X-Japan are biggest band in Japan but they did not release much albums. THey disbanded long ago and only did some new songs since reuniting. Kurenai is very famous song.
When you look for more different bands react to Versailles. They are symphonic metal band. Faith and Decision is they masterpiece. But It is longer song. They have very strong guitar combo. Some say best in metal ☺️

Ryan K actually not , larc doesnt exist without xjapan, xjapan started the “visual kei” era in japan

    • @illidanstr8402

Ryan K also glay started with extasy record, which is xjapan’s leader yoshiki’s recording studio

Ryan K u can search more info, and glay and larc started and 90s, and they became more popular around 98 which is xjapan alrdy disbanded, and 80s japan is not really good country to start with hard rock or rockband but xjapan changed the game with their own style, sry for grammar tho

WeekEnd is a reference to an ancient belief in India, which says: "The best day to commit suicide is a Friday night, Saturday the soul is judged and Sunday night is reborn or dies."
Please, react to Kurenai- X japan🙅🙇

Thank you! I've always wondered what the suicide angle had to do with the weekend

Ah, the song that hooked me on them all those years ago. The lyrics of this are actually incredibly dark.

Passio already stated some of this but just to fill in the blanks:
X-Japan started in 1982 and disbanded in 1997. They released (only) five albums in this time (which is relatively view for Japanese standards) one of which was the one-track record "Art of Life" which took over a year to record. The band has an incredibly deep and dark history which might have come with an amount of fame completely unknown to Japanese Rock/Metal bands of the time.
They reunited in 2007 and are working on a new album. It is rumored to be released by the end of this year but it was rescheduled a few times before...the drummer writes pretty much all of the bands lyrics and songs and worked at a thousand different projects since moving to the US in 1997 (He was 17 when he founded X together with his best friend Toshi (the vocalist). 21, when he founded his own independent record label, Extasy Records, to distribute their own music. In 1992 he bought a recording studio in Hollywood). From this time onwards he also worked as a producer and might be seen as the main reason behind Dir en grey's early success. He produced 3 singles for their first full length album "Gauze".
Other bands under his label where Glay and Luna Sea (two of Japan's most successful Rock-acts).
He also contributed to the official KISS Tribute-Album "Kiss my Ass", recorded a song with Roger Taylor, helped in making Nicole Scherzinger famous and collaborated with Stan Lee on the comic "Blood Red Dragon".
Recently he wrote a song for Sarah Brightman and played the piano on a few of her concerts during her world tour.
    Enough about Yoshiki though.
Blue-Blood is still one of my favourite albums of all time. I played this record to death during my childhood ^^''. My three favourite X-Japan songs would be "Art of Life", "Rose of Pain" and "Silent Jealousy".
I have to admit though that a lot of their concerts seem overlong and repetitive if you watch them on DVD rather than stand in the crowd yourself. They still very much like to be celebrated.
If you were interested about a bit of the bands background I would recommend their movie "We are X". It's an American movie, so the structure and documentary style might make it easier for you to get your head around the band.
(If you ever want to check out other 80s metal bands listen to Sekima II who might have looked like KISS cosplayers but made pretty amazing music and wonderful live shows, SHOW-YA (my favourite all girl combo) and some of my other favourites BUCK-TICK, DEAD END, Ningen Isu and Sigh (founded in 1990) - Apart from Sekima II these bands are all still playing together. I think DEAD END are on hiatus at the moment, the singer MORRIE has another highly recommended band called Creature Creature and a solo project. He'll be playing at Joe's Pup in New York together with Kiyoharu from Kuroyume/SADS in August. I wish I could go...Joe's Pup sounds like the most intimate and cosy place...^^''.)

Always good to see X Japan reactions, as others have mentioned Kurenai from Last Live would be good, also Rusty Nail. Another band you may want to check out would be Ningen Isu (means the Human Chair). They've been around just as long as X Japan, but were never as popular.
