more Large Format this year.

I shot 10 rolls of film. about average for me, used my new Pentax 17 for 2. different cameras for the rest. took pinhole pics for world pinhole day, also used my Holga for the first time for Holga week. going to try to scan and post quicker (about 6 months behind) going to try to not worry about how many rolls i shoot and think about being more intentional. also in: watching Eclectachrome videos!! happy new year

Oh -- I do take your recommendations very seriously -- and a Canon Sure Shot 90u II should arrive today for me to check out (got it cheap, not sure if it works). Looking for the longer-zoom models of the 'u II' Sure Shots as well....

2025 IN -- no more hoarding film -- try to use my vast collection, no more buying random equipment to test / 2025 OUT -- my 2025 IN list most likely!!!

Lessee -- I have tested a lot of cameras this year (mostly 35mm, some 120/620, one roll in a Minolta Weathermatic 110, and a 110 micro camera for my 'LoFi' 2024 FFP camera) -- 78 completed, 2 still being shot. I did pretty well with my *3* cameras/filmstocks for the FFP this year, but pooped out after my vacation in August and have missed a few months. I have found some very good point & shoots that I tested (many early 'dual-lens' 35mm point & shoots, before compact zooms were a thing), but also many *MEH* cameras as well. I think that my best overall experience was with my Yashica 230AF SLR with a few lenses and (fresh) Kodak ColorPlus 200. The equipment was very reliable, flexible and the AF is usually pretty accurate, and I love the film. So -- for a 'kit' to just go out and shoot without having to think about the process much, that's would definitely be a 'go to' (and that was one of my 2024 FFP cameras/filmstocks). I didn't travel much so most of the stuff that I have shot has been not too far from where I live (central Maryland), but in August I met up with my daughter and her family at Canandaigua Lake in the Finger Lakes of New York for a week -- that was a blast and I took my FFP cameras with me along with a plethora of other cameras and film. I really enjoyed the vacation, time with my grandsons/daughter and her husband, and seeing a lot of familiar places (my parents came from Rochester, NY and our family vacationed in that area a few times every year). Feeling a lot more subdued now that the grey/chill of winter is here. You definitely got around a lot this year! But I do like your local 'street fair' shots the best -- everyday life!

I'm trying myself by shooting only with a 50 mm, which, I'm coming to think more and more, lends itself because of it's angle and lack of "dramatic perspective". When you managed to "drill" your motive down, it really starts to shine!

Interesting -- strong reds like a Kodak consumer emulsion -- but definitely more contrasty than those and 'edgy' -- cannot think of a better word to describe it. The lines/edges of color/shade (especially on the cars) is really well defined -- where the Kodak films tend to be a tad bit 'softer'. Great look for shots with color/sun!

200 or 400 might not be a major problem, not like the old cameras had automatic exposure calculators.
