Racism, the PAW was split due to racism at the Indiana conventions. Due to the KKK, many Black leaders did not attend the conventions because they could be murdered and many that did attend were out voted for positions due to racism. It was in the early1900s and the White members could not allow Black Bishops, Elders to be over them, so they left and formed the Pentecostal Churches of Jesus Christ, then the United Pentecostal Church, then the UPCI. This information can be found in most public libraries. We have to stop sugar coating this horrible past in the church and admit they were human and errored. We have come a long way. UPCI is fortunate have a leader like Dr. Bernard and have had a great leader like Kenneth Haney, RIP.
I love Bishop Bernard's explanations and the history he gave us. I believe thou its the church's fault why this is a problem. Both blacks and whites fault and the rest of races. U did a good job Bishop.
My question: If the Apostolic church had the power of the Holy Ghost and were on one accord, why didn't they have enough faith to endure & overcome societal pressures to be the true representation on the Body of Christ? It is disappointing the church struggled with this for so long. 😕
So what about Racism in the church or a divide on Every level it’s not just about black or white but what about Hispanic and Asian, every other race? Why are churches so focused on splitting the churches with race… black church, Hispanic church, white church etc why can’t we just come and have church without bringing any race into it? There is a need for ministers to explain we are not exclusive but inclusive to include all races! This is such a problem today. Your right All souls!
What we believe and practice as Apostolics was established in Biblical times though there was a revival of this truth in 1906 and the formation of the UPCI in 1945
Where I'm from, most areas are split along racial lines from a population standpoint. If you go into certain areas, it would not be uncommon to find a "black church" If you go in other areas, a "white church." If you go in others, a "Latino church." I think the goal would be to have the church be a rough reflection of the general population of the area so that you know you're reaching all people groups. But you can't expect a racially diverse church in an area that is 80% racially homogenous. Furthermore, I think race is significantly less relevant to anything than most people make it. I'd personally be far more concerned about successfully evangelizing all levels of society socioeconomically and culturally than being preoccupied about having an acceptable ratio of various melanin concentrations in your church. Ultimately though, all groups may not be equally receptive to the gospel. You go for those who are open to it, without consideration of their melanin concentration. Skin color should be as irrelevant as eye color or shoe size in our minds. To be preoccupied with it on any level means you have bought into the Marxist narrative and you've already lost your ability to free think.
Society is once again trying to force us to segregate by teaching our children "Critical Race Theory" which is this generations Jim Crow. We need to keep preaching Unity of the Spirit.
This sounds good but there are areas of our country where minorities are extremely small in number so pastors need to pastor the sheep God gives them and the culture of the church becomes established based upon the people who attend and are active. Thus there are UPCI churches who are culturally and numerically Jamaican. Is this wrong? I would argue it is not wrong but the music, food etc are going to be Jamaican because the sheep are mainly Jamaican. The unity is in the Holy Ghost and the reality of all races being of one Father redeemed by one saviour should be what we most cherish along with the love shed in our hearts for all brethren. As long as we do not exclude anyone based upon race or ethnicity, having a certain race as a majority is not offensive to God, IMO.
@ Marsha Evelyn - Hey sis Just to clarify “Jamaican” is not a race it’s a nationality. Anyone can be Jamaican. The country motto is “Out of many one people”. I’m confused on your statement.
@@cementprint1211 You know what she means. Jamaica is 90% black and the remaining 10% is largely multi-racial (part black). A Jamaican church is tantamount to saying a "black church" just like saying a "Mexican church" is tantamount to saying a "Latino church." Jamaica is not like America.
Very good. Listening from Jamaica
I’m glad that the core of the issue was addressed here regarding what led to the division in the first place. Good response
Let's have unity in Jesus name😇

Let there be unity in Jesus' mighty name.
We all need to do better. Heaven will be multicultural so the Church should reflect that. Thank you Pastor Bernard!
That was an excellent reply.

More heavily towards the white side, and it isn’t even close.

Love my Bishop! God bless you sir 🙌🏾
The only splits I have noticed are due to the reflection of the population.

Amen.
The Christological, and Soteriological doctrine of the UPCI was started by Jesus Christ and his 12 Apostles two thousand+ years ago.
Agreed. Who started the additional clothing-related stuff though?

There's only one race of mankind and that's the human race. People tend to socialize with whoever they choose

CRT doesn’t belong in our fellowship….
