Make sure when you turn and tack to place your Staples at the edge of the carpet backing for a nicer looking finish.

Thanks for the video! Are the staples you use 1/4 across the top and 9/16 long? I'm guessing you don't want to use brads or air gun nails for this. Thanks!

Man that looks great! Now how do I keep my dog from clawing it up again

My boss wants me to use a tack strip every time no matter the circumstance, I can only assume that when rolling the carpet onto the strip when not transitioning to a higher laminate (usually my case) just leaves the carpet looking off. Opinion Mike?

Xeris Plays thanks for connecting and yep I agree! I’m most cases rolling on top of a strip to a non elevated floor may create too much of a height difference on the carpet

Thanks for the video. What size staples did you use?

James Williams thanks for connecting! We use 9/16 staples for our "turn and tack" and stair installations

What can I use instead of that nailgun.. I'm doing a little project and don't want to spend alot of money. Can I just hammer some kind of nails in? Thank u

Not My Name absolutely you can use small nails with a tiny head (a step up from finish nails) hide them in between the fibers and you should be good to go

Help! I rent a house. My dog lost her mind and pulled the carpet up in my bedroom at the door where the carpet meets the hardwood floor in the hallway. Now right where the carpet and the hall meet the carpet is all frayed but just right there. Is there a way I can strech the carpet and retack it down? I don't have one of those kickers. Or what would be the best way to repair it. The carpet is kinda old so if I patch it with a new piece of carpet I don't think it will match due to the old carpet being slightly worn. The owner wants to come for a walk thru this week. Help me

When is there a need for a tack strip under there? Thanks for the video?

LovelyNat13 hey hey, add the tac strip when you are working with a concrete subfloor or when you are transitioning your carpet to a raised surface (ceramic tile, hardwood reducer, laminate reducer...) thanks for dropping by!
