I started playing LOTRO on Mordor two days ago. I am a new player. I got myself universal tool kit and it is such a quality of life upgrade it's insane. Definitely worth getting
For new players, buying 5 or so Mithril Coins and going over to Lalia's Market in Bree to get the Teleport on 1 hour cooldown from her is really nice. Teleport back to Bree every hour!
Great guides, thanks. Very concise and well explained. Got back into this game after playing Return to Moria. Totally forgot about this amazing game. What a time to come back as well
just starting the game for the story I am a pensioner who can pay a little for like universal tools as i too love crafting Thankyou for you excellent input Will be following your journey
Lifetime sub was the best thing I ever got :D But I have a bunch of friends starting to play so this is very useful because as you say you don't think about it when you have had it all unlocked for ages.
yeah great for you, but a terrible deal for the company that is trying to keep the game alive. Legendary servers are full of lifetimers. No money = no lotro
Very nice overview for new players. Something new and casual players may not know is that every week, there are different discounts and a freebie code. With patience or luck, it's possible to pay anywhere from -20% to -30% and around US holidays sometimes even larger discounts are offered. The discounts are always listed in the store itself but the freebie codes are only posted on SSG's LOTRO website and forums. The discounts and codes change every Thursday. Also note that many of the simple consumables are common daily or weekly Hobbit Gifts which every player gets free. There are things I've never had to buy because the Hobbit Gifts keep me stocked up - admittedly these things are sometimes items I wouldn't buy, such as bonus experience and the like, but it's always nice to get something for free!
Hello there! New player here. I subscribed as I love that I can change of difficulty of monsters and I love questing. I really appreciate your videos with all super helpful information. I bought enduring universal toolkit as I love crafting and will be saving for those bags slots etc. Thank you again for the info. :}
Just got into the game for the first time and I was wondering what I should prioritize since I got VIP to play on Mordor. Great video and it really made all of it look way less confusing !
Thank you for your video! Like many of its kind in other 'free-to-play' MMOs, LOTR's actual money store is hard to distinguish between valuable and money-grubbing items. Your input here will help to determine the genuinely helpful items from the rest! For example, I just found out from your notes that my horse had a permanent speed buff (both for one and all accounts simultaneously)! This was a pleasant surprise. I also learned about the multiple crafting buffs, which was satisfying and piqued my interest in exploring more in-game features. Unfortunately, the obligatory bag extension is the same everywhere, which is a shame, but well - that's just the way it is.
Yep, it's just the way it is. It's not my favorite, but it wasn't that big of a deal to unlock, and I've had it for years and it's totally worth it so /shrug
I would add the stable if you use housing, that one is really nice having it at home, not to speak about personal crafting stations :) The carry alls saved my main crafter with those 50 slots. I use one for crafting materials and another for essences.
I recently restarted the game after a forced hiatus- my gaming laptop died. When I returned, I found that my houses had been foreclosed and I had to start over. However, I am loving returning.
Thank you. I agree that it's my pleasure to support the developers. They annoy me to no end with their class rebuilds; but, without reserve, this is the greatest game I've played.
Just a note: ALL cosmetics are usable by character on the same server, if you pull them into your wardrobe tab. Only characters on other servers are not able to use appearance of them then.
Thank you for these new videos. I’m returning after a 9 year break and there’s been quite a few changes, so these videos are helpful. Would it be possible to do a video on group questing-how to access the quests, what gear you get, which ones you recommend, how the tier system works? I see people advertising for these and I’m not sure how to get involved with them.
Hi good video. You said that with mithril coins you can instantly travel to another location and back instantly for free, you can back one time for free or forerver go and back?
Once you've unlocked a fast travel destination with a mithril coin you can then use it normally just as you would any other fast travel waypoint in the game. Keep in mind that they are unique to that CHARACTER, however. If you start an alt, they will have to unlock the travel points again.
Hey Renfail! I don't know if the question is a bit unnecessary since you made a video a few days ago with the best starting classes. If so, I apologize. My question is which class would you personally (I know this is subjective but I'm asking you) take as your first class. By that I don't mean, as you already mentioned, the classes that are relatively easy to understand, but the class that you would recommend as the very first class. The class with which you want to discover everything, experience everything, etc. I think we all know that the very first class is almost always the class with which you had the most fun playing the game. By that I don't mean having fun with the class but rather the game world, the story, the places you discover and generally discovering the world you are in now. Because when it comes to classes, you can have more fun with other classes than with the first one.
I just started yesterday. I chose a dwarf because they are my favorite. MMO’s feel strange to me but I’m slowly getting used to it. It’s definitely laid back, mmos as a whole don’t feel very engaging to me.
lotro store is the way the game keeps running. when 'essential' stuff is hard to get without paying out of pocket, people will not like it. I never felt too bad about the lotro store, I'm willing to pay a little every month to enjoy a game, if I'm investing a lot of time into it. Just like any hobby. I'd rather spend $20 than many hours doing something I don't enjoy. Time's worth more than that, should be for most people I think.
@@Renfail I had to progress a little further. When you aren't even in game yet,, the store shows hardly anything. once you are out of the little tutorial area it opens up. Kind of weird.
So I was thinking about starting for a few days now and I didnt because I dont own a Credit card. So I was thinking about getting a Credit Crad, but then I saw all the pay for convenience and I am not a big fan of that. Still will watch your Videos, they are great and I will probably try out to play on a normal server. Which I could try out the Legendary server, since I love wow classic/sod I am pretty sure I would enjoy it.
Are expansions still a thing? I bought Moria back in the day but nothing after that. Curious if everything is open now for free players or if it's still up to level 95.
@Renfail I have annual VIP. I also have 100% F2P ground out the LOTRO points to buy to somewhere between Lothlorien and Rohan. Haven't touched it since Treebeard launch.

It's a MUST have
Did the same. Rocking Metalsmith, Weaponsmith and Prospector on my human Champion. Lvl 32 on first playthrough ever and loving it.
This is fantastic, as someone who hasn't played since release and is now on the new legendary servers. This is wonderful information, Thank you!

I wish it were still available. I would pay a couple of hundred for that.
Best $200 ever spent. Came back w/ 80,000 LOTRO points to burn on this stuff.

Thanks for video! I didn't know they added a 4th crafting ability. That is awesome news!
I've got a full video on the new crafting system here: ua-cam.com/video/XIOMtObjhKU/v-deo.html

EverQuest - 25 years here, former Cestus Dei (endgame raid guild). Tell me about it!
Is the Middle-Earth venturing pack worth it that's on the store? New player playing on the legendary server.
I mean, it's got some cool stuff in it if you are brand new. The universal toolkit, a mount, riding skill, all that stuff is worthwhile.

Why doesn’t my store show all of this stuff? It’s a very limited selection for me. I just started, so maybe that’s why?
May need to refresh.
