I just started playing again for the first time since I was a kid and it's been magical, as a kid I never even got past the shire since I was too young to understand, I just loved being in the environment and seeing the living characters. It was my intro to MMOs and video games as a whole.
I couldn’t have put it any other way. It’s just so magical and the world is so breathtaking. That’s why I’m doing this series, to allow people to experience the world without having people worry about the mechanics of the game itself
Really good video, great music, nice videos per class! Very good explanations and up to date compared to other guides! I am still struggling what class to start as a chill relaxed gameplay!
Loremaster in Blue line lets the pet protect you and keep mobs away. You can heal yourself and pet will act as your tank. Fun calss and with alot of potencial in the other Trait lines for group content. Other one that is real capable everywere is Guardian
Glad you enjoyed! I plan to go more in depth on each class in the future. I honestly think any class that I would recommend for a beginner I would call "chill relaxed gameplay", but if those aren't your cups of tea play what you'd like
I would personally place Warden in the 2nd category, towards the end. I see it much like you do Captain, and feel like captain is a fine first pick, but either "struggles" or feels boring to play before it gets more of its kit (much like Burglar, except captain is more survivable). The captain rotation is pretty linear and is even guided by the UI. Warden is the class that requires a lot of reading and research, especially if you're doing it as your first class. But if you're willing to put in the work to understand the combat system and how gambits work, there's nothing stopping you from playing it. It's an incredibly strong solo class. To me, the warden shines the most when you're facing off against enemies that die more slowly.
yes, for minmaxing many races can work for captain. in my parses light damage is around 25-30%, so 5% light damage boost isnt that much. while for tanking there are many race options with good traits
There are exceptions though for instance recline mini being a high elf is a 10% damage boost using a sword and the light bonus because your weapon damage determines all skill damage.
did you know the number keys on the keyboard actually correspond to the numbers on your action bar? for example you can press 4 instead of moving your mouse cursor over to number 4 and clicking it, removing the inability to be mobile as you can then use the mouse to move/look instead of click buttons. crazy i know.
How people struggle with such basic concepts as "press number key to use ability slotted with that number" boggles the mind. Like, it's not THAT difficult.....
New 64-bit Legendary Servers are fun. High populations pretty much all the time, and lag a thing of the past on these. Lots of Layering from lots of peeps though. The difficulty settings for questing change the game, but watch out on Legendary Servers for Wraiths spawning in and pwning you! I haven't tried higher than DF3 Fearless...
Warden reminds me a MMORPG released in 2008, chronicles of spellborn (dead now). I suppose one of the lotro's developpers worked on Spellborn, or maybe just liked this game (warden wasn't in the original lotro, it came only with moria, in 2009), because the combo system is very alike. I play guardian, and played champion a decade ago, maybe I will try loremaster one day.
ya, gallant display has cool animation. double spin isnt something you can do easily. its nice this skill now in all trait lines. helps with aoe in open world
Yes I definitely feel like before that captain update dropped that was something it was sorely lacking in red and yellow line. Like you have cutting attack and routing cry when you snag a kill but what else?
old vet here :) love lotro, started right before mirkwood on a 7 day free trial, been vip subbed ever since :), have maxed maxed, champ, hunter, warden, captian, lormaster, runekeeper, well maxed them in mirkwood to rohan and just upkeep them each expantion, all other classes are at least 50 and plan to come back after my computer gets fixed, would have never stoped but damn thing broke a year ago and just been to busy and poor to fix lol. looking foward to getting back into it and once I get my main through all the content i missed i play to max out a new class, my goal since mirkwood was makeing one of each class max but thats a tough thing with work and stuff, sure was nice in mirk to rohan days lol, had more time and a better job . sigh...
That’s awesome man! I first started out during Mirkwood as a f2p but I was hooked. I’ve only ever had 1-2 toons at cap before, but I did have a hunter, bear and cappy running 3mans in Minas Morgul. I’m sorry to hear about your computer man, hope you get something that works soon. I’m on Gladden and Arkenstone if you ever want to level!
I think it partially works, like there’s an effect that comes from the player and the target but not a whole lot in between. It’s still one of my favorite attacks to click by far!
@@mattybfan5180 It's such a shame too. Loremaster gets the best lightning animation imo with their big lightning storm attack but really hope one day they give RK sith lightning back
I’m not as familiar with current endgame as I probably should be, but I’d say Delvings with friends and the 3 mans on lower tiers is a good place to start.
Right now Captain is the most fun for me because I like being able to fill any role and swords and shields are cool, but honestly any class is fun to someone. I would go with Captain, brawler, rune-keeper or hunter honestly
Yes , in options. But its will fill up too much of screen if you get groups of mobs. Also is good to enable [show induction bar] so you can see enemys charging attaks that you can interrupt
I know. I really liked it for tanking but not like being super committed to tanking, but honestly I think I prefer it this way because the old yellow line acted as a supplemental line for the other two with a lot of its traits
It had no real purpose anymore you would eventually get all the good yellow stuff in blue and red anyway so it was a pointless spec that didn't scale well past 85 or so. And this is coming from a yellow guard main too, blue just completely outclassed it for tanking.
@@earthhuman192 all of which you still get btw they are just cheaper from a skill point perspective to buy. So you can get them much earlier than you would before.

After watching your segment on Captain, I just realised I've played hours of captain without even knowing I could command the ally pet
Wait until you learn that you can set pet abilities to auto-use. Makes soloing much more smooth. You'll want to use them manually in groups, though.
Mariner is a fun class if you like combos and more challenging gameplay 🤓 much like warden. Squishy as hell though
True! I don’t have a whole lot of experience outside of red mariner but it’s super fun. I intend to do deep dives into each class in the future
Great guide!

Its key mapping😁
I tried Captain long ago and got confused. I then tried minstrel and found that was more my jam (pun intended).
gonna play a warden on the EU server. Cant wait bros its been 15 years since no lag warden
I need to come back to lotro. Leveled a captain to the end of moria and got burnt out. I really enjoy the game though so I may come back.

Great video ☺️
Love Blue Hunter for solo landscape. Kite mobs into oblivion.
Me too! I picked up my hunter after years of hiatus and just fell in love with kiting like that
Love the video was thinking trying out this game some time soon :D

Beoring,lore master,rune keeper,hunter I got them to 150 I thought beoring was the best
That’s sick man. Yeah bear is so much fun, like I had one when 130 was cap and loved running all the 3mans as a tank

How do you run the game in 4k without the windows being g incredibly small
You can scale the UI
@@HPNomadIt affects almost zero ui parts. All system menus and other windows remain unusably small

Torn between Dwarf/SA Guardian, Hunter or Captain. Rock and stone.
