If you wanna make tons of money in Fallout 4, jet and water are the key to success (Companies and criminals already figured that out in real life). Build as many industrial water purifiers as you can in Sanctuary and/or really anywhere with a large water source (The Castle works too). All the excess water goes into your workshop in the form of bottled, purified water. You can get hundreds of bottles worth thousands of caps every few days or so. You can pretty much bankrupt every trader with each load, or find a weapons dealer and convert your water into weightless ammo and fusion cores. As for the jet, scavenge a ton of plastic, and build a trough for Bramin at the settlements they show up at. These seemingly useless cows will fill your workshops with fertilizer. Use your chem lab to make tons of low-weight, high-value jet (all you need to make it is fertilizer and plastic). Sell it to vendors and congrats, you're now a successful drug lord. And with Addictol, feel free to get high on your own supply (just not in front of Piper, Preston, and the other straight-edge companions). Follow one of or both of these strategies and you'll have more ammo and money than you'll know what to do with.
@ga kuddzu: Fair enough. The only difference between a criminal empire and a company is their ability to use the legal system to their own ends. Companies use the government, criminals use their own private army of thugs.
It really is. Hell, even doing just one will keep you stocked in all the fusion cores and ammo you'll ever need. Or you can buy some of the nicer legendary weapons like the Big Boy, Spray and Pray, etc.
30 seconds into the video I told myself “oh it’s 22 minutes long, I’m not gonna watch the whole thing”, and it was so interesting that I watched the whole video. This guy knows how to talk and keep it interesting, lol.
I know it's 3 years later but 762 is the 30 cal round just as 308 is a 30 cal. However there are many 7.62 rounds from the x25 pistol, x39 smg, x51 nato rifle round, and x54r Soviet rifle round in roughly that order. 50 cal is half an inch in diameter, and could be one of many pistol rounds or several rifle rounds. Generally when people refer to 50 cal it's the 50 bmg
Fun - but you can multiply the value of your steel by 8 by just having Chemist 1, making it into poisoned caltrops. 1 steel is worth 1 cap, 5 of them make 1 poisoned caltrop worth 40. It is less 'cheat'ish and a lot faster.
Regular caltrops can also be made with 5 steel, and is worth 25 caps. Sure, is earns less than poisoned caltrops, but the advantage is, NO REQUIREMENTS. You can start making them right away using the Chem station in Sanctuary, as soon as you get out of the Vault.
I got rich by selling water, or exchanging water for goods, robbing other factions is just a pass time for me that helps keep my settlements from constant attacks.
I noticed that after you recycled the lunchboxes, the one that dropped a new prize was the only lunchbox that, when highlighted, gave you the option to take it. So if you only try to open the recycled boxes that give you the take prompt, you should be able to speed up this process by quite a bit.
Bee Rind, that's a great idea actually because it doesn't actually cost caps to make Bottlecap Mines. However, you _do_ get caps back when they explode! A decent amount too 👍
2 things: 1) am I the only person still coming back to this man’s channel for Fallout 4 content years later (2024)? 2) am I the only person that clicks like on his vids as soon as I get here because I know I’m about to enjoy the content? I can’t be the only person. Bro, you are the man with these no mod vids. As someone who plays with mods you are showing me that may favorite part of fallout 4 doesn’t even really need mods to enjoy it. Bravo and cheers!
Really appreciate it man. And there's definitely been a ten-fold influx since the Amazon show came out. Happy to see more people enjoying the game, especially the building element.
All good ideas guys! Actually Valedictorian is what I call one of the tiers on my Patreon page. So either Honor Roll or Student Council are great ideas for them as a collective.
I see all that plastic and all I think is: "hey, that's some Jet right there!" Seriously, getting plastic out of those lunchboxes is probably the best part of this setup.
Out of all the fallout 4 channels, you are in my Top 3 favorite's. It's a breathe of fresh air to see someone who can just appreciate the base game for what it is, with very little complains ever. Also. You're creativity with the settlement materials is basically unmatched.. Great job! 👍👍
The Fallout series of games have become my favorite, with F4 being the best. I read all kinds of comments of how the story sucks, gameplay glitches, you name it, people have dissed the game because of whatever reason they use. I don't get it, but I also don't expect others to think like me; that's what being a true individual is all about. I have learned through trial/error, how to accomplish many building tasks, but the Skooled Zone has gone above and beyond my meager triumphs with this aspect of the game. You have increased my enjoyment with F4 tremendously and added so many more dimensions to the whole package. The replay-ability of this game is unprecedented. One play-through, I found a whole line up of the two-shot weapons, this time through at level 70, I've only gotten the Overseer's Guardian combat rifle. At least that one you can buy! Some of the random things characters say change each time, especially companions. Hearing something you haven't heard before makes me realize the depth of this game. Not perfect, but good enough to still enjoy playing since it came out. Really excited about F76, hope it pans out and I'll like it as much or more than F4. If my internet goes out though, which it does too often, guess I'll have to pop in F4 until it comes back on since F76 is online-based. Thanks again!
Really? Great news! Looks like I'm pre-ordering to get the BETA access, guess I'll see more then, but hoping that I don't need a constant internet connection to play. There was one Need For Speed game that required constant internet, which seemed ridiculous to me. I know friends in rural areas that still don't have internet access, but love to play video games. And my connection can go out at any time...
Oh my, I'm on a survival playthrough and this, this could be good for getting bottlecap mines - explosives are ludicrous at the best of times, in survival they're practically essential.
I really appreciate these videos... I'm completely new to the fallout series, never really got into it. But I absolutely love fallout 4. Playing it for the first time right now
4 is actually a very good game but, yeah, nothing tops New Vegas. If you want, I can recommend you some graphic mods so that the game doesn't feel that old. These are purely graphic and texture remasters so it won't change your overall experience, just make the graphics a tad more bearable especially considering that you're gonna be going to it after Fallout 4
What an insanely humble UA-camr. That's a rare thing to see on this platform! Your personality paired alongside the FO4 content makes this channel awesome! I hope to see you continue stuff like this with Fallout 76! You earned a new sub, tonight, my man!
Ice Cold Quantum was my favorite. A great way to maximize this is to disarm Tin Can traps. Each one gives you 9 cans, which is 18 steel, for 6 lunchboxes. Dump all the cans into your press and enjoy.
Man! This is the coolest thing I've seen with manufacturing. I got rich by selling clean suits, I have about a million caps, so I won't be doing this for profit. But I will definitely be doing this to farm Robot Models until I have enough to display a table-top model Army. Thanks so much for teaching this Prof. Paul. You're the very best!!
Good idea. I think there might be enough. If not we can use Bobble-heads for the King and Queen pieces, Or the Mother Icon figure since there are 2 in the game. Other than that, maybe duplicate the Wooden Toy Soldier. Although, I'm not a huge fan of duplication.
need 16 pawns. I wonder? I agree, for this channel dups are out of the question. Need a larger board though. Can we glitch rugs or something? lots to play with this week.. :-)
I had made a heavy weapons production line a little while back. I had accumulated a fuck ton of resources and had stored them. I built a production line in the Mechanist’s layer, and set up the machines to build heavy weapons. I made 800 mini guns, 300 fat mans, and over 12000 assault rifles. Five years later, I still have them to sell because most vendors don’t carry more than 1000 caps at a time.
You can absolutely reuse them constantly, they just don't always repair with one pass through a hopper... works better with a conveyer to a sorter, to a storage, to a hopper... The more times it passes through something like that, the more chances it has of being fixed, and if you set it up like a firing range, you can sort the lunchboxes to recycle, while the prizes go to the prize collection storage... set it up with a laser detector, connected to a counter, so you can keep track of your score.
Hey Paul, you could setup a conveyor loop with a diverter that keeps lunch boxes on the loop and stores all other items. Put a conveyor laser tripwire that activates the stationary gun trap positioned to shoot the boxes. Dont know if paintballs work to open the lunch boxes, but if they do, now you would have no ammo cost and a fully automated process to farm items from lunch boxes! Gonna try it after I get my contest build submitted to you in the next day or two.
the loop work about a 50 to 100 boxes would be all you would need, whacking them on the belt works, the boxes can be sold for 7 caps the colas sells for 14 caps, flatware (non plastic) can be use to make more boxes with out having to scrap them. have not seen anything better then the nuka-cola
Did you try this out yourself? Did it end up completely automated? How about the profits? He doesn't necessarily talk about profit per hour here or per material spent so I'm not sure if this should be tried out. It does look hella fun though. I've never fiddled with the factory things in this game so maybe I should start up an entrepreneur fella and make a ton of caps!
I've been doing this using the recycler from manufacturing extended and I've only gotten 4 duds out of 30 lunchboxes. I put them through the recycler at least 6 times and got prizes on every opening. Great idea thanks!
Thank you. I've been looking for a practical use for this application at the Mechanist's Lair which I thought would be the perfect place for production/processing factory. Vault-Tec lunch boxes! I could imagine common Joes of the wastes needing these as they toil and spin at their assigned settlements. Ingenious!
I've been working on the same thing. From what I've seen, lunch boxes found in the wastes have better loot than those mass produced. Also: turrets, traps, mortars and enemies cannot open these lunch boxes for you but settlers CAN. I hope the skooled zone can do what I'm trying and make a video with lunch boxes moving into the firing lanes of settlers before traveling onward toward the sorters (forks, knives, spoons becoming new boxes.) It works, sort of, but skooled zone could take this one mod-free to the house. Hint: use glass warehouse walls to keep the boxes on the line
Paul, Remember too that if you have scavengers stands in each of your settlements then I'm sure you will not need to purchase steel. In fact I was thinking about increasing each of settlements to 2 scavenger stands instead of 1. Excellent video as always.
Beside a few farmers and maybe some guards shopkeeper and provisioner 70% always attending scavenging stations getting 2 junks per day in my settlements.
For those without DLC, like my current PC version of Fallout 4 (planning on getting the DLC somewhat soon), you can do purified water and vegetable starch (adhesive) using tato, corn and mutfruit. Plants regrow every ingame day with a cell reset, so just fast travel (or walk/vertibird if in Survival mode) away and then back.Water can be mass produced by having several large industrial purifiers in a settlement with a small pond, lake, river or the Atlantic Ocean available, such as Murkwater Construction Site, The Castle, Sanctuary, Spectacle Island or Taffington Boathouse. The workshop will have purified water slowly added to its inventory, and you can farm adhesive in the same settlement if you really wanted to. I'd do it at Spectacle Island, and have all but two or three settlers as farmers, and the two or three as guards and artillerymen, with a security force mostly bolstered by turrets. It should be a settlement you visit often and can check the workshop inventory for water and pick the food off of the plants, as well as a cooking station, campfire spit or stove to make the starch.
I remember seeing a vid about 6 months ago (when I first started playing) using lunchbox manufacturing for caps, but he didn't open the lunch boxes first. Still a great tip for those of us that stick with no mods. Glad to see you're still at it. Also love the loot drop bin ideas.
I love your enthusiasm for this game. Most people are negative regarding Fallout 4, not you. I also thoroughly enjoyed this game. Keep up the great content m8. 👍🏻👍🏻
Although you can't pick them up into your inventory you can put them onto a conveyor belt that goes into a container (such as the builder). Then you can loot them out of the container and sell them for 10 caps each.
getting rich in MUCH much less effort = just sell all the purified water your settlement generates and you get more caps in trades with npcs than you need
So, i tried it. Didnt get much, only made 6. However, i had 14 in inventory that i previously looted. On a whim, i dropped them & jimmied ( as in Big Jim) ,& actually got more loot. Mostly cutlery, but got 2 baseballs , a noodle cup, bubblegum & chalk. By far, this is best channel I've watched in terms of teaching, usefulness & fun. Best part, NO MODS!!! Edit ( 5 mins later ) smacked half them open again 9/10 had loot. Granted pencils, cutlery ( plastic & steel),a noodle cup & more gum. I wont get rich, but i'mof sschool of thought that it all adds up!!
couple questions 1 have you ever loaded the unopened lunchboxes without opening them first to see if it may give better prizes 2 can you load the used lunchboxes into your steel and reuse them to build more items ?
A good game for fallout like the ones in nuka world would be to have lunchboxes lined up on a shelf and having a conveyor belt taking the prizes to the winner...i'm going to work with it a bit tonight.
After watching it a few times, i noticed you can tell the dud from the full ones becouse it asked you to " (A) Take" it, all the duds never prompted you to take them again. See time on vid of 18:48 at that point he is wacking the duds and the only one to have something is the one that prompted him to take it.
Very good eye Mr. E. I noticed that too during editing. I didn't notice while recording though. Now if I could only figure out what makes some duds and others openable after recycling then that would be boss.
Ok, so i set this up in one of my settlements and ran ten boxes when i put them though again and two of them were refreshed. I put them though again and none did it. so then i had an odd thought and i put another ten fresh boxes and opened them then added ten more fresh boxes with the ten old ones, out of the old ten i got eight to open, i repeated this several times and it seems haveing unopened boxes in with opened ones increases your chances for them to refresh. that or i was getting overly lucky.
The manufacturing extended mod gives you a recycler in manufacturing so if you play with mods you can scrap the lunchboxes and make new ones once they are duds. Infinite profit.
Shared your vid, on Fallout 4 Settlement Building facebook page. Guy was asking how to get more money. hehe. I get notification this morning for your vid, 5 mins later see his question. haha when it works it works hehe 😀
the easiest way to make money is making multiple water purifications and selling the water. I usually do this at the castle since i mostly play minuet men, but its very possible to start this process as early as sanctuary.
Johnny Nieves Yes, that is another way. Paul had mentioned the water production quite a while ago. It seems though that you need to collect it on a regular basis. I think each community will produce a certain amount and then it will stop increasing. I haven't tried to verify this but it just sorta feels that way.
if i may add to this great info; you can increase the speed of not the Builders but production overall by making a row of Builders, then connect them all up, with Splitters, to a faster speed of uptake/output from the Vacuum Hopper [the hopper 'turned up'] - that way, each Builder will still be the same speed of course, but if you are putting out materials (Junk) into 1,2,3,4,5,etc Builders in a row, even if they are outputting a little after one another and still at a slower pace per machine - you'll still have a nice huge output filing out one by one from your row of Builders. Mass production! great video thanks again
Could call your patreon teaching assistants Whats your luck at? Im wondering if it has anything to do with the odds of whats inside. I remember your luck playing a part in the preserved pie claw machine. Also i dont think the lunchbox takes up weight. If it dont, unlimited ammo for the junk jet maybe?
Saraphiene Haldritch it’s the new fallout game Bethesda teased it yesterday The reason for 76 is the vault number and it will most likely be in West Virginia watch the trailer its on UA-cam and their Twitter
Soon as he said the vault tech lunch boxes I’m like omg of course (I thought they couldn’t be made so I thought they were rare asf and made sure I collected every single one I could find)
I was going to add to this comment about how I love the cap mines that are made from the lunch boxes and I thought the method for making money was making those mines then selling but now I’m at the part where you are opening the boxes and I never would have thought you could open ones you made
at one point you can have all money from shops if you do it the shops can"t update with new staff i convert all my caps too bullets for my gun i use then if a want something i trade bullets for weapon or armor
Hey, I just did this but I ran the emptied lunch boxes back into the Builder but nothing came out. The Builder DID have 30 Vault-Tech Lunch Boxes listed, so I took them all and dropped 'em. Every One of them had loot. I put the empties back through the Builder again, and again Every Lunch Box had loot once I took them OUT of the builder. This is on PC so I don't know if there is a difference, but in theory a person could make ONE lunch box, de-loot it, put it back through the builder and get more loot, forever. Of the 30 boxes I made and recycled them three times, I got 120 'loots', mostly forks and such, but a whole pile of Apples and a couple dozen Nuka Colas and a whole bunch of Noodle Cups, probably 20 anyway.
I want you to know: you're the main push that forced my decision to play this game again unmodded. And finish those frelling dlc achievements and force those homes to accept NEW FLOORING! And roofs.
I get my Xbox today and I look forward to this. You do a good job Skooled and have given me plenty of ideas. I'll probably get every settlement and build before I complete all the missions. The first thing you get is Preston giving you settlement options.
Bart Scanland as well as pens, pencils, chalk and cigarettes/cigars- zero weigth plastic, wood, lead, asbestos and cloth. i really started to love these items when i began my survival run. but the best is pre war money - it's not only weightless, but also quite valuable.
@83rdox same here, cigs, cartons, cigars, boxes and pre-war money have their own box in my sanctuary. Although I did cannibalize 170 packets of cigs for the cloth yesterday
Yup... Sanctuary hills always very quickly becomes my water source since I can put a LOT of water purifiers on the river and tie them into the sanctuary power grid using the lights I place along the shore line. Before too long I am paying for everything I buy with purified water. I will also make rounds periodically to sell off a ton of water to everyone I can. Sheng has nothing on my water merchanting operation... I am his primary supplier.
My go-to money maker is to start with Int 6 and get the Science perk. As soon as I bring the Minutemen to Sanctuary Hills I set up a large water purifier. It provides clean water for the settlement mission and produces extra purified water to sell. By the time I visit Diamond City I have 2-3 of them, making hundreds of caps worth of water daily.
Shoutout from 2024, I accidentally discovered lunchboxes were good for money since you can goblin hoard steel with little effort. i did NOT know you could open them so that's what i'm trying after work now lol. Also thanks for not being obnoxious, I can actually watch your videos without grinding my teeth.
I couldnt tell ya the countless number of times i was unable to grab a lunchbox while exploring cuz it opened prematurely. But i never connected the dots. This is really clever Paul. I thought u went loco 4 a sec when u were setting them up all neat like. But this is clever. And i can tell u ive never heard of this. Never crossed my mind. Genius. Bravo 👏 Edit: i was gunna say, whaddya think about a bunch of 'em in a makeshift hopper n a grenade? Should open a few dozen right? Maybe...
Benjamen Schimpf not a bad idea if you have a good hundred plus them use a cheapy grenade to open them all. Be even better if you set up a make shift collection bin ontop of a floor of conveyor belt so once opened you press a button and the conveyor belt turn on and take it all to be sorted and stored.
Thanks Benjamen! And I'll have to test if a grenade opens them. Didn't think about that. If it does, it opens up a lot of possibilities with this technique.
Skooled Zone im betting itll work. The reason i think so is because ive come across prematurely opened ones all the time. Usually after explosions or even an explosive legendary weapon. Could get intresting! Love it! Good work and thanks!
Always instructional, informative and entertaining! My FO4 experience has been enriched beyond compare and my playtime extended perhaps immeasurably! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Paul, You could keep naming the Patreons as the Varsity Team since it goes well with the Hall of Fame board. You could also name the people that promote the channel as Crossing Guards/Bus Drivers because they direct viewers/traffic to the channel and, if you ever have moderators for your channel, they could be named the Star Athletes. I like the Varsity Team and Crossing Guards/Bus Drivers ideas the best since they are learning along with the rest of us but they are also doing more for the channel than the average viewer like myself. Sincerely, Jennifer M. Montgomery
Nice ideas Jennifer. If I ever bring moderators on board, I could call them hall monitors. Although I call the guy helping me moderate the subreddit a substitute teacher. ;-)
Call him: The Vice Principle and the Other Moderators: Substitute Teachers, your Patrons: Members of the Skoole Board, with the best that month being Chair of the Skoole Board.
I tried this on a three-story manufacturing plant, with the top two floors being production; each floor have three object builders. The bottom floor was where the collection of lunchboxes would travel along a conveyor belt, where I would use a flamer to open the lunchboxes. The items would then be sorted and stored accordingly, with lunchboxes in one storage and produced items in another. I left a rubber band around the trigger of my controller, had around 100,000 Flamer Fuel in my inventory and let it go for about half-an-hour. First of all, this set up produced a TON of lunchboxes, which once opened are hell to get rid off - hence the need for conveyor storage. Second of all, the lunch boxes did produce a lot of items - I had plenty of food to spare - however, despite how long I left it for, I had no Mini-Nukes. The items produced had no good value, so I was left at an expensive drop in steel from producing the lunchboxes, without any compensation from value of produced items, so I didn't find this build beneficial at all. I'm not sure what went wrong, or if I was extremely unlucky (despite 10 luck), but this may just be me. Never the less, it was a fun concept to experiment with, but I think I'll just stick to producing guns!
not to mention you can actually do the dupe glitch and be able to get millions of steal easily to make insane amounts of the lunch boxes for more profit
I think it might be based on level. I decided to try this out with a new character with high luck, but despite continuing to increase luck stat have yet to get better prize than a Nuka Cola, despite having hit 100 lunch boxes roughly 10 times each. I never have trouble finding robot models, in wild lunchboxes, with my higher level characters.
holy crap. I just found this video, and had NEVER touched the manufacturing stuff in my settlements, but I'm going to go try this when I get home tonight from work!

True facts. But don't you think saying, "Companies and criminals" is redundant? 🤔
@ga kuddzu: Fair enough. The only difference between a criminal empire and a company is their ability to use the legal system to their own ends. Companies use the government, criminals use their own private army of thugs.

Bee Rind, that's a great idea actually because it doesn't actually cost caps to make Bottlecap Mines. However, you _do_ get caps back when they explode! A decent amount too 👍
apparently you can infinitely reopen them....there worth more as the box lol.

What about calling your patreons "honor roll students"?
Ooh, I like Honor Roll. Another catchy one could be. Valedictorian, which rhymes with "Ad Victoriam" : )
What about the student council
Todd Jr Nelson FALLOUT 76
All good ideas guys! Actually Valedictorian is what I call one of the tiers on my Patreon page. So either Honor Roll or Student Council are great ideas for them as a collective.
I'd just call em' gullible
I see all that plastic and all I think is: "hey, that's some Jet right there!" Seriously, getting plastic out of those lunchboxes is probably the best part of this setup.
Definitely. Jet and Bottlecap Mines are two more profit items that can definitely make this worth doing.
Fiend
Out of all the fallout 4 channels, you are in my Top 3 favorite's. It's a breathe of fresh air to see someone who can just appreciate the base game for what it is, with very little complains ever. Also. You're creativity with the settlement materials is basically unmatched.. Great job! 👍👍
What a great comment. Thanks Robert!!
i think the same
The Fallout series of games have become my favorite, with F4 being the best.
John Stockman pretty sure F76 has an offline story mode
Really?
Playing it for the first time right now
yo play new vegas you will not regret it
@@alire1397 he wont regret playing any fallout game you know?
Fallout 3 is amazing
@@lennyking1340 what about 76? I'm sure heaps of people regret that 😂
4 is actually a very good game but, yeah, nothing tops New Vegas.
I agree 100%. This dude seems down to earth. I subbed as well :)
I concur
Ice Cold Quantum was my favorite.
A great way to maximize this is to disarm Tin Can traps. Each one gives you 9 cans, which is 18 steel, for 6 lunchboxes. Dump all the cans into your press and enjoy.
but tin can traps unfortunately don't respawn. so, after visiting all locations you rely on other sources for steel.
Jedi, Are the enough Models to make a chess Board? Think we can get Skoold on that? lol
Jedi Clone Mark FALLOUT 76
I would just use a common junk item as pawns. Use the models for the named pieces. You guys have great imaginations.
Galaxy brain
Hey Paul, you could setup a conveyor loop with a diverter that keeps lunch boxes on the loop and stores all other items. Put a conveyor laser tripwire that activates the stationary gun trap positioned to shoot the boxes. Dont know if paintballs work to open the lunch boxes, but if they do, now you would have no ammo cost and a fully automated process to farm items from lunch boxes! Gonna try it after I get my contest build submitted to you in the next day or two.
Great idea man!
Justin Brockway - thanks! : )
Sandbox Apocalypse thats pretty darn clever
the loop work about a 50 to 100 boxes would be all you would need, whacking them on the belt works, the boxes can be sold for 7 caps the colas sells for 14 caps, flatware (non plastic) can be use to make more boxes with out having to scrap them. have not seen anything better then the nuka-cola
Skooled hit my list again, so glad the renewed fallout love is helping these old videos get lit back up!
I've been doing this using the recycler from manufacturing extended and I've only gotten 4 duds out of 30 lunchboxes. I put them through the recycler at least 6 times and got prizes on every opening. Great idea thanks!
In my first ever playthrough back in 2015 without dlcs I had 80k + caps just by looting and selling
Thank you. I've been looking for a practical use for this application at the Mechanist's Lair which I thought would be the perfect place for production/processing factory. Vault-Tec lunch boxes! I could imagine common Joes of the wastes needing these as they toil and spin at their assigned settlements. Ingenious!
How do I get these manufacturing machines?
Radar Rider
Bro i had no clue you could do this
Beside a few farmers and maybe some guards shopkeeper and provisioner 70% always attending scavenging stations getting 2 junks per day in my settlements.
But selling the boxes would yield 10 caps (for a cost of 3 steel) each, on top of the "prizes" in each box. Doesn't that add to the value?
Then you can't reload them
I remember seeing a vid about 6 months ago (when I first started playing) using lunchbox manufacturing for caps, but he didn't open the lunch boxes first. Still a great tip for those of us that stick with no mods. Glad to see you're still at it. Also love the loot drop bin ideas.
Exactly. Lots of videos about just making them, but none that opened them. That's what made this unique. Thanks for watching!
I made billions with water
Yeah it just takes a really long time before you get the water to sell
I love your enthusiasm for this game. Most people are negative regarding Fallout 4, not you. I also thoroughly enjoyed this game. Keep up the great content m8. 👍🏻👍🏻
When your done getting your stuff out of the lunchbox put them in a auto Bucher and get your steel back
I love this game and all the surprises that can be discover. Thanks for taking a moment showing this stuff dude! Cheers
You can tell which ones are duds because they don't give you the option to take them.
Although you can't pick them up into your inventory you can put them onto a conveyor belt that goes into a container (such as the builder). Then you can loot them out of the container and sell them for 10 caps each.
I would never have thought of that. That's why I love your channel.
Menacer FALLOUT 76
getting rich in MUCH much less effort = just sell all the purified water your settlement generates and you get more caps in trades with npcs than you need
Keep up with this great Content! I'm still playing Fallout 4 and since 76 isn't any good, I will be playing 4 for another few years.
This manufacturing made me redo my whole game .. I’m loving this!! I can’t wait!
You might like the sequel as well :) ua-cam.com/video/ms_WK8OSroA/v-deo.html
I know it's years later but I just found your content recently and been having a blast learning!
Anyone else from 2024 on a new playthrough because of the show? It me
Yep absolutely
Sigh yes lol
New playthrough in 2024? Yes.
Because of the show? No.
couple questions 1 have you ever loaded the unopened lunchboxes without opening them first to see if it may give better prizes 2 can you load the used lunchboxes into your steel and reuse them to build more items ?
My jaw DROPPED when they got repaired in the hopper, SO COOL!
2021 and I'm still watching Fallout 4 tutorials lmao
Im never going to do this 😂 but i watched the whole video. Interesting idea
Video logic:
"How to make a lot of money real quick?"
"Vegas baby!"
New Vegas
A good game for fallout like the ones in nuka world would be to have lunchboxes lined up on a shelf and having a conveyor belt taking the prizes to the winner...i'm going to work with it a bit tonight.
This is amazingly helpful I didn’t know you could open the manufactured lunch boxes
If a voice could sound like a smile, it's this guy's voice.
Thanks for legit making my day 😁
Lunchboxes sell for around 10 caps depending on both your Charisma and Perks
trully humble
i can see your efforts to do a original content
im glad to see there's still people like you!
By the way, nice video bro!
There is just something about fallout 4. I've put SOOOO many hours into this game and each playthrough is so unique.
Totally agree. Can't wait for Fallout 5!
Maybe you haven't got many subscribers but you got loyal ones. That is the most important thing.
I couldn't help myself. I had to become a Patron on Patreon. Keep up the good work!
Shared your vid, on Fallout 4 Settlement Building facebook page. Guy was asking how to get more money. hehe. I get notification this morning for your vid, 5 mins later see his question. haha when it works it works hehe 😀
What Is your facebook name

hehe
the easiest way to make money is making multiple water purifications and selling the water. I usually do this at the castle since i mostly play minuet men, but its very possible to start this process as early as sanctuary.
Johnny Nieves
Yes, that is another way. Paul had mentioned the water production quite a while ago. It seems though that you need to collect it on a regular basis. I think each community will produce a certain amount and then it will stop increasing. I haven't tried to verify this but it just sorta feels that way.
Same here. 2024 playthrough with no mods. Highly appreciated this video
if i may add to this great info; you can increase the speed of not the Builders but production overall by making a row of Builders, then connect them all up, with Splitters, to a faster speed of uptake/output from the Vacuum Hopper [the hopper 'turned up'] - that way, each Builder will still be the same speed of course, but if you are putting out materials (Junk) into 1,2,3,4,5,etc Builders in a row, even if they are outputting a little after one another and still at a slower pace per machine - you'll still have a nice huge output filing out one by one from your row of Builders. Mass production!
great video thanks again
Could call your patreon teaching assistants
Whats your luck at? Im wondering if it has anything to do with the odds of whats inside. I remember your luck playing a part in the preserved pie claw machine. Also i dont think the lunchbox takes up weight. If it dont, unlimited ammo for the junk jet maybe?
OMG the junk jet idea is great but lunch boxes are misc items not junk items do would they even work? Awesome idea though
David Watts - not sure if I just got "lucky" but my Luck stat was 1 and I got the pie in 3 tries :)

Just announced today. I seen the trailer. Can't wait till e3
David Watts I saw it this morning I’m pumped my dude
This will be great for survival when I’d rather not go scavenge for caps in containers. Thanks Paul! #GetRichQuick
OMG Paul this was a great video!! Thank you, I never thought of this. Absolutely awesome video!

Mr. Trashcan I KNOW MAN YYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
TripodsForMe what does Fallout 76 mean?
Saraphiene Haldritch it’s the new fallout game Bethesda teased it yesterday The reason for 76 is the vault number and it will most likely be in West Virginia watch the trailer its on UA-cam and their Twitter
TripodsForMe Thank you!
This is the first useful thing I've seen come out of FO4 manufacturing.
👍
Soon as he said the vault tech lunch boxes I’m like omg of course (I thought they couldn’t be made so I thought they were rare asf and made sure I collected every single one I could find)
I was going to add to this comment about how I love the cap mines that are made from the lunch boxes and I thought the method for making money was making those mines then selling but now I’m at the part where you are opening the boxes and I never would have thought you could open ones you made
13:34 Ahh yes, the classic four pronged spoon!
Haha, uh spork?
Lmao... made me rewatch
Another great video. Please keep doing this Paul
Will do. And thanks for watching!
at one point you can have all money from shops if you do it the shops can"t update with new staff i convert all my caps too bullets for my gun i use then if a want something i trade bullets for weapon or armor
Well huh. Two years later and nobody cares that I found this better way to do it. Oh well for you guys.
That Benny Hill music NEVER gets old. Not ever! Love it.👍
I want you to know: you're the main push that forced my decision to play this game again unmodded. And finish those frelling dlc achievements and force those homes to accept NEW FLOORING! And roofs.
Right on 👍
I'm so looking forward to doing the roof thing, just watched that last night
Knew about making profit on lunchboxes but didn't know you could bust open manufactured ones for prizes. Thanks!
Wow your graphics are amazing!
Honestly man- id need your whole build step by step as if explaining to a child- you have a way of explaining like everyone knows.
Best thing to do is to start with this video: ua-cam.com/video/Bk2SWNyshFA/v-deo.html :-)
I get my Xbox today and I look forward to this. You do a good job Skooled and have given me plenty of ideas. I'll probably get every settlement and build before I complete all the missions. The first thing you get is Preston giving you settlement options.
👍
Very helpful, keep up the awesome work!
I think the vault tec lunch boxes weigh nothing so you can carry as many as you like
You're correct. And I think they can be sold to vendors as well.
Always worth picking up VT lunch boxes, napkins, folders, burnt magazines, etc. All zero weight items that can be sold.
Bart Scanland
as well as pens, pencils, chalk and cigarettes/cigars- zero weigth plastic, wood, lead, asbestos and cloth. i really started to love these items when i began my survival run. but the best is pre war money - it's not only weightless, but also quite valuable.
@83rdox same here, cigs, cartons, cigars, boxes and pre-war money have their own box in my sanctuary. Although I did cannibalize 170 packets of cigs for the cloth yesterday
Build water purification capacity at your settlements, pretty well breaks the games economy.
You're right about the water farming, I mentioned that here: ua-cam.com/video/Bk2SWNyshFA/v-deo.htmlm50s
Saraphiene Haldritch now we're cookin with gas! Almost completely automated! Good thinkin' :)
Paul,
You could keep naming the Patreons as the Varsity Team since it goes well with the Hall of Fame board.
Sincerely,
Jennifer M.
I love this video because it's an amazing way to make money and actually makes a lot of sense for the backstory of my OC
Never the less, it was a fun concept to experiment with, but I think I'll just stick to producing guns!
you deserve way more subs
Much appreciated dude 👊
I tried flipping suits of armor and lost money. Oops!
Dude, you are delightful, and damn this is a neat trick. Kudos.
Very informative watch, I recently started playing FO4 again after 4 years not touching it.
not to mention you can actually do the dupe glitch and be able to get millions of steal easily to make insane amounts of the lunch boxes for more profit
Name your Patreons, The Student Counsel
Did you try the paintball gun trap to open the lunchboxes?
I haven't tried it yet. But it might be hard to coordinate the slow shot rate of the paintball gun with the output of the lunchboxes so they hit.
If you increase your luck will you get better items from the lunch boxes?
lucas b I think it is pure randomness. I have low luck yet have pulled 4 fusion cores in a row out of lunchboxes (non manufactured)
Great idea, we need someone to do a luck test to see
I think it might be based on level.
