Ive just spent the last week or so watching all of the big fat quiz episodes and honestly the way jimmy handles himself is brilliant. I really hope he has another show like 8 out of 10 soon because the group of comedians he works with are all so good together.
It's really nice, seeing someone deal with people ruining the show for other people as we pay our hard earned money to see performances and it's not fair for it to be spoiled by others 👏🏻 Thanks Jimmy for understanding
@@livb6945 yeah the heckles are part of the show and he's had a segment where he encourages it for years, but it seemed like someone was talking and blocking the view of others. That's the bit I was referring to.
Jimmy is SO quick on his feet. Most comedians have prepared material and get distracted by hecklers. Jimmy loves it and can come up with material on the fly with his responses. That, to me, is the best comedy.
If nobody heckles him he deliberately antagonises members of the audience. Audience interaction is probably 33%-50% of his act (not a criticism, he does it excellently). To be fair it seems to be entirely off the cuff and Carr is very good at it. Plus, and I'm somewhat serious about this, I'd absolutely sew my lips shut rather than respond if I was called upon and I was in the audience.
What I love about him is even though he can be a complete savage when it comes to hecklers, he cares about his show and wants everyone, including the hecklers, to enjoy it. You see the difference between how he handles a heckler and someone who is genuinely trying to ruin other showgoers experience.
What impresses me most about Jimmy's comedy is at the end of the video he explains to those who do not understand that not everyone is going to like every joke, and that is ok.
Doesn't matter what anyone says or thinks of Jimmy---he's up there with the GREATEST, and the amazing thing is, he's totally a traditional comedian, brings nothing new to the table except his ultra-quick quips.
This hugely brave of Jimmy. You've got to have real talent and a quick mind to do prolonged audience participation on the fly. Bob Monkhouse did a little bit of it towards the end of his career, but nothing like this.
Its not technically lethal if the cause of death is wit, because his wit doesn’t deal the final blow that causes the stroke, that part is handled exclusively by the brain of the person too slow to get it but decided to go to the show anyway. Sometimes some should just save the forty quid, and just stay in to have a yell at the telly.
I'll admit I haven't really been a fan (loved the game show) but the way JC interacts with his audience brings out the best in him. When Jimmy has to think about his responses, it produces the funniest most relatable comedy. I might just check out the show when he's next in town.
