Hey! Please like this video or subscribe if you'd like to see the full review or if you just liked the video. What do you think of an X-M5 vs Sony ZV-E10 Mark II comparison?
Great video, thank you for the information. This will be my first Fujifilm camera and I’m equal parts excited and nervous. The features seem nice though and I think I’ll have fun with them for photography, not sure how much video I will be taking
@ I’m getting the 15-45 stock kit to start but now seriously considering a secondary lens in either the sigma 56mm or a zoom lens with OIS. Any affordable recommendation?? Also thanks!!
Dear Mr Fuji. Some of us don't use video or film simulations but would like a small camera...so...how about a camera sised between an X-T30 and an X-T5 with the bigger battery, flip out screen of the X-T3, X-T5 processor and sensor, 2 card slots, EVF from X-H2S, IBIS, leaf shutter, ISO dial and an optional X-S20-sized hand grip attached to an Arca Swiss compatible baseplate which also extends up the side (L plate) and an auto focus system on par with Sony, Canon and Nikon. That I'd buy, but not the M-X5 or X-T50, they don't work for a lot of people.
That would be an amazing camera! Sadly, with the current technology and sizes of IBIS-systems and SD-cards, it is not possible to add dual card slots and Ibis in a small enough body. I think the X-S20 or the X-Hseries comes closest to what you are looking for. But I see you did do your research already :) How about the Sony A7C II?
Thanks for the video! Please do an extensive video on autofocus capabilities in both video and photo mode as Fuji have allegedly "improved" the autofocus capabilities thats known to struggle well on older more powerful caneras such as XT5, XS20 and XH2 etc.
You can control the Film Sims with the control dial because the physical Film Sim control dial is set to "C" for "Control Dial". Otherwise, set your film sim manually. Thanks for the video!
Hey man just coming from watching your XS20 vs A6700 video. Right now I am torn between XM5 and ZVE10M2. Can you make a similar detailed comparison video for them too? If you do make, please include raw log footage w/o color grade in video. I want to shoot 4k60 mainly so an overheating test will be helpful on sunny day. I am gonna use it for travel. Also, please use same sigma 18-50 lens for both. Cheers and god bless you!
That's a good suggestion. As we speak I am working on my ZV-E10 II review. It's in a different format that my other reviews, so I won't really be able to include the Xm5. So it might be a good idea to do another dedicated comparison video. What are things that make you doubt between the 2 ? As for log, the cameras uses the same sensors and processors. So the image from my x-s20 and A6700 comparison should be the same. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@cameradeals Thanks for reply. My common doubts are handling and customization. overheating, iso performance in log and battery(as fuji has older smaller one). I want to buy Fuji as always but I am doubtful about such a small body.
@@cameradeals Also please include low light video test in log profiles. I can not find a single video on youtube for that for xs20 vs a6700. I want to know which is more usable for low light video. Thank you !!!
@@cameradeals Definitely need zv e10 m2 vs xm5. Been looking for a good video comparing. I would especially love to see stabilisation and autofocus compared between them. Stabilisation with non ois lense (Alot of people want to film with prime) so just digital stabilisation and how they campare. Ive watched so many videos on this camera but not many compare properly with zv e10 m2 or cover stabilisation and autofocus properly. Please take my request into consideration as i think its a highly needed video
I like the idea of the XM5 as a small compact every day carry but the film dial on this and on the XT50 is holding me off from both of these cameras, why didn’t they let us choose between iso or film simulation? It maybe appeal to the unknown tiktok crew but to more experienced photographers it is a dial waste unfortunately. I am curious about the new 16-55 but I would prefer something new in line like the old sigma 18-35 f1.8. As a fuji wedding shooter that would be a game change
Hi! Yeah I was mostly impressed by the small size and great power of this camera. I entirely understand your frustration about the simulation dial, I have the same. Especially since you can't assign them to anything else on both the X-M5 and X-T50. With the X-S20 you can though! (better video!). If I would travel and want to make good video, without having to carry too much weight, I do think the X-m5 is a great option if your budget isn't too high.
@@okthen8445 It's not made for experienced photographers, as it will lack many options photographers need; like an EVF and full dial control. Photo quality wise, it's more than fine. But yeah, the X-Pro / X-T lines are better for photo.
Hi, normally the kitlenses are not the best. It also depends on the camera settings, of course. Do you notice the lesser quality in film, photo or both? You could look into the 'old' 16-55 f/2.8 lens, which is more expensive than the camera itself. Though, I do think the lens is more important than the camera. Or a cheaper option: Fujifilm XF 16-80mm f/4.0 R OIS.
Maybe its because of the film jpeg , film simulation, also the lens must be changed , a prime lens 35mm or 50mm i need the background to blur when in portrait ,
@JonHenLi I see! In that case you could look into f1.2 to f.2.8 lenses. Fujifilm has some good primes, but Sigma does as well. Like the Sigma 16, 24, or 30mm f/1.4 DC DN contemporary. Sigma is cheaper l. As it is a (good) 3rd party lens.
@@cameradealsi guess 1.2 or 1.4 i was full frame user , but chooses fujifillm crop camera for experimenting , just for creativity , I’m wanna go far with this tinny little camera to see what we can do, thank you so much for the advices 🌼🙏 I will search for sigma.
Great review! The lack of ibis makes this a worthless camera for video.. footage looks horrifying! For 200 euros more you can get an XS20 that's better in every aspect
Thank you! I guess it depends on where you are in the world, but here the X-S20 body is still 500 euros more than the X-M5 body. For a walking vlogger, not having IBIS is not great, but with lens + digital stabilization, I would not say it is useless. In general, I don't think you need IBIS. Lot of it is fixed with either a steady grip, stabilizer, tripod, or even post stabilizing. Video quality wise, I also think it keeps up quite well. (maybe your YT quality is set to low?) At the moment, I am doing a big comparison between the X-M5, Sony ZV-E10 II and Nikon Z50 II. It's coming out soon!
Fuji failed in giving us a proper Xf10 successor.. No needs of fancy videos 6k or whatever, no needs of interchangeable lenses.. We were asking a real small camera, fixed lens, under a thousand euro, that doesn't mean a BS 899 with no lens!!!!

Why would an experienced photographer buy this for their photographs considering the existence of the xt and xpro line
I have the XT50 and Iso on the scroll wheel is not bad at all!
@@kamikazeephi Yeah I agree, changing ISO with the wheel is great, just not when the option selection (Fstop/iso/filmsim) is on :)
