25:00 Actually this was a feature in Minecraft for the longest time, if you didn't have a room fully enclosed (typically underground) and you tried to sleep, a mob would spawn, interrupting your sleep.
It happened if your room or home wasn't properly lit. I had a fully sealed room once and when I went to sleep a skeleton spawned and shot me in my sleep. Soon I placed an extra torch on the floor the problem was fixd.

Old Minecraft seems to have a hidden impact on the way we behave inside the game. Our approach to building and how we enjoy the game itself changes and is part of the reason why so many people are drawn to this older version of the game. Because it compels you to be creative and build structures to fulfil some fantasy compared with fulfilling some task of gathering the best items like enchanted armour etc, simply because there are no special items in this version of the game.
Me too. It's a great mix of the simplicity of old Minecraft combined with some quality of life upgrades and a few new surprises. I also love that it doesn't have the distracting annoyances I don't like in new Minecraft like phantoms, villagers, too many structures, Endermen greifing the world until all the dirt blocks have holes everywhere...

I didn't grow up with the beta versions of minecraft; my first experience was 1.4.1 when witches were introduced, but i always love seeing the creativity that people express with older versions. I've always been in love with the nostalgia that older minecraft versions give me, even though I wasn't there to experience them firsthand
5:19 Nope, you’re not the only one. I have to mentally prepare myself for it and anticipate it as the durability of the tool wanes and even in doing that when it breaks I always jump. Scares the shit out of me every time 😂

Not a beta thing but I'm a filthy casual who plays modded Bedrock(or, at least, that's how I've been playing it for the last several years) and I feel the same thing about the new Tuff sets. Just, all of it. I love how it's basically stone but with a very slightly-greenish gray that I love for some reason. I love how convenient it is, just find huge unending spots of it and just mine away at it, to use as Stonecutter fodder. It used to be another annoying inventory filler for me, like how many people felt/still feel about Diorite, Granite and Andesite, to being a block set I use in everything. That sh¡t's MY mossy cobblestone now
a while ago i decided to go back just like you, and realized i havent grown out of minecraft. I just pefer playing beta versions. It was fun to see your builds and what your imagination made you do ! thank you for sharing your experience !
There's something so warm and nostalgic seeing what other can build in Beta MC, with just the dozen block types we were given back then. Most builds in modern MC are designed to be complex and look a lot more "busy" compared to the builds you'd get from Beta MC, where you'd see some variation in the block choices, but not by a lot like you see today. I feel like MC was great when it was simplistic. Sure I love current MC, but Beta always fills me with a much warmer glow and I'm always more interested in seeing player builds in MC than I am current MC.
This was really cool and super high effort for a small channel! I look forward to seeing a part two :) as someone who also started playing during beta 1.7, This really brought me back to playing Minecraft in elementary school on my awful old laptop. Good times...
The mobs waking you up every time you went to sleep in that home is called a “nightmare” I think it either happens in certain chunks of the world or it might happen when your area around the bed isn’t lit up enough or it could be like a chance for it to happen or something
Even though Minecraft has changed so much and had a lot of very bad updates, there’s something so great in seeing the game that you loved when you were a little be practically the same years later
I see lots of people saying that old Minecraft is liminal and lonely feeling. I think that’s what made the game great to begin with. Just you, your imagination, and a nearly infinite world. It motivates me to build something special more than new Minecraft does. There’s so much added to new Minecraft that I find myself wandering, and getting distracted more often. That’s not necessarily bad, they just feel like two different games.
British accents and old minecraft bring me way back. I use to go to my old bestfriends house 12-10 years ago alot and we always played minecraft, when we got home, minecraft. It'd go from our survival world on the xbox 360 to getting on our windows 7 crap pcs to play factions and plots and hypixel, what a time to live. I know the point of this video is to relive your nostolgia but it really feels like something that was posted in 2012, the way you speak, and just the game overall, I really felt 7 years old watching a lets play again on my ipod. Great video man, have a great day.
I usually despise 100 day minecraft videos considering everyone just speedruns but this is content my guy, these are the minecraft videos I like to see. Keep up the work man seriously, you earnt a new sub and like🙏
My favourite thing about b1.7.3 is in how it inspires me to create a fleshed out, lived in world - much like this one. While I enjoy current Minecraft immensely, I never find myself building for the joy of building as often. But in those older versions of the game I seem to find myself building things like a little railway station, docks, pathways, wells, and sometimes even things like churches! Despite the limitations for building and smaller block selection, I tend to do a lot more building in beta:)
Absolutly loved this video. A beautiful mix of fast and slow paced storytelling. UA-cam is so full of creators who spend most of their time screaming and just jump-cutting through the entire video, it's so refreshing to listen to a nice calm voice - that still enjoys the occational joke - leading through this journey. I hope the journey continues :)
Bro I wanna see 200 days cuz the only thing that makes this version playable is that you don’t focus on progress more rather thinking about what to build next to make your world looks better than it was hours before, the stone slabs prolly carried the entire old Minecraft building community and tbh this one stone slabby block is the icon of this version… looking forward more 100 days as it’s insanely good to watch especially when I am 10 years old (experienced) player I mean I played this game for over 10 years (now I’m close to 20 years old) I feel like this is how Minecraft should be played unlike thinking which type of stone you gonna use to make mega underground base in 1.20.4 it’s like bro I have oak wood and stone slabsans couple of torches, about to make masterpiece build that will never look bad no matter what matierials you will use.

Outside of LTN's 100 Days videos, this one is by far my favorite. Not just in terms of the gameplay, but the editing and quality of the video itself. Hopefully you continue this series or make similar videos to this because this was an excellent watch.
This was unironically so beautiful. I felt like I was watching the old minecraft videos I grew up with but also with the modern sophistication of the 100 days format. I'm probably gonna watch this video over and over until you continue. Maybe you could even make a series out of it and compile them for the next hundred days video :)

just finding this now, honestly really love this. yes it’s a format used a lot, but yours has a great charm to it. the little snippets of typos in your script that you kept in, everything. I also had an interesting idea while watching: perhaps a series where you start at this version (or before) and then you update one major update every so often, maybe 10 or 20 days. I’d do it myself if i understood anything about making videos like this
Thanks for the idea! Currently focused on this series for now so won’t be doing that anytime soon🙏I encourage you to watch some editing videos to make it yourself ! Comment the link here if you ever make it
When I saw the thumbnail, I gasped a little. Beta 1.7.3 was the first ever Minecraft version I've ever played, and seeing you do things I struggled with as a kid did put a smile on my face. Amazing video, from the builds to even the comedic typos in the script.
Ty for this video :) I love the 100 days videos. But something that makes me feel nostalgic like playing in alpha or beta, combined with this format is even better!
I'd love to see this world advance and I'd love if you make a video of like 200 days or more in this world but in more versions so it could advance even more, loved the video ❤
Great video my friend! This was basically the version that started my Minecraft journey all those years ago. Hard to believe its been over a decade since then.
i started playing this exact version and saying right now, this is the best decision i couldve have made, the pure simplicity in this version is amazing, i didnt have this kind of fun on minecraft since like 2018, thanks for making this video because seeing your builds inspired me to play more and to start building cool stuff
this reminds me alot of Grian's smp he did with some of his friends called Minecraft Evolutions (EVO for short). I think it was around 2017 or 2018. i have quite loved that series because of the lore aspect as well as how everything changed in each version and the funny stuff all of them were doing in the server.
I recommend you to use swords to break blocks like a crafting table since it was made to be 1.5x faster than any other tools when it comes to breaking blocks.
I can not believe my first day in minecraft was 15 years ago.. I've had whole a*s conversations with people younger than that. This was a nice piece of nostalgia, thank you.
10:26 crazy building a gateway to hell in a cathedral… but I love your 100 og minecraft video whatsoever. @@StuartisUnoriginal Yup im currently watching the 200 day minecraft beta video. Your commenting is great and its really enjoyable to watch and listen to your video. 👍
i really miss all the creativity i used to have back then, with such a small amount of blocks to choose from to build, you could really appreciate what you built even from something so basic as stone blocks or old school netherrack. now it's all too overwhelming for me, lol. nontheless this video is great, i really appreciate the trip on memory lane dude :)
The version of Minecraft I started playing at! I absolutely love just coming back to this version back to back. It’s just fun to play, and somewhat more challenging, and by also making me feel old 😂.
This is probably one of if not the best 100 days videos I watched for the simple fact you're not trying to keep the viewer attention every moment and kept it very slow paced reminded me of my first minrcraft world's on pocket edition around 0.9.0 alpha or 0.10.5 alpha I wish you the best man have a great day
I got into MC during version 1.7.10. I remember it fondly because there were also a lot of great mods in that version of MC. Some of those mods have made it into modern MC, but many are still trapped in that version. I think the farthest some of them got was 1.12.
Please do 200 days. Old minecraft felt more building focused as getting the best gear really didn't take that long. I love this video my guy, hope to see more.
Wow! your calming voice and vibe really add to the old version of minecraft. Your story telling really adds significance to the game and the world. Great video. would love to see more like this.
Please chill with the sudden flashes of light in the future, I'm not even particularly sensitive to these and yet they still strained my eyes while watching at night
Sorry you got a slight strain but the way they flash on screen is definitely part of the humor. Wouldn’t work well in another way, and it’s not like it flashes in succession so people with epilepsy won’t get affected. I think this is just a personal preference of yours, haven’t heard the complaint anywhere else, sorry.
@@StuartisUnoriginal Oh, that's fair, I just figured there was no harm mentioning that. Other than that I really liked the video, it has a kinda calm and soothing vibe, which I guess might have made the flashes stand out a bit more
Old versions have a certain magic to them, you don't have any goals to complete aside from getting diamonds if you wish to do this. THE only goals you have are the one you put on yourself like building a castle or a massive bridge.. I love it
Damn, you're a really good writer, you can transmit so much emotion through your words. I can clearly see your passion... wish you the best my friend ❤
nice video. i already played beta 1.7.3 again. but after a few weeks I lost interest in it. this video now makes me want to continue playing again. thanks
25:10 I’m pretty this is happening because there is a cave somewhere below the bed. I remember having this problem once back on an early Xbox 360 version of Minecraft (which was basically Beta 1.6.6).
At 25:12 You get nightmares (Getting woken up by a mob) in beta 1.7.3 not by your light level, but if the nearby 2 blocks around the bed are blocks which mobs can spawn on. Which means there was most likely an empty set of blocks behind the wall that allowed monsters to spawn.
200 Days is officially HERE: ua-cam.com/video/oGJP7runq_0/v-deo.html ENJOY

When I saw the thumbnail, I gasped a little. Beta 1.7.3 was the first ever Minecraft version I've ever played, and seeing you do things I struggled with as a kid did put a smile on my face. Amazing video, from the builds to even the comedic typos in the script.
Ty for this video :) I love the 100 days videos. But something that makes me feel nostalgic like playing in alpha or beta, combined with this format is even better!
I'd love to see this world advance and I'd love if you make a video of like 200 days or more in this world but in more versions so it could advance even more, loved the video ❤
As a beta player, this brings me back. Now I feel old.
Great video my friend! This was basically the version that started my Minecraft journey all those years ago. Hard to believe its been over a decade since then.
Had a bit of tears in my eyes there at the end.
All those memories. Thank you, friend.
My absolute pleasure
All the old texture packs r so nostalgic. It reminds me of when my brother and I would play Minecraft together on our Xbox 360.
I just came from 9 hours work, tired and stressed. I'm here watching the og Minecraft
Just a relax I need 🤗
Put your feet up and enjoy!
i started playing this exact version and saying right now, this is the best decision i couldve have made, the pure simplicity in this version is amazing, i didnt have this kind of fun on minecraft since like 2018, thanks for making this video because seeing your builds inspired me to play more and to start building cool stuff
Really cool video, your voice is perfect for these kinds of videos. Please make more Beta content, it's really fun to watch! ^^
i love how when you mess up when reading something in the script that part that you messed up just randomly appears with the vine boom sound
this reminds me alot of Grian's smp he did with some of his friends called Minecraft Evolutions (EVO for short).
You're so creatively funny and have a lot of the same passion as I do for old Minecraft. You deserve the sub!
10:26 crazy building a gateway to hell in a cathedral…
but I love your 100 og minecraft video whatsoever. It feels like im back in the old days, where I came home from school and went straight to minecraft. Its so nostalgic. Every texture and sound. You just gaines a new sub! Thank you for this video 🙏
@@Arian_Durden I’m so glad you enjoyed it, there’s a 200 Days video up now! Go check it out❤️thanks for the support
@@StuartisUnoriginal Yup im currently watching the 200 day minecraft beta video. Your commenting is great and its really enjoyable to watch and listen to your video. 👍
This was one of the only 100 days videos that I really enjoyed. I would love to see a part two.
Dude I LOVE how your builds come out. I would love a 200 days to this.
Thank you! It’s in production :)
i really miss all the creativity i used to have back then, with such a small amount of blocks to choose from to build, you could really appreciate what you built even from something so basic as stone blocks or old school netherrack. now it's all too overwhelming for me, lol.
nontheless this video is great, i really appreciate the trip on memory lane dude :)
The version of Minecraft I started playing at! I absolutely love just coming back to this version back to back. It’s just fun to play, and somewhat more challenging, and by also making me feel old 😂.
The script for this video is that of a novel. Great work :)
the tower with the netherrack looks a bit suspicious to me but great video nonetheless
criminally underrated
w 100 days
anyways so im planning to do this but for 1 irl year and after that, i wanna travel to the farlands
opinions
What a beautiful testament to a piece of our youth. Thank you
Never thought I would actually want to play an earlier version since I love all the new blocks. Inspiring!
This is probably one of if not the best 100 days videos I watched for the simple fact you're not trying to keep the viewer attention every moment and kept it very slow paced reminded me of my first minrcraft world's on pocket edition around 0.9.0 alpha or 0.10.5 alpha I wish you the best man have a great day
This comment means a lot, thank you :)
I got into MC during version 1.7.10. I remember it fondly because there were also a lot of great mods in that version of MC. Some of those mods have made it into modern MC, but many are still trapped in that version. I think the farthest some of them got was 1.12.
This brings me back memories of playing minecraft 1.5.2
I love it
that was a huge wave of nostalgia.
i love how calm and relaxed this is compared to other stuff nowadays
Hmm yes indeed, we love the blocky lighting and old textures, old minecraft was a chefs kiss.
Bro please make another one of these, like a 200 days in minecraft beta, this was so fun to watch
beautiful video man, easy binge watch
Damn, you're a really good writer, you can transmit so much emotion through your words. I can clearly see your passion... wish you the best my friend ❤
nice video. i already played beta 1.7.3 again. but after a few weeks I lost interest in it. this video now makes me want to continue playing again. thanks
Recently went back to b1.7.3 as well, lots of fun especially when you find a server to call home.
Loved it! Please make more Beta content, it's fun to watch.
this video is awesome! your style is so refreshing and exactly what i enjoy!
Thank you for your comment! Having a rough day and this is exactly what I needed :)
Well made video I believe you'll be at 10k before the end of the year
25:10 I’m pretty this is happening because there is a cave somewhere below the bed. I remember having this problem once back on an early Xbox 360 version of Minecraft (which was basically Beta 1.6.6).
At 25:12
You get nightmares (Getting woken up by a mob) in beta 1.7.3 not by your light level, but if the nearby 2 blocks around the bed are blocks which mobs can spawn on. Which means there was most likely an empty set of blocks behind the wall that allowed monsters to spawn.
this was nice to watch thank you
It it so…..😢…. The golden age it just……gone…..you are a legend to play a 100 day in that version thank you really much
I wish I could stay committed to Minecraft worlds bro
Love the video btw
