This guy sounds like 90% of shop floor layout engineers (IEs) that I've met in life. Seriously, if we just brought the facilities up to OSHA standards, this place could start hiring tomorrow. Well done, sir. Genius.
What? Are you saying there are too many exposed wires around? Actually being a single wire, makes the return path the ground or floors, etc. That means anyone touching one should become a crispy power resistor. The game overlooks some things to make it easier for the less the technical knowledge crowd, which numbers huge. So there are many things that leave certain elements of our real world out. And... in FO4... that's what Stimpaks are for! I see dead folks around the wasteland at these raider locales that have been skewered, yet I have never fallen or had such an event happen to me. I see limbs getting shot off, but never me. Like a sci fi movie, one must immerse oneself into the story line or one will cause problems of one's own making with staying with the story. Sci Fi movies are notorious for manipulations of the physical realm in less than acceptable ways. Like the "gravity" in Avatar's world, or the bird-copter-gunships in "Oblivion". Lot's of fun though from any perspective, so you do you.
@@marsar1775 Considering that in the Fallout "timeline" the world's technology got pretty much stuck at late '40s early '50s, so our '70s OSHA never existed. IronGunner Yeah, I've heard that they simplified certain things like doing away with the with the very annoying repair system. That...sounds more complex than what previous Fallout titles had to offer. I'm looking forward to the day when I can buy or build a computer that can run the Fallout 4 program. Thank you, right now I am rendering a video on how the switches were wired, that should be up later tonight. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask, if I can help I will.
I'm looking forward to it. I wanted to know about linking the scavenger station to the factory for possibly unlimited supplies and the factory brakes down components into its raw form is that possible? so having a vacuum on a work station to brake down items collected from the settlers on the scavenger station to its raw form ending scavenger stations max cap per day and having a automated factory. is that possible?
Unfortunately not for me. You need mods to break all items down to the components and I am on PS4 so no mods. That is really why I designed this the way I did, so each item had it's own hopper. So the lead hopper may have a pencil (lead + wood). Then the builder will use the lead and the wood goes back into a bin to be put back into the settlement workbench. The other reason it is built like this is the way the vacuum hopper works. Let's say I need copper+Lead+Fertilizer. If the settlement workshop has 1000 copper it will take 1000 copper before it takes any lead or fertilizer. With my setup, they are presorted so the item with lead, fertilizer or copper all drop onto the conveyor at the same time from their own hoppers.
The sorted hoppers are a great idea to get around the DLC not having a recycling machine to break things down into components. It's quick, easy, and allows you to just dump your scavenged stuff and pre-load it for production later.
there is a strange way to reduce some of the scrap, but it costs you some components. sort out everything that contains steel (maybe except for 'pure steel') and make steel balls (which only consist of steel) out of it - this gives you all the other components in this scrap. same goes with: sort out everything that contains plastic and make halloween pumpkins (which only consist of plastic) out of it and sort out rubber for kickballs. then you have steel balls as 'pure steel source', pumpkins as 'pure plastic source' and kickballs as 'pure rubber source' - as well as several other components from breaking down the original items. the downside is, that when you break up the steel balls, pumpkins and kickballs you get less components back than you need to produce them - but if you have enough steel, plastic and rubber anyway, that's a general way to reduce the amount different scrap items. you can even make it more complex. if you e.g. sort out everything that contains cloth, fiberglass and plastic, you can produce jangles the moon monkeys and directly lead them into a pumpkin producer, which gives you back the cloth and the fiberglass. a buttercup/steel-ball- line also would work, but you need a way to make buttercup fall over since it's too large when it stands on the conveyor belts and won't go into the steel-ball-machine. and unfortunately the rule of thumb is: the more products you make, the more components you loose.
I first watched this video about a year ago. I just watched it again with the same feeling of awe over the engineering of that ammo factory. The circuit theory in the wiring, a full settlement-to-hopper-to-settlement junk return loop, multiple floors, decoration and signage. That factory is amazing. Thanks for sharing.
the fact you did this from consol, spending the time to physically lay it out is amazing. how well it works is utterly amazing. if there was a multiplayer economy you'd be king.
What a legend. I just had 4 ammo plants and connected to storage, nothing quite so beautiful as this masterpiece. The game is so complex and has so many build options, it’s intimidating to put these all together without being an engineer 😂 Thanks so much for sharing what a beautiful thing a factory can be. Excellent job!
I think you are both as nuts as I am....LOL. Personally I thing a copper hopper could hop about as much copper as a woodchuck could chuck wood, if a woodchuck could chuck wood. (within +/- 3%)
This was an astounding build.....it took SSSSSOOOOOO much stuff to replicate this factory....but i did it, got everything but your nice office done. I just started playing Fallout 4 just a few days ago, and it took 3 days to gather all the resources. It should be noted that this factory setup could be slightly adjusted to make any factory if you wanted to make anything other than ammo. I had to guess how you did your wiring throughout your building, but the wiring video you did was a GREAT help. THANK YOU!!!
Wow that’s over the top and REALLY impressive! I’m on pc so I’m not gonna scavenge materials… 100% gonna mod them in but I gotta try and do something like this. My greatest accomplishment so far was building my own house with a front door that opened at the flip of the switch. I wired it so that when I closed it from the inside the front door was locked and no one could get in. Then I got irritated with the other settlers being able to get into the house when there was power to the exterior switch so I put another switch right next to it to basically lock the front door to the settlers when I’m gone haha. And on the third and fourth floor I have the generator that powers all of sanctuary and wire routing for the different elements of the town. That doesn’t really compare to your setup though 😂
This is a really dope setup. Looks just like a real factory. Only thing better would be to be able to have settlers work it for you. Good thing this is here for console people especially ps4 users who got stiffed by sony for not getting mods.
Bro, I don't know what you do for a living, but I feel like you're a genius. This is amazing - you are amazing. I'm not even gonna try and replicate this. Great job!
I've made a similar factory, it's not that hard, just a lot of specifics you have to take note of. You could probably make this factory if you knew what you are doing, in less than 4 hours. I only say 4 because I tend to always mix up the wires by accident >< but other than that it could take no more than 2 hours but that's assuming you are a boss at building and can instantly turn and place each piece and wire it within a 30-60minute period. But like I said the devil is in the details, which can be such a pain in the ass
Brandon Crosby Everything is a dream. I'm doing alright. How about you? Edit: I'm pretty sure the guy that did this is making a whole lot more than you. He's older. He's boring. He knows all the nerdy stuff. He's doing alright. Insults here are for the weak.
I’ve been researching Fo4 building and manufacturing for a month and UA-cam's Algorithm finally showed me this! Maybe since I’m a premium member I don’t get to see all the monetary content gems. What a godsend. I was getting frustrated with all the tutorials from millennials with OCD jerking the camera view around relentlessly until my neck cracks. Thanks for a smooth camera, and concise tutorial with no bullshit. Bravo, it’s perfect even 2 years old.
Thanks for that. Probably didn't show because I don't have a lot of content, it is not because it is a "monetary content gem" LOL. It is not monetized..
This blew me away! i have just started playing and had no idea you could do something like this and without mods too! thank you for the inspiring video, i cant wait to get my factory up and running!
Great job. I think I spent around 700 hours on this game (also on PS4) and I never properly used anything from this dlc. I intend to change that when I play the game on Xbox in the future.
Well, I'm about 6 years late to the party, but I'd like to say thank you for making this video, I'm in the process of making a militarized settlement at Starlight Drive-in and seeing how this all worked when put together is making my job a lot easier.
Wow! This looks so much like the actual industrial facilities I've been in... have you ever gotten a call from ATF, asking about your unlicensed ammo factory? :) Very nice!
The best design i have seen by far. All the guides on how to make a similar factory doesn't even come close to this. I know its complex and a lot of work to do again but a lot of us would really enjoy a construction walk through for this.
Are you a factory assembly engineer!?! If not, you should consider a career change! Your first contribution to your new profession should be the COPPER HOPPER! XD
Peabody1001 Damn! The world will never reap the engineering marvels of the COPPER HOPPER!!!! Well, at any rate thank you for your contributions to society. Including this video. Enjoy your retirement sir. I'm desperately trying to mimic this system and the wiring has got me "F.U.B.A.R.ed." That's alright though, I'll make my own way though it. (Somehow! sob...)
Peabody1001 hey thanks for the helpful video, just a quick question why would my sorters not work? they look all wired up but everything just gets sent all the way through the line.
Wow .. Blast from the past … I remember watching this 7 years ago when i was trying ti learn about manufacturing… It’s a bit like a UA-cam Time capsule of sorts … Compare it to UA-cam videos today with all edits and transitions and cuts of the “ Content Creator’s ” 😅 This is how we learned back then Kids 😆 Hope Peabody 1001 is living life an having fun … Thank you sir 😉👍🏽
"I started off with a bang" he says. Ha, ha -- yeah well, I guess that's something you have to watch out for in an ammo factory. :-) (Great vid' by the way.)
First off , Awesome video ! I was absolutely blown away by the complexity of your factory and the way everything was assembled and fits together ! I know it's going on 5 years later , but a lot of people , myself included , still play Fallout 4 , so I'm wondering if you ever made or thought of making a video ( tutorial ) on how to build this factory and wire everything up ? I know I would fail horribly trying this myself without some type of guide to go by .
Hey Peabody1001! People absolutly enjoyed your videos on the ammunitions plant, I know I certainly did. I would love to see that you can share more of your elaborate, complex contraptions! It has helped me, I have already made my own version of your design, it's just a lot bigger to build multiple different types of ammunition to suit my needs and my soldiers! Thanks again man!
Wow, what an intricate system but way cool as I'm sure this is how it was intended to be done, and so interesting how you have it nicely set up and organized. Great job.
This is a very clever design. I personally usually scrounge more ammo than I know what do with, so wouldn't need something like this. But it's very cool to see how you decided to use the pieces to create this!
This absolutely blew my mind that one this could be done, but two you had the patience to make it work and look good doing it. Amazing job you did here. Just amazing!
FunForLife 16 Think you miss understand what I said. I own the game on PC with all the DLCs. I am saying I wish Peabody1001 had the game on the PC so then he could use all the amazing mods that are on the PC cuz they are never coming to the PS4. He would have a wider range of things to make.
i think you appreciate the build/scrap lifestyle of creativity in fallout 4 easily as much if not more than myself. i can tell you're proud of your creations and you should be. thats a very complex and impressive system and as someone whose designed things on a similar level i recognize that it took alot of time and patience. congratulations on your finished work.
If only making ammo components and ammo itself and then packaging it was that easy. Looks like you've got a box that seems to refine materials, sort them, shape all components, assemble them, and package them. WOW!
Hey man great video in excellent setup. I actually just got back into Fallout 4 after remembering there was a bunch of DLC stuff that I never got into. I'm not going to lie even after watching a bunch of tutorial videos I was still really confused about how things worked. But seeing your setup actually really helped me understand how everything works in a more practical sense. Thank you!
I just watched all 20 minutes of this video and was fascinated. I have to guess you have engineering and/or factory line design experience in your background. That's by far the most impressive thing I've seen in FO4. Kudos to you, good sir.
This is a great factory. I have so much work to get my factory up to this level. I like the office with all the random things to make it look like you actually work in there.
Sorry if this is obvious, but instead of having to select the same ammo type on both the computer terminal AND the switchboard, why not just hook up the hopper controls to the computer?
The computer tells the ammo plant what type of ammo to make the switches open the hoppers for the right raw materials. I do not know of any way to open hoppers with the computer, if you do, please let me know.
As a random person that you will never meet, I know my opinion means little to nothing... with that said, awesome build sir! I love the organization! Bravo
I have build some automated ammunition stations previously so I know how hard it can be you did an absolutely beautiful job! I'm probably going to steal your design.
Heinrich Berthold Put one oil into the component and it will sort out all items that have oil as one of the components. Make sure you use the "component sorter" for this. There is another sorter.
Yup, I tend to be monotone, no singing career here. My mic isn't the greatest either, although I did tweak it so it's a bit better. The combination of my monotone and a cheap mic doesn't go together well.

AgeDrain ps4 just released mods for fallout 4 a few hours ago!
Slayintrickster no u got barebones mods. nothing worth getting if you got pc or xbone. no comparison.
Bro, I don't know what you do for a living, but I feel like you're a genius. This is amazing - you are amazing. I'm not even gonna try and replicate this. Great job!
this man is a amazing engineer how long did it take you to do this whole setup
I've made a similar factory, it's not that hard, just a lot of specifics you have to take note of. You could probably make this factory if you knew what you are doing, in less than 4 hours.
I only say 4 because I tend to always mix up the wires by accident >< but other than that it could take no more than 2 hours but that's assuming you are a boss at building and can instantly turn and place each piece and wire it within a 30-60minute period.
But like I said the devil is in the details, which can be such a pain in the ass
STFU
calm down lucid its just a dream
Brandon Crosby Everything is a dream. I'm doing alright. How about you?
Edit: I'm pretty sure the guy that did this is making a whole lot more than you. He's older. He's boring. He knows all the nerdy stuff. He's doing alright. Insults here are for the weak.
I am doing just fine. More worried about you since I don't know why you would want to silence anyone.
It is not monetized..
well if this is your first UA-cam video Welcome to UA-cam
This blew me away! i have just started playing and had no idea you could do something like this and without mods too! thank you for the inspiring video, i cant wait to get my factory up and running!
Great Video! Never even knew one could do this! if you like making these, please make more. I really enjoyed it.
Far out, I'm ashamed of my poor attempt at building my factory/junk yard seeing this. This absolutely amazing build.
this might as well be an asmr video.
Great job. I think I spent around 700 hours on this game (also on PS4) and I never properly used anything from this dlc. I intend to change that when I play the game on Xbox in the future.
Would love a video on how to make all this
Well, I'm about 6 years late to the party, but I'd like to say thank you for making this video, I'm in the process of making a militarized settlement at Starlight Drive-in and seeing how this all worked when put together is making my job a lot easier.
"I'm glad Bethesda doesn't make airplanes" I about died at that part xD
This is a very cool, practical, and visually pleasing build. Additionally, you have a clear, relaxing voice. Thank you for this video.
Are you a factory assembly engineer!?! If not, you should consider a career change! Your first contribution to your new profession should be the COPPER HOPPER! XD
lol Too late I'm retired.
(Somehow! sob...)
There is a link to my video about how to wire the copper hopper switches in the description.
Peabody1001 Totally missed it. Thanks.
Peabody1001 hey thanks for the helpful video, just a quick question why would my sorters not work? they look all wired up but everything just gets sent all the way through the line.
Wow .. Blast from the past … I remember watching this 7 years ago when i was trying ti learn about manufacturing… It’s a bit like a UA-cam Time capsule of sorts … Compare it to UA-cam videos today with all edits and transitions and cuts of the “ Content Creator’s ” 😅
This is how we learned back then Kids 😆
Hope Peabody 1001 is living life an having fun … Thank you sir 😉👍🏽
"I started off with a bang" he says. Ha, ha -- yeah well, I guess that's something you have to watch out for in an ammo factory. :-) (Great vid' by the way.)
Might be old but still informative. You made me snort with your 'Thank God Bethesda don't make aeroplanes" :-)
Holy shit this is just DLC? I might have to give FO4 another playthrough, this looks cool!
GJ on the vid. Can't believe it's your first, well done!
"Thank God Bethesda doesn't make airplanes" lmao, this video was awesome man. I know I am 4 years late but this was very interesting.
had no idea that was even possible. well made.
Makes you appreciate even more the world of fallout 4.
Your build made my brain hurt and was blown away. Great stuff bro.
hopefully the manufacturing extended mod will work with ps4 when they release mods. I'll bet you will love it, nice factory.
Wow, what an intricate system but way cool as I'm sure this is how it was intended to be done, and so interesting how you have it nicely set up and organized. Great job.
you should show how to setup everything like you did
This is a very clever design. I personally usually scrounge more ammo than I know what do with, so wouldn't need something like this. But it's very cool to see how you decided to use the pieces to create this!
I think it's a very good design for a settlement, he employs the settlers and supplies the guards at the same time.
Imagine if Fallout 4 had multiplayer, coupled with the settlement dlc, increased enemies with increased difficulty. Amazing...
xCAPTNxBACONx I just creamed
multiplayer would ruin fallout for me the same way it did elder scrolls.
Mike Munro yep. great way to ruin an already great thing.
Mike Munro becausw fallout 4 abready didnt fuxk it up.....
charlie myster right. fallout 3 trumps em all.
This absolutely blew my mind that one this could be done, but two you had the patience to make it work and look good doing it. Amazing job you did here. Just amazing!
man, i suppose you can't do a step by step turtorial? loved the video!
This guy sounds like he owns an automated ammo factory in real life. (im not insulting, your voice sounds cool)
I wish you had this on a PC cuz I would love to see what you could do with mods ^_^ but anyway bad ass
wazthatme Stegall you actually can download this game on pic, I don't know about any DLC's though
FunForLife 16 Think you miss understand what I said. I own the game on PC with all the DLCs. I am saying I wish Peabody1001 had the game on the PC so then he could use all the amazing mods that are on the PC cuz they are never coming to the PS4. He would have a wider range of things to make.
wazthatme Stegall oh, I have the game for ps4, and I have a few DLC's, but not much
wazthatme Stegall if your on PC might as well spawn yourself infinite ammo
***** Not if you are role playing a factory owner who builds and then sells things -_-
Not only was this Super informative but that joke at the end was really good! Good on you buddy
That is amazing! Of course, I'm just going do my usual plan of selling drugs to buy bullets.
i think you appreciate the build/scrap lifestyle of creativity in fallout 4 easily as much if not more than myself. i can tell you're proud of your creations and you should be. thats a very complex and impressive system and as someone whose designed things on a similar level i recognize that it took alot of time and patience. congratulations on your finished work.
Keep doing stuff like this and practice your videos a few times before you upload and you might have a might fine channel.
"You're not allowed to have an opinion on something or offer advice based on what you and millions of others like duuuuuuuurrrrrrrrr." Got it chief.
lol, rabbit !
Ryan Moorey obvious troll is obvious
Dang, i want this! I'm not sure I can come close to your fantastic layout, but I'm going to attempt one of my own. Thanks for the great video!
This was awesome! +1 sub
Omg, that last joke fckn killed me hahahaha
If only making ammo components and ammo itself and then packaging it was that easy. Looks like you've got a box that seems to refine materials, sort them, shape all components, assemble them, and package them. WOW!
Can you make a tutorial of how to built it pls
Hey man great video in excellent setup. I actually just got back into Fallout 4 after remembering there was a bunch of DLC stuff that I never got into. I'm not going to lie even after watching a bunch of tutorial videos I was still really confused about how things worked. But seeing your setup actually really helped me understand how everything works in a more practical sense. Thank you!
Guy sounds like Brent from Corner Gas. Anyway the setup is legit af
devouredmartyr did you hear the actress that played Emma died?
Liam McMillen-Meyers Yeah, was pretty big news here in Ontario. Shit happens, it's definitely unfortunate though.
I just watched all 20 minutes of this video and was fascinated. I have to guess you have engineering and/or factory line design experience in your background. That's by far the most impressive thing I've seen in FO4. Kudos to you, good sir.
Thank you.
This is a great factory. I have so much work to get my factory up to this level. I like the office with all the random things to make it look like you actually work in there.
awesome video! You sound like Dale from The Walking Dead
This was awesome video. Thinking outside the box, and instead of just buying the ammo he found a pretty cool way to make it.
I don't play the game, that's why I'm asking.
Sorry, I thought you were making a suggestion. I wish it did work that way.
As a random person that you will never meet, I know my opinion means little to nothing... with that said, awesome build sir! I love the organization! Bravo
Nick Valentine is that you?
This is sick! Impressive to say the least. Awesome build!
Great video useful builds example. :)
Thank you.
I have build some automated ammunition stations previously so I know how hard it can be you did an absolutely beautiful job! I'm probably going to steal your design.
That is cool. Did you make that whole building. Also how did you get this is it part of the animatron DLC?
No, it's the contraptions DLC and the cement wall came from Wateland Workshop DLC
thanks. One more question. How do you assign a component sorter to sort one particular thing? Like how do you assign the oil sorter to sort oil?
Heinrich Berthold Put one oil into the component and it will sort out all items that have oil as one of the components. Make sure you use the "component sorter" for this. There is another sorter.
thanks
Heinrich Berthold
Best factory I have seen. Very chill video. Please consider more instructional videos, or even let's plays. Could listen to you all day.
I really liked your voice, slightly monotone, and fairly lax.
Yup, I tend to be monotone, no singing career here. My mic isn't the greatest either, although I did tweak it so it's a bit better. The combination of my monotone and a cheap mic doesn't go together well.
I have this DLC but I haven't done anything with it as of yet. After seeing this I think I'll hop on and start cranking out ammunition. Fantastic video! Subbed and looking forward to more creations and tutorials.
I just started Fallout 4 recently and was wondering how to turn on a TV 📺, then seen a counter and found this video! Amazing!! I guess I have a lot more to look forward to in this game! Great design and video!
nice work, wish i could make something like this but I'm far to impatient
Only 2 words: Truly. Incredible.
