    • @Aiden-vg4xs
      @Aiden-vg4xs 4 роки тому +5

      michael banks The reason they didn't focus on this more in their prime is because, first they released this song on the Presence album which came out in 1976 and, it wasn't too long until their prime was over. Plant was in a horrible car crash in late '75, and was clearly still recovering in '76 with no known performances by me. Yes, they did play live in '77 and '79, but it seems their Presence album was very unpopular in their catalog except for songs "Achilles Last Stand" and "Nobodys Fault But Mine." They didn't like to play their unpopular songs. So, the late 80s rolls around and then out of nowhere John Bonham chokes on his own vomit. Yes, they did do performances before late '80, but again, they didn't like performing their unpopular songs after their Presence album. Yeah, they did reunite a few times in the '80s and '90s, but no For Your Life. In the mid 2000's, UA-cam was released. In 2007, they did a performance before making their first youtube video. I guess that's why the concert is called "Celebration Day." A day they celebrate secretly announcing their first UA-cam video. And I almost forgot about it, I have no idea why they decided to play For Your Life only once throughout Led Zeppelin.

I think it was 1988 when I heard a song on the radio that I immediately loved but had never heard before. I called the station to find out what it was. It was 'Nobody's Fault But Mine'. I quickly went to the music store (remember those) and bought 'Presence' as my first Zeppelin CD. I liked the whole thing a lot. When I told some Zep fan friends I worked with about buying it and how much I liked it, one of them said, "If you liked that one, you might as well buy them all because that is their worst one." • @arbogash1852

    The fact is, this sounds better than their 77 tour. And the fact is, it's in the DNA, and not only does Jason have it, but he's kicked it up a notch. He drops those hits like jazzy H bombs. The rest of the band completely feeds off him and are able to really time their moments. The only shame was that I was not there.

      I saw Zep just once - at MSG in 1977, and I just told someone that I think that they were musically better at this show than at the one in '77. Of course, I was a mere teen at that time, and dosed to the gills, so what the hell do I know?!

    Awesome cool moment- 4:56 to 5:03. Such great feel, and attitude. Rock bands today need to learn how to use DYNAMICS in their songs. Give the songs spaces and places to BREATHE!

    When Zeppelin perform Ramble On, Good Times Bad Times, or For Your Life, it sounds like Jimmy, JPJ and Robert are playing it like they've wanted to all these years. Jimmy's thinner sounding black beauty Les Paul tone captures the studio version's tone perfectly (recorded with a Strat, overdubs layered with Les Paul & more Strat). This is just insane how beautiful it gets. This DVD is incredible

    Such a great song…a quintessential Zeppelin groove of less is more. They never released singles, either…in favor of preserving album continuity and wanting the listener to hear the entire record. That’s why you never saw LZ 45’s or B-sides. That’s another thing…Zeppelin can’t be categorized. They’re neither rock, soul, country, metal, or blues. They’re all of it! Who does that??? In 100, 200, 500+ years from now, Zeppelin will be studied like Haydn, Mozart, Bach, Tchaikovsky, etc… Bonzo would be so proud.

    To be honest, I have yet to listen to the entire O2 Arena recording, but I heard this on the radio last year, and I was just knocked out by how much it kicked ass, even more so than it did on the already awesome original studio version with the late great John B. himself on the drum kit.
    John B. would nod his head with pride to see and hear his son take it up a notch higher still, as he does so well here.

    Awesome song! Better when played live compared to the studio/album version. Kind of a shame they never put into their setlist in their 77 and 79/80 tours along with Royal Orleans and Tea for one to back up Achilles and Nobody's fault in support for Presence album.

    It's easy to watch these 02 vid's and think...yea that's Zeppelin. You have to remember these guy's have not played together for almost 3 decade's and while Jason is an excellent drummer he has his own style and different than his dad. These guy's still pulled it off and proved to be timeless!!!

One of my all time faves, one of their most overlooked and underrated tracks, and this is the ONE AND ONLY TIME they ever played in for a live audience?
