I would love to have the convenience of a flip phone but I couldn’t do without text. I learned to text on a flip phone and it’s a pain. I text way more than talk. It’s good for seniors who can easily keep in a pocket and it has long battery life. On my iPhone 7, which was my niece’s reject years ago, I text, talk, use gps, camera and that’s all I need. There are other useful apps I occasionally use but could live without. Maybe come with a separate remote to use to locate lost phone.
@BellyLaugher he mentions it at 2:12 in the review - the Iris Flip runs on KaiOS vs Easy Flip is based on Android; the Iris Flip has a smaller exterior display vs Easy Flip...functions should be similar (but KaiOS might have an advantage when it comes to having an app store built in...core features and performance shouldn't differ that much tho)
The volume rockers are way to sensitive, I often find my phone is muted after just sitting in my pocket, the same with the camera. The phone has taken so many pocket pictures that it filled the memory and it couldn't do anything till I deleted them. I wish it had a simple game or two, even my old Nokia brick from 2005 had snake. How do you side load stuff?
You should have done a side by side comparison between the old school Razr and the modern flip phones to see the size difference, both open and closed. The newer phones are huge in comparison to the older ones.
What is/are the differences between the Iris Flip & the Iris Easy? Consumer Cellular's site doesn't list both at the moment to run usual comparison chart (staff sd they are out of stock on one of them, & won't provide means to compare until restocked). Neither Target or Walmart in entire Boston MA area have the Iris Easy Flip in red❣but they do have Iris Flip in red, but I can't tell if buying that iteration will mean loss of some improved function. Just got the EASY Flip. Installed new Sandisk 128gb micro sd card. Doesn't work. Invalid. Bought another 128gb micro sd card. Doesn't work. Says it's "invalid". Sandisk comes formatted exfat. Does it have to be formatted Fat 32? I called CC ... no help. Does the phone itself format the card? ... and yes - it was very carefully installed.
All these phones sucks.Yeah they're cheap, but they are so complicated to navigate.Are you kidding?An older person wold be lost, the keys are multi function.Just too much to remember The home page is deceptive showing UA-cam, which you can only download single videos.What good's that?Texting is very clumsy.The voice to text function misinterprets most of what you say.If someone only needs to make and receive calls and struggle with texting,this is your phone.
