The Flag is flipped in the video because the actual video is flipped. FYI.
LOVE LOVE the voice over telling us what you are doing. That is so helpful for people who are not as skilled with working with either steel or wood. Not going 50 times fast forward is a great appreciation also. Telling not only what you are doing but why so you are doing it so we don't have to guess the whole project. You could slow the video just a little so we can enjoy watching all your hard work. If doing a lot of the same tasks over and over, seeing a few of them a a slower speed would be fabulous !! Love your stuff and want to see how and why you do it. One beautiful bed !!!!!!!!!!
Jimmy Diresta and family, I've spent countless hours watching you skillfully craft a variety of things like a cat house, bridge, signs, bed frame and so many other things. Your vision to see an ordinary thing and turn it into an extraordinary thing is amazing. You skills as a craft are outstanding. I even enjoyed your Trash to Cash series. Thanks for sharing you talents with us, inviting us into your home and introducing us to your family and friends. Please keep the videos coming. One of these days I'm going to get one of your ice picks. Hurray for your sponsors!
Thanks Casper for supporting makers everywhere. If I lived in the US, i'd try their mattress.
Thanks Jimmy for the lovely homely collab with Lady Taylor.
And regards to Willy, always happy to see him pop up and give a hand.
Thanks for the inspiration. Keep on trucking (from France) !
That leather headboard looks incredible mate.
I really like this style of video with Jimmy narrating over top, there's something soothing to the way he explains it all.
Tell Taylor the design really is stunning. Elegant yet with some 'mass' that keeps it from feeling/looking insubstantial. Brass cap nuts were a nice addition.
I always enjoy it when you narrate your builds, it's great to get a bit more information and your thoughts on the project.
My wife and I were just discussing a Casper - this video sold her on buying one! Thank you Sir!
That old planer/jointer is just beautiful! The build was beautiful too! Thanks.
I bloody love this design, wood, leather and steel is a classic combo, but those brass bolts gave it a subtle punch that I love!
Very cool design. Well done. I like how you tried to convey all the work that goes into it, because people that don't build things can't really grasp all that goes into making them. Things always take longer than you think they will.... But then again, maybe that's not the case for superman Jimmydiresta!
wow, love that design Taylor! genius use of leather for the headboard instead of typical wood designs/patterns. Jimmy, you're so right, McMaster-Carr is amazing for all the things.
That's a beautiful design! Very in line with Taylor's style. I had a feeling she was involved with this one, just from the thumbnail. I'm going to head over to the website and see if it's up yet. Please pass on my compliments to your lady. She's very talented!
Cool! My next big project is going to be a bed too. You were able to keep the pieces really manageable in size. Thats what I find the hardest when making large furniture. You simply cannot carry the pieces on your own, yet you need to drag them through saws and what not. Now I wish I had a sponsor for a mattress too.
incredible piece of art Mr. Diresta! You and Taylor should be very proud. It is an exceptional piece that anyone would be ecstatic to own. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Gorgeous. Somebody with leather tooling abilities could really go to town on that headboard. Great design and build.
You're right, the 1.5" pipes have a much better visual "weight" when seen next to the thick boards and metal plates. Nice choice! Great build.
Hey Jimmy - another great build, but I wanted to tell you how much I enjoy seeing your pets and livestock included. Their obvious comfort being around you while you're working is indicative of the care you give them - I have had cats and chickens in my life often, and I know that they can be indifferent and independant at least, and intransigent or invisible at worst. I think you can make some valid assumptions about people by the way they interact with animals - yours are definitely an endorsement of the care they recieve. Nice work.
🙏🏼🙏🏼👊🏼✊🏻
Between your build experience and creativity and Taylor's design this was an awesome video. You guys work awesome together, It would be nice to see more colab videos like this. I hope this design is a big hit in her store.
I could seriously watch you make things all day without blinking. You have an amazing talent. I like it
once again you've created a beauty! the simplicity is what makes it perfect. clean lines and function is what makes it great. I'd buy it when its in the catalogue.
I really enjoy hearing you talk about the project, as you build it. More this way please
I love her design style. Bold but minimal. Fantastic.
The simplicity and reliability, great! Excellent!
Wow, that was an great build and really nice design :) I always learn one thing or two...or ten! Thanks Jimmy for sharing such great content.
This is the best idea for a Casper advert. So creative and love it
thanks for spending the extra time for the voice over. your thought process is fascinating.
Well done you two! The leather was a nice touch, all around beautiful design! Thanks for sharing.
3:19 "You see those bandsaw marks? I like those bandsaw marks. I'm gonna keep them."
Love that line!
your videos always put me to sleep but I can't stop watching them they are so hypnotising. keep up the good art work.
Looks amazing, those brass caps are the greatest little touch to this.
Dude your farmhouse and property are awesome. So are timber and that jointer! 18 inches is a monster. Great to see it still being used.
Nice design. I saw so many DIY bed videos, always with the same mistake, mattresses NEED air circulation under it!
JustBrennholz It's hard to do. I built one and used wood lattice for the matress support and the bed sleeps cool and hasn't sagged. Definitely important for the foam beds. Don't want to sleep on a damp sponge for 10 years :)
I had the same thought. Normally over here in Germany we use slatted frames like these: goo.gl/i0csS5. But the more often I see people from abroad using just regular wooden boards, I ask myself: are slatted bed bases just a European thing?
Don Krypton I live in Canada and my family all has are slatted frames. I just got a new slatted bed frame.
Usually, diy beds are sponsored by Casper and I think Casper mattresses don't need slated basse, they don't rot like normal foam maîtresses
Look into it I am not a Casper rep but I think their is something like that
Look at modern builds video or jords workshop or iltms
JustBrennholz racja. pomiędzy deskami powinny być min. 4-5 cm przerwy. inaczej materac będzie gnił od spodu!
That piece of art was a pleasure to watch create. Well done to the both of you.
she definitely needs to sale this on her line!! the headboard looks amazing and pops because of the blackened metal and great wood choice
That is a great design, and it looks sturdy. I like the metal and wood mixed design, colors, and the floating headboard idea. I think it would be well received if you sold it. Maybe a floating foot-board option?
Love the videos Jimmy. They inspired me not to narrow my options to just wood. You keep making them and I will keep watching them.
Love the design details on this, like the mill finish boards and brass cap nuts. Should make a great addition to the design line.
Just a little note about what you called "planing the boards". It's actually a jointer and it's called "jointing" the boards because you use it to smooth/plane the joining faces of the boards, the edge faces.
I enjoyed the voice over on this vid.
I really liked the narration! It get us more involved to the project itself! Thanks, and cheers from Brazil!
Great look on this bed design Jimmy. I am glad you did not plane the rough side , looks better this way.
Love that you left the mill marks on the wood. It's a perfect addition to this style of furniture! Great work as always Jimmy!
Very pretty design. Perhaps a kit with just the metal parts can be offered for folks that can do the woodworking but not the welding.
Great build. Nice to see you two working together.
I would love to see more Jimmy/Taylor collabs. Absolutely gorgeous bed.
I like those corners that really comes off as industrial but not flashy good looking bed jimmy
Nice bed. I like the simple look yet super sturdy construction. That will last forever.
super clean design! beautiful! great job Taylor and Jim !
Lovely that you are soul mates in your endeavours: sum greater than the parts. A stunning design beautifully executed: clean, sleek, elegant & desirable.
I love when you incorporate leather on your projects, that headboard is awesome!! The whole bed frame is amazing, beautiful build. Congrats Jimmy and Taylor ;)
I don't get how this work of art has 34 dislikes, it seriously annoys me!!
Beautiful design. Leather headboard is stunning.
Every time I look at the videos you upload, what I feel is that you have one of the talents I really really wanna have.
Anyway thank you for a good videos, dude.
Good for you on the sponsorship Jimmy!! Beautiful bed too!!
I love the idea , design and craftsmanship and the ceiling in the bedroom is awesome. FINS UP 👍 👍
What a beautiful design, I just love it. Thank you for sharing your amazing video
Really liked the voice over on this one. It's fun to try and guess what your doing while watching you work, but also helpful to hear why you are making lots of little decisions.
Pretty cool to get a commentary video on here. As opposed to them being mostly on the Core channel.
for under the mattress support, leave a small gap between them boards, helps alot preventing creeks and squeals
Great design ! Brass on the blackener looks great. 1/4" leather I didn't know it existed
Beautiful bed. You guys are onto something, best of luck.
That frame is amazing simple but elegant... And the leather headboard was that is the cherry...
You wrote it on your hand and then promptly put on gloves. :) Looks amazing, brother!
Liking the voice overs. Keep it up.
Check his videos at core77inc
I absolutely love the design, a nice mix of minimalist and industrial with good warmth to it from the wood.
Would love to have that in my bedroom, don't think I can afford it though.
I visited the add because this is one of the best channels on the youtubes... no joke
Jacob Clayton thank you !
i love this, black metal, gold caps, red wood, tan leather!
Awesome design! Good job Jimmy and Taylor, and of course Willy. I really feel he doesnt get enough recognition in the comments.
Nice bed, bought a Casper for my camper. It's to long but it works and dang is it comfy.
That is one awesome looking bed you guys designed and made there!
Beautiful beautiful bed! The metal blackener seems to be pretty interesting stuff, never worked with it. It must be different from paint as the brass nuts didn't seem to scratch it off from the frame!
You two are littarly a dream team!
I'm sure you both inspire each other frequently. ...
keep up the phenomenal inspirational work!!
Great job, Taylor and Jimmy. Beautiful design!
Beautiful design Taylor, nice execution Jimmy. My only crit is the pipe edge on the foot board I have visions of gashing open a shin when the carhartts come off. I like button tops in wood to cap the steel but it may be too fussy for your super clean aesthetic. Nice work
Congratulations, I'm following your channel on UA-cam for a few days. Great ideas and constructions. I've already watched all your videos. A suggestion of furniture made from pallets. Very good.
If you planning to make more beds like this one then you could use channels for the corner braces instead of plates. I work in small engineering company and we scrap tons of offcuts this size or bigger. We get quarter of the price we pay for the raw materials.
Great work jimmy. Super into the bed. It is awesome that you two can work together like that!
cool Bed.
those corner Clamps are nice
Beautiful design! Exemplary craftsmanship!
that was one of the coolest builds I've seen you do (and I've watched nearly 3/4 of your videos) I just admire your skills of DIY
Juxtaposing the new mattress with some craft made stuff ain't a bad thing.
I liked the bed, chunky and solid.
You two really work well together, that Bed is Beautiful, I may steal the design for my own bed ;)
really nice design and awesome construction, amazing vid as always jimmy
The tongue and groove idea is brilliant! I will be making a bed at some point soon, and I was looking for ideas for a "base" without a box spring. I could do sections of plywood, but I'd need 2 sheets, preferably 3/4", blah blah blah. Yeah I might do the t-g. Easier to take apart if I need to move the bed.
I love it when Jimmy voice uses overs! Great project!
Man, I love McMaster-Carr. Glad to see you use them as well
Beautiful design! Lover the end result with the mattress on.
This bed is beautiful Well done you two!
Absolutely beautiful design. Love it!!
So inspiring and cool...having a vision and seeing it though to being an actual "thing". Your bed is very cool. Thank you for sharing! Love your channel :)
Very cute kitty, make sure to give timber much love!
The highlight of this video is definitely the cat at the end.
and now you know jimmy is just a crazy carpenter he even named his cat Timber
Excellent Job, Jimmy and Taylor ! very cool !
I don't do what you do, I probably never will or have the space for it, even though it's quite interesting. That being said, your videos are the most entertaining for me of all the other channels I follow. It's really interesting to see the progress from start to finish. Keep it up! And hopefully the magic 1,000,000 soon!
Hey Jimmy cool bed. Just a friendly O.C.D observation to have you double check the flag and make sure the blue field is on the top left hand corner for hanging stripes vertical, I can't tell cuz the video gets turned around. :-)
Great looking bed. I really like the leather in the headboard.
I really thought I had already seen this video.. but that was just on your IG story. Beautiful!
Just had the problem of freezing before drying when I tried to glue something the other day.. :D
Great work. THIS is how sponsored videos should be made.
I really like the narration Jimmy, I'd love to have it in more videos. It makes this kind of like Bob Ross but with making, I love it. Keep up the good work!
Jimmy Diresta/ you have mad skills sir! True Artisan 👩🎨
That is a beautiful bed and a beautiful build! NICE!
NJFLIPPER tx brother!
