@@StuartisUnoriginal To be more specific, it's a chant that the cultist repeat during their... activities. R'lyeh is an underwater, forgotten city located somewhere deep beneath the oceans, which does not obey our laws of perspective and geometry. As you look at it, it will bend and twist, short pathways taking hours to traverse, and kilometers of steps feeling like a breeze to climb up. Inside it, C'thulhu sleeps. He's dead, as much as an ancient one can die. In this state he reaches out to us as we sleep, flooding our dreams with images of his dwelling, often causing madness and what seems like weeks long fever. It is said that his believers constantly try to wake him up and once they succeed, he will take back control over this planet. I recommend reading "Call of C'thulhu", even if you don't like horrors. Personally i very much enjoy Lovecraft's work as a form of fiction with horror elements. Stories featuring Randolph Carter are the best example.

The reason there were so many fake creeper sounds, is because this modpack secretly includes the "Sanity" mod. It doesn't show the Sanity meter, and also removed the item that helps you recover sanity. But pretty much, the longer you are in the dark, in water or rain, looking at enemies, the lower your sanity gets. And once it gets low enough then you'll start having hallucinations, like the creeper sounds. And eventually be faced with unkillable hallucination monsters, which are retextured here to be invisible except for the eyes. Ways you can still recover Sanity (at least im pretty sure) are walking on path blocks, being near campfires, shearing sheep. But they removed the flower crown. Which would have been something you could craft to help stay sane. The static jump scares have nothing to do with that mod though, they're just annoying.
This sanity system sounds similar to the one in Don’t Starve! Especially with the flower crown, although I don’t think that’s in the PS1 version. Thank you for the info
@@StuartisUnoriginal I just checked the mod list, and yes the Sanity Mod in the PS1 Edition modpack on Curseforge. They just edited it a bit. And yes It definitely is based off Don't Starve
37:30 the reason behind the name “The Slip” is that that was the original name of the nether, in fact, early versions of the update that added the nether was given out to game reviewers and when loading into the nether it still said The Slip instead of The Nether
Bro you are so creative, your builds look so nice and cosy, very jealous. As for me, i highly prefer building in creative mode, but currently trying to enjoy the slow journey of building in survival
5:54 I'm not sure if you're a Bedrock player or something but... that is a baseline feature in Java, you can dual wield literally anything in the game.
Does come with an asterisk though, as anything in your offhand can only be something the right click button is used for, like placing blocks or bonemealing crops. If you have, for example, a sword in your offhand then it's basically just there to look cool as you cannot actually swing the sword.
Im huge on all things retro and the classic textures alone cant quench my thirst for the lost art that is shoddy graphics. This video evokes a certain type of emotion I've never felt before, like dread but in a good way.
Best experience with that modpack is me recklessly installing it without even reading description to it cuz i believed i literally installing modpack with ps1-like mods. What a surprise for me it was when i saw white eyes for the first time there :D
i feel like a kid again invested in the Shadow of Israphel storyline, this style of regular commentary mixed with slowly built-up lore is an absolute treat, keep it up :D
I actually think it would be cool to have 2 versions of the mod. A normal version of the mod that has some of the soft horror elements. You know the signs, the herobrine, etc but without the jumpscare elements. And maybe a version of the mod that goes even further into the horror elements, to the point of going into creepy pasta territory. Maybe it starts off more chill but goes more into the horror elements the more in game days pass. More creepy stuff happens more frequently, as time goes on. Glitches, Jumpscares, Random structures, etc. Maybe past a certain point it just become unplayable, like in all the creepy pastas.
you can kinda acheive this by playing the modpack but removing/disabling the "Nightmare Mod", "Midnight Lurker" and "Sanity: Descent into Madness" the herobrine stuff stays bc that is handled by a different mod in the pack. But i think the above mentioned are the only "spooky thing attacks you" or fullscreen jumpscare mods hope that helps :)
its feels so unusual with the old minecraft feel to it while also having modern minecraft content also that little critter at 3:06 seems to resemble an old mob vote loser.
I love that a lot of the newer stuff has different textures to fit in better And Crying Obsidian uses its original texture as well (although it also does in the programmer art pack)
Love this video so far! Although Vanilla Minecraft does let you duel wield a pickaxe and torch in the off hand, and place them, bedrock doesn't let you do that though.
This video simultaneosly feels nostalgic, artistic, and unnerving. I didn't think that was possible for a Minecraft video, especially for one of an update that isn't real lmao
