Thanks for spreading the love
Anytime... thanks for making my day :)
OMG ITS ACTUALLY TIM FOUST!!!
That's awesome!!
I thought you where married Tim, leave some beautiful ladies for the rest of mankind please :)
Tim you're great, what a voice! Sounds like you swallowed a pipe organ. I've got a deep voice but you're awesome.
"I don't like hearing messy runs." -vocal coach
"Me neither." -men's room attendant
LOLOLOL
🏆
I apologize.
I came to the comment section looking for this, thank you sir!
No need to apologise...everyone gets the runs every now and then
Brilliant
Lots of interesting textures in this arrangement :) super enjoyable.
Oh hello there
@@ChrystalWind OH hello
Peter... how come you have a "check-dot" with your name but not Tim Foust? 🧐🤔
Isn't the real Tim Foust that have made a comment in this video?
Peter, you're being very humble. You have an incredible voice as well sir....
It is a jawharp sound he is mimicking at the beginning. It is a staple in blue grass
FYI: He wasn't imitating a didgeridou. He was imitating a Jaws Harp. Similar sound but more of a resonant twang than a growl.
I don't think he was imitating a jaw harp, I think they actually use one for this song
@@Twinspinner I'm pretty sure they don't use any instruments at all- it's all vocal imitation.
Was coming here to say this. Haha. My dad plays one. I tried and chip my front tooth. Lol
@@Twinspinner Yes, he is imitating it. they have no actual instruments. All acapella
Sure sounds like he's imitating a dijeridou because it's constant.
The moment when she realizes that what Tim does in the beginning isn't even close to what he's capable of: Priceless! :-)
Imagine listening to so much production, and then hearing the real deal.
Wonder what she would say at him blowing out an amp?
You mean to say.....That is not even his final form
Man she’s awesome to watch. You can see how much she enjoys music and what she does.
The man can hit a low of G5
The Jews Harp was Adam Chance. The beat boxer is Adam Rupp. (Also the "harmonica" and I say that because it's his voice). The first singer is Austin Brown, and he's awesome.....in fact, all of them are incredible. The bass is Tim Foust, and has a 5 octave range, which is ridiculous. There isn't a "mediocre" person in the group. They're all superstars, and together are hard to resist.
I thought Jews Harp and not Didgeridoo
"Hello guy with the low voice." Oh, my sweet summer child. You don't know yet. :-)
ROFLOL .... That was my reaction, too, when she said that!!
Dear Julia, since you mentioned Tim Foust the Bass singer and Avi Kaplan the Bass from Pentatonix PLEASE react to Home Free Ring Of Fire Featuring Avi Kaplan and be aware that the final LOOOOWWWWWW note is done by Tim. Home Free has also done a number of songs from their individual homes since the virus started including a COMICAL song titled Quarantine that is about dealing with things because of the virus. Their beatboxer is Adam Rupp who does a drum solo but when he stands up he isn't finished. 🎶👱♀️👗👠👠💓
Here is a live version of "Ring of Fire" done on the TV show "Sing Off." ua-cam.com/video/0l3dsHCScxU/v-deo.html Thank you for reacting to Home Free.
THIS!! YES PLEASE!!
@@oneknight55 This is a horrible link. Although it was fun on the show, the video with Avi joining them has the full song and not just one verse.
@@glothdrogen While I liked both performances, I agree that the version with Avi is more full. I also enjoyed the opportunity to compare the 2 bass voices side-by-side.
Absolutely, one of my favorite covers of any song. If you want a showcase for bass singers, this video is it.
4:52 "that is probably obviously a production element"
Oh honey...Tim is just that bass-y😎
Yes, watch a clip of Tim blowing the speakers and you'll be a Home Fry Believer. :)
she means, it was a production choice, to blend the audio to let the bass shine though like it does, i think.
In the American south, we call that starting sound a mouth /jaw harp. I love how they use the pronunciation of vowels and many exaggerated consonants give the song a very deep south feel. Very true to the song.
That bass singer can sing all those high notes as well.
You should check out there version of the "Ring of Fire"
absolutely
Preferably watch the version they did during their time on the Sing-Off, so you can see that they can actually do it live... but the version with Avi is really great, as well.
@@nickwiederhold Sing-off for sure.
And the live one on the Sing Off is a half step lower than the one with Avi!
But the cover with dubbel bass is the best, if you are all in to bass.
You have attracted the attention of home free fans AKA Homefries.
Welcome to the club.

Homefies.... idk what this is but i want to be a frie now....
@@confusedlemur12 Home fries are the biggest fans of Home Free+
The “didjeridu” sounds more like a jaw-harp to me. (I’ve played both, and the jaw harp would be a more appropriate instrument in this context.) Great song choice!
That's what I was thinking. But she's Australian, so she kind of automatically thought digiridoo.
@@thefirststrike didgeridoo, folks. didgeridoo. it's a buggered word for sure, but hey. he wasn't using any of those instruments anyway.
@@StupidUtubecomment no shit it buggered its not English so it doesn't follow the same linguistical logic
@@theirishviking9278 you’re assuming that the English language has logical rules? It’s not even one single language, it tends to follow other languages into dark alleys, mugs them and rifles through their pockets looking for loose vocabulary.
@@davelister2 English is (mostly) a mix of German and Latin, with some French thrown in with the Saxons
English does have a logic to it
Figuring out which of the 3 logics it uses at any given moment is another matter
That BASS, when they all harmonize…it causes such a POWERFUL rich sound, it legit brings tears to my eyes….and I’m a MetalHead. I just can’t help it. Chills & tears. Just overcome, with emotion.
And it’s ALL simply anchored by that AMAZING bass voice Foust has
I love when you can visually see when Tim makes the ladies fall in love with him.
It's not fair. 7:15
Watching vocal coaches thirsting after Tim is my favorite thing
RIGHT?? 😂
Same here. I'm always thinking "wait til you hear Tim!"
Every one of them is irreplaceable.
Love this song because it appears to be timeless.
I believe so, because it's from 1913 and still beloved today.
Peter Hollens featuring Tim Foust “Misty Mountain” thank me later
THIS ^^^^^^^^^^^^
Its amazing
Yes that is amazing, she should also check out ring of fire that they do.
Peter and Tim recently also did Fire and Rain (James Taylor cover) but yeah, Misty Mountains. You'll also enjoy End of the Road and well, pretty much everything else. Welcome to the Wonderful World of Home Free. Oh, Adam Rupp, the beat boxer, is a multiple time world champion beat boxer. Tim (bass guy) has a 5 octave range, Chance (the guy who did the diggerydoo type sound) has a 4 octave range, the 2 others are Rob (guy with the big bushy beard who did the hibberty part, 2nd lead I think is what you called him) and Austin (who is actually normally a high tenor). They have many "live performance" video's that are also on youtube.
To give you a hint of how good they are after performing in Australia, going back to the USA for a show in the mid west then in New York they caught the red eye to perform, on demand, for Diana Ross's 65th birthday (at her request, she's a fan). Their original music (not just covers) are pretty amazing and they won season 4 of the "Sing Off" (same show Pentatonix won in another season). Oh for a Christmas song "Do You Hear What I Hear" will floor you (Adam Rupp did the arrangement on this one). The group originally had Chris Rupp (Adam's brother) instead of Adam Chance (normally just called Chance) but he left for more of a solo and different genre (sort of) effort.
People suggest “ring of fire” don’t get me wrong, they did awesome on their version but being a “Cash” fan it’s very hard for me to like it as much as some of their other songs. Tim also has a
Video of him doing a outdoor concert and him blowing out the speaker with his bass notes.
The "future Julia" edit is an awesome idea, I love it
i know that this was posted 2 years ago but tim fousts voice is amazingly deep being able to hit an E2 (or E1) bass note constistantly
E4?
@@Mechanical_Orion I just realized my mistake, E2.
I don't find it hard to hit.. but these are natural gifts / differences
Girl, you have an absolutely amazing speaking voice! Smooth as silk and VERY pleasant to listen to.
and very good looking, that doesn't hurt either.
The "digerydoo sound" that you are talking about it meant to be a "jews harp" which is more appropriate for the Deep South (in the US) scene. That is being done by the baritone in the group, Chance (Adam Chance) ...the beatboxer is doing the drums and harmonica (Adam Rupp)
I thought it was Tim.
@@RobbieFitzgerald If you were referring to the "Jews harp" or "juice harp" as some folks call it... you can see Chance doing that sound at the end of the video.
@Gabriel Marques Chance CAN do bass, and does at times when Tim is carrying another part of the song, (has filled the bass slot with a different group) however, he mostly covers the baritone slot for Home Free, as Tim is such a deep bass. Most folks refer to Chance as the group's baritone.
@@WolfsbaneHollow my bad. I thought we were talking about the bass hum
@@WolfsbaneHollow it's actually called a Jaw Harp...the other is ethnic slur the way it is said
I've watched a few vocal coaches reacting to this group now. The female coaches all make the "sexy digging it face" when Tim hits the first dramatic bass notes. It is inevitable. Hits them right in the feels. Not gonna lie, I probably make the same face. LOL
as a man, i definitely qhestion some things when i watch and listen to this
@@Camothor10 do tell
This was my first taste of Home Free about 2 years ago. I fell in love with Tim, and it has remained all this time. Although Adam Chance is a close second.
@@karinfichtner7479 I do love time like crazy, but it's Austin that has my heart. Something about that flirty little smirk he has and his sexy expressive hands. Wow!
That sound you're calling a didgeridoo is actually a much smaller instrument called a mouth harp. Commonly used in Bluegrass music.
Watching once again and she must color her hair like this again! So damn beautiful! 🤯🙏☘️
Having seen them live I can promise you that they are this clean live as well as in production. This song is fabulous live as Austin, the main lead does a vocal harmonica duet with Adam (the beatboxer). Austin also has a fantastic yodel that he has shown in a couple of other songs, All About That Bass and Country Boy. Tim, the Bass can go even lower than what you hear in this song. He has a 5+ octave range and is truly an exceptional talent.
Rob, the second lead and Chance the baritone both have exceptional voices and shine on the songs the lead on. Home Free is addicting and never disappoint.
Addicted from the first song three years ago...somehow I missed them on The Sing-Off but am attempting to make up for lost time.
I love how everyone just passes out immediately when Tim starts going off with that bass
a good bass is a thing of beauty.
@@theghostofthomasjenkins9643 You want to hear a good bass check out Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold by Geoff Castallucci and Misty Mountains by Peter Hollens feat. Tim Foust. (Same song.) That last note from both Geoff and Tim takes my breath away every time.
I can go lower maybe I should get into singing 😂
The Bass voice has a hint of the artificial "auto-tune" sound on it? Is there a nasal component?
His voice is deeper than the sea but there's clearly a computerized vocalized application being used on his (their) voices. Here.
Usually not a fan of listening to the vocal coaches.. however, your explanation of different methods, sounds, technique and what you're actually observing in text form is a nice addition. You certainly know your stuff.
This is a fun, " It's 2 am. on saturday night in a town of 100 in Missouri, blasting my shop woofers, half drunk, "kind of feel.
Ladies and gents, here we have the complete package. Julia, not only has talent and knows her stuff, but has intelligent insight and is clearly a great vocal instructor as well.
Oh, yeah. Beautiful too.
Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Home Free.
Home Free is known as a Country acapella band but, they can perform any genre of music. Their original music has mostly a country flavor but they have performances that cross over and blur genres.
"Country Fried Pop Medley" takes several pop songs, mixes them together and adds a Country twist.
"The Butt's Remix" takes a number of songs from different genres (Country, R&B, Rap, Classic Rock) and mixes them together
Tim's is the Bass, try Ring of Fire w/Avi Kaplan or the live versions of Your Man or Honey I'm Good to hear examples of some of his low notes.
Chance, the one doing the Jaw Harp, is the Baritone and can also sing bass. Try Mayday (he has a bass lead), In the Blood (he sings bass line when Tim sings lead) or Go Rest High on that Mountain (helps carry bass line while Tim is singing tenor).
Austin, the first lead in this song, is the High Tenor, songs that feature him are Mayday, Bring Him Home (From Les Miserables) or Wake Me Up.
Rob, the second lead in this song, is the Lead Tenor. The End of the Road, 9 to 5 and Colder Weather are songs that feature him.
Adam is the beat boxer. When he isn't beat boxing, he fills in from baritone up into tenor one. There are several videos that showcase his beat box drum solos.
Up until 2016, Chris was the Baritone in the group. Chris is Adam's brother and he and Adam started the group in 2000. Chris is in Country Fried Medley, the Butts Remix and Ring of Fire.
All of their music involves amazing arrangements and these guys are talented enough to switch roles around. Check out 9 to 5 beat box breakdown.
That yodel you keep hearing is very standard in USA Southern music. It's one of the things that really stand out from other sections of the USA vocal wise and let's you know you're "in the Deep South, Sugar."
Amen!
I love it when he falls into his Southern Twang.
Loved the quote "deep south sugar"! Thats how we do it in Mississippi!! Bless your heart
Dirty South Here!!!
Don't you dare call her sugar!!! That is so sexist. You misogynistic woman hating bastard!!! That was a joke and just a little "snipit" of what i have heard women (who are not from the south) tell southern guys who have called them "Sweetheart" "Darlin" "Honey" "Sweetie" or even (as bad as it may sound to some, it is meant very innocently) the term "Baby" such as "i am fine thank you though baby" It is a southern thing. The overwhelming majority of guys do not mean anything sexual, disrespectful, sexist or hurtful when they say these things. And when you get super upset, loud, irate, animated and borderline psychotic. You then seem like you are one of those women who go ABSOLUTELY BONKERS on a guy because he holds the door open for you. Even though 5 seconds prior he held the door open for a guy. If you need attention that bad, go out make a lot of money and pay someone to gie you the 24/7 amount of attention your seemingly pathetic life/fragile ego craves and desires lol.
The second Tim comes in you FEEL it before you hear it!!
Lady let me simplify this for you....THEY ARE JUST BADASS !
Home Free's "Hillbilly Bone" really showcases Tim's bass.
I love Peter Hollens, an A Capella singer that harmonizes with himself (a few dozen times) in his YT videos.
He collabs a lot with Home Free's bass Tim Foust, including Misty Mountains from Lord Of The Rings.
He also has a collab with Avi Kaplan of Pentatonix on the song Black Is The Color Of My True Love's Hair.
Are you up for more Ayreon?
The Day That The World Breaks Down
(of course Floor's in it, but it's got a few more singers too)
Peter is in production right now to collab with Home Free & the Home Free patreons (I am one) to sing on an upcoming video.....I'm pretty excited.
Misty mountains is INCREDIBLE!
Definitely Misty Mountains!! It's a must!
Home Free and Peter collaborated several times one is 19 You & Me as well as Amazing Grace,.
When I found Peter and Tim’s Greensleeves I played it over and over again.
Watching Julia react to bass is why I keep coming back.
I went to one of their concerts once years ago, and I’m still as addicted as ever.
I'm so happy you noticed how low Tim goes after his verse. Most reactors are so shocked by his bass during his solo they miss that. Great reaction.
"The bass is in the building"!😂
Been watching these guys for years very very good home free
Dang, you're good. I sang opera for decades. You're observation is acute. A pleasure. I do close my eyes to just soak in it when I listen. Good is good. It becomes an emotional experience as well as sensory. Laughing,, my range is as the bass. Well,, it used to be.
the "hello sir" comment made me laugh literally out loud, subbed for sure, well done
Keen to check out more from this group! Not gonna lie, I've been following Pentatonix for a really long time and have no idea how these boys slipped under my radar when a cappella done well is truly awesome. Another a cappella group I spied recently with their very own bass canon is _Narin here on UA-cam. They mostly do Korean covers though.
Hope you enjoyed this one guys! Let me know what else you want down below!
I'm going to pretend it was my suggestion way back when that led you down this road. KUDOS TO ME!
You love the Bass. Check out the Homefree cover of Man of Fire with Avi Kaplan. Seeing Tim and Avi both go full bass blowout is a thing of beauty.
Voiceplay is another fantastic a Cappella group that is worth checking out
you should react to "misty mountains" by tim foust and peter hollens
Home Free won the Sing Off the season after Pentatonix won.
As to the bass (Tim Foust), he has blown out speakers in concert, and to be honest, you haven't heard anything yet. Tim has a 5 octave range. Chance, who does the bass line when Tim is doing something else has a 4 octave range.
It’s scary addictive this track , just one more listen 🤩
You Miss Ma'am have a wonderful breakdown on this Absolutely Amazing Group.
Stay Blessed
Fun Fact: Tim (the bass) actually hit a note so low he broke a speaker at a live performance.
That sound isn't a Didgeridoo it is a Mouth Harp which is used is used old Country Music as well as Bluegrass. Their Accents are all similar cuz they are from the South in the U.S.!
Actually, Rob (beard, coveralls) and Adam (beatboxer) are from Minnesota! So NOT the south! 😁
@@hamig11 I forgot that Adam was a Yankee, but he doesn't sing so the accent wasn't in the song :-). I didn't know that Rob was as well. Good to know!
The group is based out of Minnesota where it started. Adam Rupp and Chris Rupp started this group in Mankato, added Rob Lundquist from the twin cities area, looked and found Tim Foust online, then Austin Brown they met in a cruise ship. Chris left the group in 2016, and they added Adam Chance.
carlabpurdy Yup. And so is Chance, originally...
Yep, Tim actually has a subsonic quality to his voice that's been commented on more than once. "Normal" ears can feel the sound but not hear it. Elephants and the wretched bass speakers on some of my neighbors cars have this too.
I've seen them live, they arent pushing the bass forward in production. It really is this intense
I just love as I watched this 100 times you admit you were wrong at beginning. Real people why you are damn top shelf
Baritone here! Just found your channel and I love your reactions! And the musical breakdown, I’m a musician myself and I absolutely love how you broke everything down. You have a new subscriber
One great thing about home free is there isn't *a* lead singer. They basically take turns singing lead. One will be the main feature for a couple videos then they'll switch. The beatboxer never sings lead, but I'm given to understand he's actually shy about straight up singing. He sings background in a few of their songs but I'm given to understand it took a lot of coaxing to get him to do it. If you want to hear more of the first lead's yodel, he full on yodels in their cover of 'Thank God I'ma Country Boy'
The beatboxer did a fine job of singing in Home Free - How Great Thou Art. ua-cam.com/video/tXQpDDcrN-w/v-deo.html
@@forbinproject7174 Yes! He does a solo beginning the start of It is well and does a great job. He also has a solo in Quarantine. Check out the Patreon party the last time Chris sings with the group. They did a barbershop quartet song that Adam sings a solo.
@@forbinproject7174 Yes he did.
Austin is definitely the lead singer
Also in "All About That Bass". Never knew that song needed yodelin' until then...
Actually, you MUST see/hear them live. My wife is a vocal teacher and the first time she heard them live she said "they can't do that!" They have the most outstanding ability to blend with each other even when their instruments are strained from the rigors of touring. Oh, and they own the stage and are great people as well!
I call this a “family” arrangement because all the guys add their own special talents into this song to make it a more complete listening experience. Austin is awesome rolling his “r’s” and that little yodel kicked in for good measure. Rob accompanies him on those great high notes. Adam, a very good, experienced vocal impressionist, which I personally think is a few steps higher than a beat boxer, continues to amaze and thrill me. Tom, with that deep, dark, growly G3 (I may be off here), always blows my mind and turns my knees to jelly...always🤦♀️. Great overall idea for this 1913 song; costumes are right on - maybe a jug or two or a Blue Tick hound, but I’m from TN🧡
Another woman head over heels for freedom
I heard them live. They sound just as good on stage.
Tim isn't being over produced . He is straight one of the best basses out there. I seen Home Free live in Barbour County WV and He flat has it. Tim rocked that place.
Bear in mind that this is a Southern song being sung by Southern men, and Southern accents tend to be a bit more nasal than any other American accents. Most Southern American accents tend to be slower versions of the original British colonist's accents, which means that the origins of the colonists plays somewhat of a role in how things are pronounced. Note too, their accents and style of dress mark them as mid-century Appalachian, which carries a very heavy Scots-Irish influence. There are still some people in parts of the Appalachian regions who still us Gaelic words in their dialect which would impart a bit of something in their accents. Yodeling is something you occasionally find in both Blue Grass and Country music. As this song is technically Blue Grass, it isn't unusual.
They all connect with the camera, watch their eyes and expressions
The two tenors: the first is from Georgia in the southern US. He's leaning hard on the natural southern accent. The second is from the upper Midwest of the US. There is a very different basic accent underlying to his country man voice.
The bass is from South Texas, another distinct accent he is leaning into.
Excellent point. Absolutely correct. And the harmony of those to someone from the FL-GA line (me) is incredible. I agree wholeheartedly.
Just remember that telling that to an Australian, your sentence just sounded like an Englishman trying to tell you there is a difference between the accents of someone from London, Wolverhampton, and Nottingham. :D
Southeast Texas to be exact. Closer to the Louisiana state line. About 45 minutes to be exact.
He's from the next town over. Lol
@@kristenschexnaider2108 But few folks now Nederland. 😁
I think that no matter where they are from originally, they are leaning into a more nasal Appalachian sound as is appropriate for this bluegrass song.
7:15 so basically, to make Julia fall in love with someone, they just need to have a good basso profundo singing voice and be able to break subwoofers with their bass notes (like Tim is known for doing)?
I love the looks she gets on her face & her “hello sir”. Very cute.
You mentioned that Austin, Rob, and Tim all had really similar accents, which tells you how AWESOME they are since Austin is from DEEEEEEPPPP South GA, Tim is from Coastal TX, and Rob..... our man Rob is from Minnesota!!! They can do such awesome things with their voices!
And shout out to Chance on fake mouth harp and Adam on all the crazy sounds! :)
A little reminiscent of the theme song for the show Justified, with Timothy Olyphant. Love it!
I love how all female vocals coaches have a little 'moment' when they hear a nice deep bass vocal... just saying lol
The guys do too. Interestingly, many comment they feel threatened/affronted by Tim's stare. And I bet Tim's the nicest guy.
@@coolcat8b Well, considering Tim himself commented on this video thanking her for "spreading the love", you may not be far off. ^_^
@@Soufriere84 oh he could have spread plenty of love, and as a straight male I don't blame her.
Yep same thing when they hear corpse. Lol
High notes evoke emotions, but low notes evoke primal instinct. So, being able to carry very low notes = increased attractiveness.
OK, so you will be getting a lot of requests for a cover they did of 'Mayday' by CAM. While that is hands down one of my favorite songs they've done, you should not react to it just yet. You see they pull a surprise in that video that you won't catch unless you know who does what in the group. I suggest you watch at least a couple more of their videos before doing 'Mayday'. I recomend 'Die A Happy Man' and maybe 'In The Blood'
Those two songs you suggested solidify Chance as the bass, however, as well as Mayday. I would lean more towards songs like Think A Little Less, Down to the Honkytonk, or The Gambler.
oh yes, In the Blood & Die a happy man and of course Mayday are amazing
@Alexandria Hauser agree
Definitely “In the Blood”. I’d also recommend “Yours” as well “Story of my Life”. A great fun one is “Honey, I’m Good”. Then “Mayday”!
I listened to Mayday on youtube with my headphones for about a year... I always thoughy Austin started that song.... Haha how wrong was I!?
Julia, please consider a Reaction to Home Free’s “Sea Shanty Medley”.
You are so right on in your analysis!
Growing up in West Africa as it once was called, a world traveler by any name, and a person who enjoys music of many different genres - I also thought the opening sound was a didgeridoo which is a sound I love. My first “Jew or Jews Harps” were made in Republique du Niger, and in Nigeria. The Ozark experts commenting before me make sense, and no worries. I learn much more from you in how you break down the performances than many others - thank you!
Tim Foust knocked on the door said hold my beer its time to swoon the ladies🤣
One way they get that "extra bass" sound is Adam Chance, who joined the group after Chris Rupp departed. He's technically a baritone, but is capable of very, very low notes. So he can take over the bassline when Tim is singing, but also adds another layer of bass/baritone other times. Oh, and he's also the one making the mouth harp sounds. :)
There are three acapella groups I follow: Pentatonix, Home Free & Voiceplay. All you need is a Voiceplay reaction and you've covered all of them. Moana medley is a good place to start, or the Oogie Boogie song if you want to see the Bass take lead. (and drop a surprising last note!)
Home Free became much better known after wining season 4 of the sing-off. (PTX won season 3) You're sure to get a lot of recommendations to react to Home Free's cover of 'Ring of Fire'. This was a big hit in the sing off and you can find video's of that performance as well as a video they made with Avi Kaplan of PTX. You'll probably have many recommendations for both so here's a suggestion, do both back to back! The song is short and this way you can compare live vs. studio.
There are many great Home Free songs to choose from but I'd like to suggest 'Butts Remix'. This is a much more lighthearted tune, but it's a really clever arrangement that spans multiple genres: country, pop, rock, rap... Their acapella rendition of some tech heavy dance club music is impressive. Also, their antics are sure to make you laugh.
Wonder what you opinion on Van Canto is and their acapella take on metal.
Voiceplay's Oogie Boogie's song for sure. That last note.
When it comes to voiceplay's bass taking the lead, he also covered "Bare necessities" on his channel.
I don’t know Voice Play’s Queen Medley was pretty hot.
@@enigma1326 Yes, that's another great one. A few other Voiceplay picks: 'I knew you where trouble' or 'Talk dirty'. And one that's a few years old but an incredible arrangement that combines about 2 dozen songs, 'A crimpella'.
1. You should see them do this live...in later performances Austin(lead tenor) joins in for dueling harmonicas and this was one of the first songs they used a looper for(chance for the mouth harp thingy and rupp for some of the basic drum beat so he can come in with the harmonica)
2. Adam rupp's drum solo is awesome to watch. He definitely does a didgeridoo in part of that.
Julia, you are so darn peppy, love it... great analogy.
"O Brother Where Art Thou" is a must watch movie if you haven't seen it! This is such a good song. I love the music in it.
One of my all time classic movies. Impactful yet not suffocating as an experience, and the music makes it an easy rewatch.
Such a great movie! Made me hate cows more than coppers!
I kept hearing the songs from the movie on the radio so I figured I'd watch it, if for no other reason atleast I knew the music would be good.turned out the movie was great
The Soggy Bottom Boys!
Tenor with hat is from the south, bearded tenor from Minnesota, Basso Profundo is Tim Fouts from East Texas
If you like Austin's yodeling, try their version of 'All About That Bass'.
Does Austin also yodelling in "Thank God I'm a country boy (or something like that)
Yes please 😊
She should also check their live performances. Ones where Tim literally harrasses the speakers.
I was thinking the same thing!
I dont really love country music except for HF but I have a secret love for the stupid yodel Austin does in dome videos 😂
so far, this is the only video ive found where the reviewer talks about the bass' depth right after his solo lol finally someone else hear it
Fun fact the guy with the Beard Rob has a lisp if I am not mistaken so to get such rounded sounds whilst singing and a lisp is super impressive!
The beat boxer creates all miscellaneous sounds for the band
The last guy is actually doing a "mouth harp" known around the local they are singing from..
finally a vocal coach that technically explain the songs/voices/arrangements, instead of using just good and bad evaluation.
What You get from these 5 are all them . No tricks . All sounds are their Own
More Home Free reactions, please!!! (Mayday, Ring of Fire, Auld Lang Sign, My Church, How Great Thou Art, End Of The Road, etc) This was by far my favorite Vocal Coach reaction to Home Free yet!! Subscribed
if you wanna hear more of those low notes from the bass here watch misty mountains with peter hollens and tim foust (the bass).
Thank you Igor complimenting our Appalachian Kentuckian accent. It’s much appreciated.
Adam Rupp is the beat box, and he makes ALL of the sounds. The bass is Tim. React to "When a Man Loves a Woman". You will see how tight their harmonies are, and you will see a totally different side of Austin (the main soloist. He is actually their high tenor.
Tim has a voice that could hit the core of this planet. I’ve never heard a voice with that much bass till I heard this fine group. These men embody talent to an extreme.
He's only a bass-baritone unlike some (including myself) who can get at least half a scale lower 😎. 👽
There are some much better then him ^^
Welcome to Home Free! This is a great one to start with for these fellows. There a lots of live videos out there, including this song. My favorites to suggest for new people to this group, besides this song, are Catch Me if You Can (original), Can't Stop the Feeling, Do You Hear What I Hear, The Butts remix and Country Fried Pop Medley. Of course there are many more, but It's hard to pick just a few. Thanks! ^_^
My vote is for the Butts Remix next. Not only is it a fun video, the way the arrangement spans multiple genres is quite impressive.
Home Free's cover of Ring of Fire is amazing!
The human drum machine is a monster. the sounds that can come out of that mans mouth is crazy.
I have seen Home Free Twice and let me tell you, you can feel the impact of Tim Foust's bass. It is insane. If you ever have the chance go see Home Free Live, you will not be disappointed.
I would try listening to their version of “Mayday” I believe its called. Tims range is quite astounding
your honest expressions are easy to spot
This song is an old bluegrass song. They stayed with the roots and added some modern flavor.
For this song they did loop some of the effects. They do quite well in performance. I saw them in Seattle last year. If you like Tim's bass I recommend "Mayday".... hehe
Which showcases Tim’s range, especially at the beginning of the song!
You need some Voiceplay! Geoff's (bass) range is in-sa-ne ♥
I have heard this sound many times but have never heard these guys sing it. Actually this is the first time I ever heard or seen these guys. They did a very nice job with it.
i absolutely LOVE how in depth you go into breaking down vocal strings bit by bit! thank you!
Finally a reactor notices how Tim goes even lower on the echo of "While he is sleeping in his grave." That was so nice. Kudos on catching that ^_^ Great reaction. It makes me smile seeing people have so much fun when they hear this for the first time. :) I LOVE your bit in the title about "ready the bass canonnnn!!" xD Yes! Someone's probably told you by now, but Rob (the Beard) does the "dub pa dub pa doo" and they do use a looper just for that little bit so he can also sing his other parts in the song. They also loop the sound effect Chance does because it would hurt his throat too much to do it through the whole song.
Im think that low part is both Tim and Chance together.
Her reaction to tim was about what I expected
Thank you so much for this vid. finally a vocal coach video with actual skill from the coach
This is the greatest breakdown holy shit
