I didn't know that a Holga shutter could get stuck! But hey those two working images look good. I mean on my second video I used an untested camera that only exposed the top half of my frame!
Me either! Maybe there might be something I can do with it in the future, it could be a dedicated bulb mode camera haha oh gosh yeah that also sounds like a nightmare but part of the film fun lol
@Eclectachrome I used Red Holga for about 5 years, then I converted it into pinhole. Also I had the Black and Green Holgas. Green camera broke after first roll.
I'm shooting Holga GCFN with Kodak Gold as well for FFP. Bummer that yours broke. I have been experimenting with double exposures and the colored flashes. I have developed my Feb roll yet so my fingers are crossed that it turns out. I'm going to try to pick up the splitter! Thank you for sharing!
Just saw the notification pop up -- have not even watched the video yet -- *BUT* wanted to give a shout-out for submitting your Feb FFP roll -- you have a lot going on in other areas, so it's not always going to be easy to get the FFP rolls done and published -- so *YAY*!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍
I really enjoy watching you and @theoldcameraguy do the frugal film project. Maybe someday I’ll develop my own film but having little kids that get into everything scares me too much right now. Did you stop by Wayfarer or Defiant while downtown?
Film photography is an adventure. If you change from your normal work flow expect problems until you master your new one. Otherwise we would shoot digital.
Ack! Sorry about the shutter malfunction -- I'm used to that on box cameras much older than I am, not modern cameras! But it looks like it might be a simple fix (bending/tweaking the sliding shutter plates so that they don't stick/catch), Though great news that you have another GCFN! Although it's boring black in color!!! 🤣 And your shots, despite crazy camera, are great -- and it just goes to show that capturing images on film doesn't really require a lot of technology -- even doesn't require properly functioning technology!!!
Thanks Dana!!!! Yeah, I might try to tinker with it and bend some thing back into place haha i’ll probably end up breaking the camera though. But yes, this is what I love about the Holga!! Thank you as always!
Dang... that stinks... do you think it can be repaired? Or is it even worth it? Are you going to do another shoot with the splitzer? Thanks for sharing this!
I’m hoping that sometime in the future I’ll be able to do some thing with it!! But might not be worth it for the repair bill. Maybe I’ll have a tinker and see if I can figure something out. But yes, will be doing more shoots with the splitzer!! Thanks for watching!
Buying a camera for each roll is not frugal at all ! The Rolleiflex on the coffee table behind you at the end is probably more than 60 or 70 years old and still running... A camera for a century... THAT is frugal ! ;-)

Pictures truly amazing! I like Holgas. My favourite color of Holga is Red.
Thanks!! I’d love to find a red Holga! I’m hoping to get a Pink one someday!

That’s so cool! Can’t wait to see your roll! Yeah, the Splitzer is a lot of fun and I am glad that I had a back up for the Holga haha

Thanks! And yeah, I totally understand that situation… I have been to Wayfarer and it’s a cute spot!

I like the image at 3:33, that's nice.
thanks!

Switch the backs and switch the lenses so you have a zebra Holga! :o
that's a great idea!
The heartbreak of the Holga! I know it well…😊
It’s sad indeed!!!!
