This is how pretty much all reviews should be done. No fluffing around. No filler material. Just useful information and straight to the point. Well done.
Thank you! Also how I think a review should be which is why I try to stick to the info people need to know.
@@Techtablets ....you forgot to address one of the most important parts, it's folding capabilities.
TechTablets‘ very insightful reviews coupled with Dénia’s exquisite scenery are surely a winning combination.
I usually watch your phone reviews, but I'm glad I watched this one. Beautiful scenery.
Thanks!!
As a Dutchman I must agree, this one looks like a very nicely designed foldable e-bike, especially that weight of 13kg.
Seems perfect for traveling to work, in combination with using public (train) transport, when a normal non-e-bike foldable does not suffice when the travel distance from dest. train station > work requires a second bus or metro trip. An e-bikes like this sounds ideal and more flexible time wise.
And indeed very nice scenic town and area of the Costa Blanca, with those cliffs, for an e-bike review like this :)
Thanks for watching. Yes i think it's quite a good one better than the D4S I reviewed
Not sure if Chris mentioned and I missed it, but the bike is over 19kg with the battery. Not light.
Beautiful place in Spain. Thanks for telling us where it is
I rode it 85km up hills and thru a plantation estate, gravel and road. After the ride still had 3 bars out of 5 left. No complaints for the price i paid for.
Great review Chris! This bike looks great! Really wish I could do more biking here in Hong Kong, but a bit harder to own a bike here 🤣 by the way props for all of that video shooting while riding, I would have probably crashed if I had attempted!
Thanks. Yes it's a great city road style ebike. I can't wait to get my M1 Pro. Fat wheels and 500W. Some of those shots were a bit tricky, gopro helps. And a few shots were done on my Fold 2.
i love your e-scooter / e-bike reviews. I want to purchase one but still waiting for the BEST of the BEST :))
Oh best of of the best 🤣 Well i will have a fat tire Fiido M1 Pro soon. 500W motor and it has a much higher top speed. But heavy and no removable battery. And a dual motor scooter later on.
@@Techtablets thx for the info, yeah Iam that kind of a guy who wants always the best for his money :D
Your reviews are great mate.
Glad you like them!
wow i never really looked at this bike this way. the color threw me off a bit but this in depth look makes me want this. this is an incredibly nicely built machine. i wish it came in black though
Be cool to see the baby maker bike review as I wonder would the difference in price be worth it especially considering the Fiido X is releasing soon
Hi Chris - Great video!
After months of riding - how does the D11 and M1 Pro hold up?
I'm gonna use mine for urban deliveries (30+ km a day and a lot of stops) and I'm concerned about the durability. I'm at 75 kg.
Excellent review. Very informative.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you very much for your reviews.
Very informative and extremely well made,
I have few questions
1. does this bike a fully electrical mode like scooter?
2. Is there aways to change the seat to make it more comfortable and to add a suspension.
Thank you very much for your help and your channel..
I wish you well..
Very nice bike...and beautiful design...only one missing thing is front suspension which makes your ride much comfortable...I think it is perfect citybike
Yes, true
looking to order from the Fiido website UK version. Can i use full electric to go from complete stand still? or do I need to pedal and build up some speed beforehand?
Great review, but it is a fold-able bike and I would have liked to see more comments on its fold-abilty. It doesn't look easy to carry onto a public transport system, just for lifting into a car boot? How will the fold joints hold up, will it become a weak point in the frame over time?
That plastic accelerator lever looks like it will break off in no time.
This nature is awesome! Definitely not a bad place to be during a lockdown :D
Not at all!! Thanks for watching!
Fidodido is back as a bike! 😅
do you know if the brake caliper is post mount of flat mount compatible?
Can you please review the kugoo b2 I have it and it’s brilliant
Is the accelerator available for the bikes that are sold in the EU as well?
It would be interesting to see the fiido m1 on some of those rougher roads.
M1 Pro is coming! And it will be tested on some rougher stuff for sure.
Are you gonna review the new fiido x?
Which one is the best fiido d series vs fiido m series ? Im gonna use it mostly for city and put on transport but even for some off roads
Thinking to buy a D11, do you still have it after a year?
Is that possible to buy a spare battery for this bike? I am looking but not able to find one.
Still happy 3 years later? And were to buy new battery?
Brilliant 😎
I'm getting one and putting Tannus Airless tyres on😃
Wise move zero worries about punctures then!
Are the tires on this bike suitable for dirt and gravel tracks?
Spain vs New Zealand. Tough choice. Both are very beautiful places to live...
Prefer NZ
Can it be changed to MPH on the Speedo and the ODO?
What are you doing on a 20 inch wheel fold-able with a 15mph limit that requires hydraulic brakes? 160mm mechanical discs seem more than adequate for the intended purpose.
Could you fit a rear rack on this bike?
can u change the battery level to a percentage?
i didnt understand whats is that cable behind the bike.
How much range can you do?
Hey
Does the bike assist you when you pedal or do you have to apply throttle?
Watch the video and you will find out the answer
Sorry to ask, but since you don't seem like a short individual, can I ask your height and weight?
From the video, you looked very confortable... (or confortable enough :))...
Great review.
does the seat lock?
Thanks for this great video. How well does the bike fit into a suitcase?
Not great it would have to be a very big one.
Fiido d11 or Himo Z20, wich one is better?
where is this place??
Dammit, I ordered this and didn’t realise they took away the handle twist throttle from the d2s 😭 really hope it’s still as fun to go full electric.
Hey Edward how did you get on with the throttle control? I can't pedal (knee problem) so would prefer the twist control too, ideally.
@@liammullan2197 it’s great 👍🏻 you could happily go full electric for a 40/50 minute journey, roughly with no peddling. However if you need to go up a steep hill I’d say you need to give it some assisted pedalling. If you can’t peddle I’d say ensure you stay away from hills. However you have zero suspension so unless you lift up off the seat standing on peddles if you hit bumps your going to feel it big 😂 the cheaper models and m1 seem to have suspension which id consider if you have bad knees.
@@Ed-zi9ju Cheers for taking the time to reply. Gonna save my pennies then :-)
Will it ever come a time when the battery drains completely to zero and u have to buy a new battery pack?
I own a Fiido D2 for the past 2 years... 3 weeks ago the locking mechanism of the handle bars straight up broke while I was driving... The just folded when I was in motion :3 Luckily I was calm and gently slowed down... In the past the mechanism had undone itself and again it started to fold while I was in motion... Even the frame folding mechanism has done it once... Again, I was in motion O_O
Now the mechanism of the handle bars is broken... I just went ahead and DIYed a solution for keeping it down (because there is no way to keep it "locked" anymore... I wonder though... Does Fiido seel replacement parts?...
Hmm makes me think a rigid version with no folding or QR handlebars would be better option
Hi Chris, Sorry to ask but what would be your height and weight? Im a big guy so Im trying to work out if this will be suitable for me.
78 kilos and 1.82m
Up to 6 foot 2 I think this bike will accommodate. The only drawback of this bike is the HANDLEBARS. They arent adjustable. They are set at about 110 cm. Approx 43 inches. So if you are very tall it will mean you have to raise the saddle and hunch over the handle bars 5 6" to 6 2" this bike is ideal.
The problem is you can't lock it outdoor without taking off the battery, otherwise, the battery will be stolen if you live in a city like London. However, the battery costs only $350. As well, there is no front suspension, if you ride in cities like London with a lot of potholes, you might end up having pains in the butt lol
awesomr review
Glad you enjoyed it
Hi Chris. I've had this bike for a month and a half and, sadly enough, can't agree with your review. My main concern is build quality and support. My bike factory setup was almost unusable: the chain was way too loose for the first 4 gears and I had to use the higher gears (5-7), the frame hinge was way too stiff and unfolding the bike required the equivalent force of lifting a 60kg weight bar.
On the second day, I got a flat tire (which I've never had on this route for 3 years of riding other bikes) and took it to a bike shop: there were metal shards between the tyre and the tube, probably leftovers from the manufacturing process. The tech also warned me about another concern I had: the rear wheel makes a weird noise when cycling with the motor off. He suspects of poor lubrication which might lead to wear out.
However, here's my biggest issue: the seat post insert is rotated slightly to the right, so the seat hits my right inner thigh on every cycle, and it doesn't look to be fixable.
There are more annoyances:
· The seat will not stay in place and keeps tilting upwards while riding. Screwing it further down won't help, will have to take it to the tech once again
· Mud guard was not included in my unit, had to buy it separately
· Missing seat post ruler
· The engine is very weak compared to other 250W ebikes I've ridden
· The front bar will not lock when folded, it might keep bumping the frame/fork and chipping the paint out
· Same for the folding mechanism: looks good on camera, but I've ended up not folding the bike at all. You have to unplug the battery, lower the seat post, fold the bike and rotate the front wheel so that the bike won't fall to the left side. And make sure the bike isn't resting on the crank cover
· As for the weight, it's far from 12kg: slightly over 18kg once you insert the battery/seat
My current feeling with this bike is remorse. I wish I hadn't bought this bike. For a bit more I would've got a similar bike with proper customer support in a local shop.
Thanks, that's the review i needed. What is your height, mate and is it comfortable for someone like 1.84m tall?
Really interesting points from you, thanks.
Nice!
But me im intressted n the Xiaomi one, Himo i think it is called...
ah so i was right with the area ;D We have a couple places in Calpe and as well the resto Las Bairetas in denia is a clear favorite!
Oh nice!
Thanks for the good review (as always on your channel).
I have a question about the weight - you mention only 13 kg, but from what I`ve heard (as I had interested in purchasing this e-bike for my girl) it is 13kg WITHOUT the battery. Plus the battery (4kg) the total weight is 17kg - which statement is true? thanks
yeah it's 17kg with the battery
Is that comfortable for 1,85m user height? Will knees touch the steering bar?
It will be im 1.82 and its fine.
Does it have the latest eu requirement of engraved serial number?
I have never heard of this requirement. Can you explain?
Hi Chris. You can't unlock the speed on the D11 like you can on the D4S. Also the engine is less powerful and smaller than the D4S's even though it's also 250W. Not all Watts are alike ;)
Thanks for the info! I was lead to believe you could with this same D4S controller. My bad.
Still d11 is nicer
@@gideonMorrison Agreed it does look the best out of all the Fiido units
I think the ds4 for is a better overall choice at almost half the price.
From Philippines here 🇵🇭 the foldable bike has EIS and OIS i bet on it 😂✌️
Opinions, FIIDO D11 or FIIDO M1?
I saw this bike before it's great but non-lockable battery is a no-go for me.
I bought the D4s after seeing your review last july while this one was still a project on indigogo.
Anyways thank you very much for the test.
Would you please test out the Himo z20? Similar but removable & lockable battery
If they send me a loan one yes.
Himo z20 is not far off 10kg heavier!!!
@@huzcer win some, loose some... With the removable/lockable battery. I admit if they had found a way to lock the battery and tighty, D11 would have been unmatchable, despite it's 250usd more price
@@luchdvilleneuve6384 just take the battery with you or put bike inside? (it's foldable after all). or find some own way to lock? D11 will have some price deals no doubt. surely it will be unlocked down the line also for speed?
@@huzcer you can't lock the battery therefore you have to take it out with you each time you park it. Otherwise believe me in cities it will be stolen 9/10 Times even 10/10.
hey TT, I just received the D12 model and i only have pedal assist mode. the throttle only speed I get is max 6km/h what am I doing wrong?
Sounds like a faulty throttle. Talk to your seller to get that fixed.
@@Techtablets thankyou
Nice one
hi guys. How much PSI of air do I need to load for Fiido D11? Thanks 😇
It's normally on the tires like 50 PSI max I think for this model But I would run 36-40 PSI max otherwise it's too hard the ride.
Im interested in not byke, but great view.
Thanks for watching!
I like this nice ebike.
Nice video
Have this motor noise?
Very Nice
Can you replace the seat? say to a wider bigger one?
Yes it's possible
If you get a back wheel punture how do you repair it as nobody seems to know
Like any another bike. You remove the rim and replace the inner tube. Or use slime anti puncture to repair it.
How tall are you? Do you think the seatpost can get high enough for someone 190cm?
Hi, I'm 184cm. For 190cm I think it would.
can you take this on the plane? just wondered.
Not the battery no, it's over 100wh
Hi i am 1,55 height is good for me?
Is the throttle removable? I cant have a throttle according to local laws unfortunately.
Yes you could unplug it.
so how do u get a suspension seat post?
can't?
very dumb for battery placement.
no suspension no buy.
Buy a car.
Mine arrived with back wheel issues straigh out from the box . I'm struggeling to get warranty solutions. otherwise is a great bike.
Good day all. Does anybody know if the battery must be removed with a key or can anybody remove the battery/seat post?
Battery can't be locked. Easily removable.
Is there a ebike that uses the kinetic energy to charge that battery
while not completely kinetic energy, the Eahora/Paselec bikes has a sort of recharging method when the bike is going downhill with PAS 0-1 and around 19mph i think at the flats.
I had one of these for 500 km's. Afterwards, the electronics went defective. Support from Fiido not available.
Had a look at the cables --> they are by far too thin, no wonder the bike failed.
I would not buy a bike from Fiido again.
Which one is better, fiido m1 or fiido d11?
M1, better quality
Do you know how long it last in full electric?
About 20km
I got 30 miles out of mine. But I live in an area that has a few hills.
Chris are you also a bike fan:)))))
Yes! I've ridden all my life.
Shame it doesn’t have a belt drive like the ADO air 20.
May i ask what your height is? I've read comments that this model is awkward for riders who are 6 feet (183cm) and taller.
178cm it's okay for me.
@@Techtablets Great, thanks for the reply!
One of the main reasons I bought my D2S is that the battery location is not immediately obvious and you would need a Philips screwdriver to remove it. That battery is far too easy for vandals to steal off that bike and having had various accessories stolen from my bike over the years I am sure the allure of stealing that battery would be too strong for some of the scum living in my town to resist.
Maybe the new Fiido X (to release soon) is a better choice. What city do you live?
Can u put bigger tires on it?
Wider tires yes, but bigger now limited to 20-inch.
Checking out the laptop - Fusion5 13th Gen, 512GB(M 2) and 8GB(DDR5) okay
Only 8GB of ram that isn’t enough.
Thank you, not the editor video, surf the net, email only ?
Recommended laptop 14" £300 maximum okay
what is minimum age and height for this bike for kids?
Depends on the rider. But I would say 12 years? Hight info on on their website.
Nice bike if you don't mind the cutbacks... no suspensu=ion, etc. Frankly i's very overpriced.
Problem is you ain't always going to want to take out the battery when you lock it and someone could easily steal the battery
You will if you are worry about it
I have the D2S hate having always take the bike up stairs just charge the battery
I got a lock that secured the seat post and battery
@@jamesl9371judging from some of the posts you’d have thought they don’t exist…well done you
Was a toss up between this and the L3. I've decided to go with this one as the L3 looks like a clown bike.
Good move the 14" wheels make the L3 like a tiny clown bike. The D11 is also good and cheaper.
I take it the seat height is not adjustable?
You can see a height scale on the seat post in the video, so it should be adjustable.
Hi, I do show it in the first 30 seconds of the video 00:28 and later on. All the info is in the video or you can see it (Pretty self-explanatory from the footage)
Road bikes generally don’t need dedicated front suspension. If the fork is carbon for instance it will still absorb plenty of shocks. Even metal forks have elasticity,
You obviously don't know the roads or bicycle paths we have here. 😉
These roads are quite poor so it would be great to have something. I have to run a lower PSI on the front tire to help.
@@Techtablets you are making it more prone to puncture but ok. Everybody can handle their own level of vibration. I just remember slapping some schwalbe all terrain tires on roadbikes and going off road with them just fine.
@@juergenlilien2067 i think Romania counts as same or worse.
Be warned that any electric bike in EU with twist and go accelerator , or thumb accelerator that enables motion without pedalling is not classified as a Pedelec but moped . A moped requires registration, motorbike insurance , motorcycle helmet, cannot go on bikeways or footpaths. The police are now fining heavily across Europe ebikes that are not Pedelecs.
I don't care. Because this is such a traditional looking bike I just fake pedal whenever I see the police.
Sadly with the accelerator on the handlebar, it's not allowed in the EU.
Which EU country?
Some countries Indeed ban them. Others allow it. And others allow it under the conditions of immatriculation and special insurance... We are one as a continent but independantly we have many lame différences 🤭
By the way, on Fiido d11 the throttle is, correct me if i'm wrong Chris, removable which makes it then allowed everywhere even in italy.
I could be removed yes. And still give you the 3 levels of motor assistance and limited to 25km/h
@@Techtablets Germany
Had to lock up the bike without getting stolen
Price?
Check description
12.9 kg without the battery. :)
Yeh they keep forgetting that
It's 18.5kg
you dont have a sit too lmao
I chose d4s because it looks like normal bike, this bike looks flash, flash = high on thief's radar.
Good point there!
Is it New Zealand accent? 😄
No suspension = in places where I live it would mean im dead....
Asking my wife to buy 1 ebike like this, she said the budget could only be $200
Even though the price of my cellphone is $1300, and the price of my laptop is $1000
But for bikes can't be expensive 😭😭😭
