I agree SQ6 is nice and relatively controable camera, so also it was my choice over actual models. Auto mode is no automatic, it is midrange focus distance up to 2 meters, thats why Lanscape will be always better above 2m.
Got an sq6 to mod it for medium format but fell in love with it (hacked an sq1 instead). Favorite thing is using the red flash filter and b&w film for contrasty portraits
Love the video and review! Think I've made my decision after some time spent researching. The fact that any photo from these cameras just make it all look Nostalgic. 30 years old Say- whAt program do you use for editing these videos ? Lightroom Lr/Pr Love everything about it!
I love my three SQ6es, two of which (a red one and a blue one) are mounted together for easily taking stereoskopic pictures. I also nearly always use landscape mode, but rarely felt a necessity to darken or lighten the fotos. My silver one remains with me because my daughter (at the age of thirty) refused to accept it, she felt it was too complicated for her, she preferred the simpler SQ40. 🤣
Really enjoyed coming along on your road trip. Great vid. I so want to visit Portland and Seattle now! I think some of your images demonstrate the frustration I have with this camera. I love it, but the hit rate of getting successfully sharp and nicely exposed images is just too low for me so I found myself using the Instax printer more. Course it's not quite as fun but I'm longing for Fuji to produce a Sq camera with a decent lens, then I would use a lot more instax film.
thanks Paula!! Both are great places to see, especially Seattle :) but yeah it can be frustrating and I recently got one of the instax printers for mini film and it's SO much more satisfying haha but would love Fujifilm to do that, seems like they are going in the opposite direction though!
I own one of these but I just don't use it as much these days. I picked up an SQ20 hybrid, and now I don't have to scan my Instax anymore. I did a lot of side-by-side testing and the end result Instax frames are essentially identical.
I shoot instax wide and find outdoor shots a challenge due to the limited dynamic range. My experience is that it has around 3 stops before highlights are blown out...
Apart from a few weird design choices (no lighten/darken for close up and infinity mode) this is absolutely the best analog Square format camera Fuji has made. I don't understand why they always dumb down their follow up releases. Look at the latest Wide camera: it can do less than the Instax 100 from 25 years ago!
Interesting direction they took lol perhaps it’s a mass appeal?? For non photographers? But it’s a shame that a lot of the cool features are no longer in the new versions
I have really come around on Fuji Instax cameras thanks to you and channels like yours! 2 comments: 1) I really like the camera and controls, I just REALLY hate the aesthetics and the way it looks. 2) have you ever tried the Lomo Diana instant square?
Very well made and entertaining video. Instax square pics you took look fab. What would you say your “hit” rate was from all you took (exposure/focus wise)? I would use Instax square but I’m too much in love with my sx70 sonar even though it’s twice the price per shot and film needs looking after for consistent results.
Thank you!! It was high! Exposure and focus, the camera nailed for most shots, there were very few that didn’t come out great…or that I didn’t like…but this is after getting used to the camera and knowing what works and what doesn’t, the sonar sounds fun though!! When it hits it hits ❤️
Just watched a number of your videos and subbed. Great content! I feel like I learned something from everyone. I first saw your Latest news video because I am trying to do something similar on my own channel. So I ventured out into to the wilderness to see what all the other analog fans are doing :) Curious to know where you are sourcing your material from? Reddit?
hey hey :) thanks! yeah it's cool to see a bunch of folks doing it with their unique spins! oh no, I stay away from reddit hahaha i get news direct from the source, it's research and also connecting with folks
Haha the Polaroids which are bigger and sturdier do feel nicer, but it’s funny how Fujifilm was making film for Polaroid ages ago, I can’t get on at the moment with wide or mini, what do you like to shoot with them?

thanks! it's a great camera once you get used to it - i use a mix of lumafusion on the ipad or capcut - might have even editing this one on my phone
I have this camera and I love it! Where did you get that case and strap?
Awesome! I think I got it off of Amazon
Awesome video! Love the photos you got. You should come to the OG Dallas Polacon in a couple of months and meet Mr. Hola, Todd, and many others! 😊
I'd LOVE to :) and thank you!
Love the photos and the music, I have the Sq10, the mini 90 and the Diana instant back. 😊

that's neat putting them together for stereoscopy!

@@Eclectachrome Thank you for the advice. I will keep plugging away, Im probably going to dig up some old news that just gets overlooked.
That’s a cool looking camera!! Unlike my clunky big ol’ instax 200 wide which I love btw but why is it the size of a small car lol
Haha they are bulbous!!
i love my taylor swift version :)
Nice!
I don't like this format because I consider it a knock off of Polaroid. 😊But I like and use instax mini and wide. 😁

@@Eclectachrome oh, mostly people and friends. I value the social aspect of physical instant photography. 🙂
