The folks at FPP are great, I've used almost all the monster films under the monster branding or the original film stocks. I do like the branding it is right on point for the B-Movie background of the team.
That black FM2 is gorgeous. I've been a huge fan of the FPP since well before they even had any merch, and I still am. I especially love that they've made Eastman Double X more accessible and available.
Ha! I'm over in Maine and was just in NH on Sunday to meet some family who were visiting. Wasn't a great day for shooting though, was so overcast (but the haunted house we checked out was fun for the kids).
I always fold the leader in half and put a crease in it as soon as I take it out of the camera so I know which film I have used, then when I get home I cut the leader square ready to load into the tank for developing later. That way I can't double expose it as I have in the past and I also got some lucky cool double exposures.
Haha yeah that’s a good method to remember tho!! That or a sharpie or something but I always seem to not have one when I need it and have them when I don’t 😂
I ordered three rolls from the FPP of Jeckyll & Hyde film in 35mm. I haven't shot it yet but after seeing your pics, I'm excited to shoot it. I vote for Bride of Frankenstein next year! That would be so cool!
Hey Molly! Not to be a jelly belly, but I gotta be a tad envious that you got a nice swag pack from FPP. They do a lot of fun stuff. I can't believe I still haven't shot any of the monster films. I keep saying I will, but it's been years now and... yeah, still haven't gotten on it yet. Lame. It's a perfect time for it. I'm even working my way through my Universal Monsters box set right now for spook season (currently binging the Mummy sequels, lol). This new Jekyll and Hyde looks great. It makes me think of FP4, but I've been shooting FP4 lately so it could just be on the brain. Sure works well with the New England scenery. I'm happy to see that FM2 is growing roots in your hands from the look of it. My Konica A1000 has done that for me. I'm even thinking of donating some of my other film cameras and just sticking with it and my N80 going forward. You're right about the lack of female monsters. The old Universal films were definitely a D-fest, lol. There was the Bride of Frankenstein, and Dracula's Daughter, but not much else. My personal fave was Irena from Cat People, but that's a deep cut. Not even title status, lol. I'm sure they'll do a Witch. Witches are in. Fun stuff, Happy Fall! 😁📸💛
haha at least try one, maybe the Mummy since you are watching that at the moment! and you are right, the FM2n has invaded my camera collection and taken over for most 35mm :) The N80 is a nice one and done camera!! A Witch would be super cool, but yeah you are right, and the ones you mentioned are titled as related to whatever male character they were, bride, daughter, not a standalone lol but the FPP said they are on it, so im excited to see!!!

great video, fyi 510 pyro looks warm, thats for a reason, in researching it, and the colour dev. C41 they have something in common, the developer 'rusts' in the process, and its oxide activates a dye in the concoction which essentially tones it, at the same time, so density is 90% exposure time (silver halide), 10% toning salts so things have to go differently, the time, etc. and also NEVER cross contaminate this, as you have the dye as well, not just the active ingredients; I mean with the fixer or stop bath here. also its viscous so they supply a syringe + adaptor to make dispensing this 'glue' easier.

a hint, for the leader issue (confusing fresh and expired rolls), take a hole punch with you, then put a hole in the centre of the leader, saying its DONE; or tape the leader to the can, and like MF roll film, write on the tape EXP so you know its used up.
They have been on my radar but I have never purchased any. That Jekyll and Hyde came out really nice. I usually shoot 400 B&W, so it would be interesting to see the results on my own shooting style.
I'm missing how you got the FM2 to leave the film lead out. Was this intentional? If so, how did you accomplish that? I've got some Frankenstein shot and waiting to be developed! Oops! I'ts Mummy.
yes :) so as I'm rewinding I wait for the release of tension and then immediately stop and it should leave a bit of the lead out...sounds nice! have fun with it!
@@Eclectachrome oh! thanks so much for the tip. I think I'll give that a try on my FM2. My F4 has the factory mod to leave the leader out on rewind, but hadn't thought of taking advantage of that fact.

It's a nice crisp/bright/crunchy emulsion for 100 ISO -- even in the overcast conditions on the bridge. I ordered some as soon as it was announced -- I've tried all of the FPP respooled films and not only are they fun (the packaging and the advertising) -- but they are not just run-of-the-mill modern films respooled. They are rarer emulsions, some expired but cold-stored, that are not easy to come by -- so another great way that the FPP achieves its goal of promoting film photography. Your shots were great -- especially the straw people. But beware -- they may show up closer and closer to your home as Halloween draws near!!!!!! 🎃👻💀
Hmmm -- a woman monster?????? Well, normally John Fedele (FPP_ stars in short 8mm/16mm clips that Mike Raso (FPP) shoots to help advertise the monster films. I usually give John a hard time ("PRESSURE") -- so *YEP* -- I'm in! I'd love to see John dressed up as a woman monster!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
