Hi Maartje, both are great for that. The X-S20 has a dedicated vlog option on the dial, which pulls up simplified big buttons on the screen, good for vlogging and filming yourself. The autofocus of the A6700 is better, the X-S20 has its viewfinder placed on a more natural place. The A6700 can 4K 120fps slowmotion and doesn't need the fastest cards to film on > The A6700 requires V90 SD-cards in order to film in high quality. When making your choice, also look at which lens(es) you want to bring and what they cast and weigh. Make sure to buy multiple ORIGINAL batteries, as they will last longer. I would suggest a hand strap as well, for steadiness and safety. I will share this very old video of my old channel, where I talk about backpacking with a camera. Thanks! It really depends what you want to use them for. They're both great for video, but the a6700 has 4k 120fps slowmotion. The X-S20 might be a bit better for photography and feels more like a proper camera. What is it you want to use it for ?

@cameradeals thanks, first of all xs20's look is so good And cooling fan, I m all rounder maker sx 20 for only photos for me m like Videos are any option I'm used ux90 panasonic, I wnt only photography.. Battry is big size, view finder is center top, open gate, sensor is powerfull, may be all is ok x20 Sony 6700 is good, But heat issue, and a most viewfinder is corner no good...

That is the proxy file to edit with. A lighter file for your computer, as editing a RAW files is too heavy for most computers. Just make sure you turn on editing with Proxy files in your program. So you edit and como correct with those files, and when you export it, it is applied to the raw files. Meaning you still use the raw video in your video export.

@@CueShift You mean where the green bird takes off? I think I had an ISO of about 1600 or 2000 there. It really depends on your highest aperture (low number is better) and lens as well. The 4K 120fps also comes with a crop, zooming in on those pixels and noise too. But, in that shot it is the color correction bringing out the noise, mostly. Is it noisy already without color correction, or only after?

Thank you! I guess it depends on where you are in the world, but here the X-S20 body is still 500 euros more than the X-M5 body. For a walking vlogger, not having IBIS is not great, but with lens + digital stabilization, I would not say it is useless. In general, I don't think you need IBIS. Lot of it is fixed with either a steady grip, stabilizer, tripod, or even post stabilizing. Video quality wise, I also think it keeps up quite well. (maybe your YT quality is set to low?) At the moment, I am doing a big comparison between the X-M5, Sony ZV-E10 II and Nikon Z50 II. It's coming out soon!

Thank you for your kind words! Looking at what you are looking for, especially the sports part, I might go for the Sony as it has way better and faster autofocus. Personally, I barely take my waterproof cameras out, but I did film a lot in deserts, meaning lots of dust and sand. In that case, you do want a weather sealed camera, so the dust doesn't get in. Might be even worse for your camera than few water drops. If you think you will be in the dust a lot, I would upgrade to a weather sealed camera. Hope this helps :)

@@cameradeals Thanks for the reply! After stopping by a camera store, they had wonderful deals and I went on a special sale day. Felt both bodies in hand, the X-S20's screen although better in resolution, in my opinions feels "cheaper" with thicker bezels, and I couldn't see much of a difference. There were also Sigma and Tamron reps who let me try both the 18-50mm 2.8 and Tamron 17-70 2.8. Ended up trading in X-T30ii, 18-55, xc50-230(don't use), for an A6700, V90 card, sigma 18-50. I really, really wanted the Fuji to be my next move, but logically the A6700 was the better pick for my use case. I'll say your video really helped me out soo much. Of all the reviews I've seen yours was the most comprehensive. I had literally 0 questions for the salesman, I knew the facts and just wanted a feel of different combos. Once again thanks so much!

@@cameradeals Also realized, I can also "grow" into the Sony, and with a direct FF upgrade path as well. Also I don't think I'd ever use 12 bit, feels overkill

Hi, normally the kitlenses are not the best. It also depends on the camera settings, of course. Do you notice the lesser quality in film, photo or both? You could look into the 'old' 16-55 f/2.8 lens, which is more expensive than the camera itself. Though, I do think the lens is more important than the camera. Or a cheaper option: Fujifilm XF 16-80mm f/4.0 R OIS.

Maybe its because of the film jpeg , film simulation, also the lens must be changed , a prime lens 35mm or 50mm i need the background to blur when in portrait ,

@JonHenLi I see! In that case you could look into f1.2 to f.2.8 lenses. Fujifilm has some good primes, but Sigma does as well. Like the Sigma 16, 24, or 30mm f/1.4 DC DN contemporary. Sigma is cheaper l. As it is a (good) 3rd party lens.

Hi. I'm sorry to see you feel so bad about it. 1. It is good to know it costs me more time and money than I make of the channel. Which are literary a few dollars. I am making these reviews because I am passionate about them. No brand sponsors me, pays me or tells me what to say about the cameras. The sponsoring or affiliate links that you do find here, don't even make up for the money I spend on these reviews. 2. I wonder: have you actually tried both cameras for a long time? 3. These cameras are not meant for professional use, where you shoot commercials or weddings. Even then, the X-S20 would work fine as manual focus should be used. In professional work, you never use AF, always manual AF. Losing your job is on you. 4. I own the X-S20 and have used the A6700 a lot. So I know what I'm talking about with these, and other, cameras. 5. Just because you don’t like it, doesn't mean the world around you is telling bs. Not everything is a conspiracy or fake.

That's a good suggestion. As we speak I am working on my ZV-E10 II review. It's in a different format that my other reviews, so I won't really be able to include the Xm5. So it might be a good idea to do another dedicated comparison video. What are things that make you doubt between the 2 ? As for log, the cameras uses the same sensors and processors. So the image from my x-s20 and A6700 comparison should be the same. Thanks for the suggestion!

@@cameradeals Thanks for reply. My common doubts are handling and customization. overheating, iso performance in log and battery(as fuji has older smaller one). I want to buy Fuji as always but I am doubtful about such a small body.

@@cameradeals Definitely need zv e10 m2 vs xm5. Been looking for a good video comparing. I would especially love to see stabilisation and autofocus compared between them. Stabilisation with non ois lense (Alot of people want to film with prime) so just digital stabilisation and how they campare. Ive watched so many videos on this camera but not many compare properly with zv e10 m2 or cover stabilisation and autofocus properly. Please take my request into consideration as i think its a highly needed video

Looking at what you need it for, I'd recommend the A6700 as the AF is just way better :)

That would be an amazing camera! Sadly, with the current technology and sizes of IBIS-systems and SD-cards, it is not possible to add dual card slots and Ibis in a small enough body. I think the X-S20 or the X-Hseries comes closest to what you are looking for. But I see you did do your research already :) How about the Sony A7C II?

So the XT-50? If you want more things, then it'll be more expensive. Don't be gullible.

Hi! Yeah I was mostly impressed by the small size and great power of this camera. I entirely understand your frustration about the simulation dial, I have the same. Especially since you can't assign them to anything else on both the X-M5 and X-T50. With the X-S20 you can though! (better video!). If I would travel and want to make good video, without having to carry too much weight, I do think the X-m5 is a great option if your budget isn't too high.

Why would an experienced photographer buy this for their photographs considering the existence of the xt and xpro line

I have the XT50 and Iso on the scroll wheel is not bad at all!

@@kamikazeephi Yeah I agree, changing ISO with the wheel is great, just not when the option selection (Fstop/iso/filmsim) is on :)

@@okthen8445 It's not made for experienced photographers, as it will lack many options photographers need; like an EVF and full dial control. Photo quality wise, it's more than fine. But yeah, the X-Pro / X-T lines are better for photo.
