Hello. Thank you for the wonderful video. I'm a Japanese author! Due to my smartphone addiction, I started using a dumbphone for my mental health. I've written books and videos about my experience. I think digital detox is necessary worldwide. I'm excited to hear that dumbphones are experiencing a resurgence overseas. I hope there will be more simple phones like this!
I took a hard look at carrying a dumb phone and it should not be a big deal other than when traveling. Anything that I need a smartphone for, I can easily do from a tablet or computer. When I am out of the house, a dumb phone would be fine. I am going to give this a shot. I love the retro vibes, I remember having one of these back in the day and life was much simpler
Honestly that is the mainly the real problem with smart phones. It is too easy to spend hours looking at for all type of things, even when such things as Computer or a Tablet with Keyboard would be a better tool to perform the job at hand. I think some people are more connected to their phone than they are to the people they claim they love anymore. My ex-wife and her sisters for years would text each other while sitting in the same room, so people like their mom or spouse(s) would know what they were talking about. It amazing how little people actually talk while talking to each other. I mean do you really to know every update of where your friends and family are at? Too me it seems like more invasion of one privacy. Yet, we tend to trade one device to use another, we seem to be overconnected to everyone. You know what I don't care what you are doing all of the time, yeah it nice to know you are safe and what not, but I don't need to know every rest area you stopped at on that 1000 mile trip. Just saying.
I just dumbed my smartphone down and it has worked wonders. I eliminated distracting app arrangements and made app "categories" on different screens. Now I only go to one category/screen at a time to stay more focused - the music screen, the communications screen, the shopping screen, and so on. The home screen is totally empty, so I can always hit home and get out of everything and nothing sucks me in). I also stay out of social media but lurk at times for an entertainment fix. And, I turned my tablet into a Kobo reader only - no other apps are on there - so I read books now more than distractive internet content. Now much happier and more focused! Still using the tools I need while getting rid of as many brain-destroying distractions as possible and it's going well. I feel good about my tech life now!

Hello i finished the video until the end. Thank you for the review. I am considering buying this phone for my digital detox too. I only have one question though i hope u can answer this: the messaging on this phone does it go like a conversation bubble for every person u send a text message? Or every time u receive and send a text message it will pile up as several tezt messages? Like if you are conversing to only one person and u will have heaps of messages to delete one by one after the exchange of text sms.or is it confined to only onw bubble convo message. Thank you so much. Looking forward to your comments guys.
I still have a Samsung GT-E1055T and at 4.23 inch length it is very slim and so neat in the hand compared with a Samsung Galaxy at 6.5 inches. Battery life about 3 days, & slots into any pocket dead easy. Replaceable battery is a big plus for dumbphomes.
I come from the era even before dumb phones so I was already an adult by the time these Nokia phones hit the scene. That said, I would love to go back to using one. I can get by without any apps apart from a Maps app. The Nokia maps app from my Nokia Windows phone from a decade ago was great! If they can give me a phone in this form factor that has sat nav, a decent camera (not even great, just decent), and a quicker way to text than TTY, I may have the desire to switch.
you’re trying to compare this to a smartphone and that’s where i think a lot of your negative points are invalid, in my opinion of course. the point of this phone obviously is to have less capabilities than a smartphone, not “it’d be nice to have this or that.” liked and enjoyed the video though! overall great review and you did a good job. just inserted my two cents. 😝
i got the 215 instead and absolutely love it as my downtime phone though i wish i had gotten the 3210/225 4G because of the camera, otherwise i love my dumbphone
feel like certain stuff from either a modern phone or pc is pretty much required to get by in my country. but phones could have been phones, maybe a black and white phone that only really do calls and messages could have impressive battery life and reliability. but like some older people around me who at least used to use older phones some years ago felt like they need a computer, think smart phone would be good enough for that though. using most of my battery to take pictures of insects and flowers doesn't feel like the most proper use of a phone
All of this sounds great, Rehab or whatever you may prefer to call it. However, personally, I may consider such a phone, only if there is a way to sync Google Contacts. Without that capability, it's pointless to manually save or update contacts on both phones. It would just be duplicate work and of no real value.
No need to buy a new phone, even at $90. There are videos on UA-cam for turning your smart phone into a dumb phone. I did that with my iPhone 12 and it was a game changer. And you are correct, the rest is just willpower to put the damn thing down and do something else.
I like how most of the things that people in the comments are saying they want a phone without are only on their smartphones because they installed them. I mean, one can choose to limit their own smartphone to just calls, messages, and a camera if they want to.
It's too bad the new Nokia didn't follow some of the original, for instance interchangeable batteries, that would help it complied to the EU requirements, also the ability of using it for an FM broadcast radio receiver Very helpful in an emergency.
A dumb phone would probably be ok for me, because, as a retired man, I really don’t use my phone for much other than calls and messages. Everything else, I prefer to do on my iPad. This Nokia is appealing, but I’d prefer a dumb flip phone, if those are still available. A flip phone is easier to keep in your pocket, which is why I don’t like carrying my iPhone.
If this 3210 (2024) refresh had Wi-Fi hotspot tethering like the 6300 4G did, I'd buy every color, but unfortunately it doesn't, maybe the 3210 (2028) will add this feature 🤷
I like dumb phones but they should really put in apps useful apps like your banking app Lyft or Uber and maybe it should only be allowed to have like three apps and there should be a block on social media apps
I grew up with dumb phones. They were wonderful for battery life and just, well, being a phone. You never felt tethered to it. Calls and texts and that was it. I can understand totally whey there is now a movement to go for dumb phones. Yes, the camera on this Nokia is awful and yes it doesn’t have WiFi etc etc, but people should view this as a positive as they notice themselves getting a bit of their life back and reduced phone dependence!
This is so far the best phone i had for a long time except i lost it at the ground when cutting the grass and it went in pieces 😪, I would definitely buy it again for sure 😅. Lucky me the sim is the only thing that was intact. im never going back to these crappy smartphones
Spotify on this would have been awesome. This should come with Spotify out of the box. Any Social Media Apps on the other hand - needs to stay out of this.
Buying this is like going to rehab for smartphone addiction. Most of us need this to be honest.

If they can give me a phone in this form factor that has sat nav, a decent camera (not even great, just decent), and a quicker way to text than TTY, I may have the desire to switch.
is the display plastic? is ot gonna break easily?
among all the phones back then only nokia phones had alot of casing, accessories and mods being sold
It's better to see N 97 may be it could help as its smart and small . Pls do a review on that , thanks.
It's beautiful! The colour is amazing!
How secure is it ?
Is it safe from hackers snooping on calls?
I am looking for a blackberry styled keyboard phone with google maps compatibility.
I remember I had the 3310 and it fell in the toilet and yet all i had to do was leave it to dry for 24h then it worked like a charm
Did U mixup the 3310 with 3210?
you’re trying to compare this to a smartphone and that’s where i think a lot of your negative points are invalid, in my opinion of course. the point of this phone obviously is to have less capabilities than a smartphone, not “it’d be nice to have this or that.” liked and enjoyed the video though! overall great review and you did a good job. just inserted my two cents. 😝
the earpiece is great on calls?
The bad camera is the only thing holding me back from buying one of these!
Thanks for sharing this information
i got the 215 instead and absolutely love it as my downtime phone though i wish i had gotten the 3210/225 4G because of the camera, otherwise i love my dumbphone
feel like certain stuff from either a modern phone or pc is pretty much required to get by in my country.
but phones could have been phones, maybe a black and white phone that only really do calls and messages could have impressive battery life and reliability.
but like some older people around me who at least used to use older phones some years ago felt like they need a computer, think smart phone would be good enough for that though.
using most of my battery to take pictures of insects and flowers doesn't feel like the most proper use of a phone
All of this sounds great, Rehab or whatever you may prefer to call it. However, personally, I may consider such a phone, only if there is a way to sync Google Contacts. Without that capability, it's pointless to manually save or update contacts on both phones. It would just be duplicate work and of no real value.
The old Nokia you had on the beginning was Nokia 3310 the next model of 3210
Is 4G tethering speeds good?
No need to buy a new phone, even at $90. There are videos on UA-cam for turning your smart phone into a dumb phone. I did that with my iPhone 12 and it was a game changer. And you are correct, the rest is just willpower to put the damn thing down and do something else.
There is research showing that the phone affects the brain even if it is in another room.
Can you use this as a wifi hotspot?
Great phone but over priced. $30~40 fair price
Dumb phone, I use one at work, one for emergency and a smartphone is always near. I am interested in this model!
Don't think this is going to be a seller ......... too many folk are used to their hi-tec smart-fones.
Does it support T9?
Talking about the 3210, showing pictures of the 3310.... The 3210 wasn't a brick... I owned it. The 3310 you pictured indeed was.
Does it work with Bluetooth headphones?
Ha ha
I have this phone and absolutely love it :)
My first mobile phone! 3210.
As long as it has T9, we good
A dumb phone would probably be ok for me, because, as a retired man, I really don’t use my phone for much other than calls and messages. Everything else, I prefer to do on my iPad. This Nokia is appealing, but I’d prefer a dumb flip phone, if those are still available. A flip phone is easier to keep in your pocket, which is why I don’t like carrying my iPhone.
You could try to search about Nokia 2720 and Nokia 2780, that's their flip phone model
If this 3210 (2024) refresh had Wi-Fi hotspot tethering like the 6300 4G did, I'd buy every color, but unfortunately it doesn't, maybe the 3210 (2028) will add this feature 🤷
Does it support RCS?
No
I like dumb phones but they should really put in apps useful apps like your banking app Lyft or Uber and maybe it should only be allowed to have like three apps and there should be a block on social media apps
No there shouldn't. Social media is the most basic necessary communication apps for everyone. Not capitalist business crap
Or better yet, we just need a dumb phone mode for smart phones.
does it have hotspot or usb tethering?
dumbphone - good review!
Should I get this one or the 225 4G (2024)?
Is Nokia Finland making these phones? Since HMD cannot use the Nokia name anymore?
Love the dumb phone off grid simplicity - poss upgrade for my current Nokia backup phone ..
All I want to know is can I use this in the US and what carrier?
Very interesting video. I could never give up my iPhone. dumbphone
Spotify on this would have been awesome. This should come with Spotify out of the box. Any Social Media Apps on the other hand - needs to stay out of this.
