Home Free. Almost every song has the same problem - "I really wanted a little more..." Great to see the details picked up and explained so fully, thank-you. Please react to more, there's plenty to explore.
Adam Rup, the sound guy, he's an alien. He does the most amazing sounds, including a harmonica. More than simple beatboxing. Adam Chance does some bass, but the star of the deep is Tim Foust. He can do right at the edge of subsonic. It rattles your innards. My favorite from this group is "In The Blood." Beautifully smooth. They have a number of humorous pieces and have a lot of fun with their careers. You might like "Champaign Taste On A Beer Budget". And their "Auld Lang Syne" is beyond stunning. I'm glad to see you had so much fun with this reaction. Thank you.
@@archgirl i will agree he is no sbx finalist but, because of the arrangement "going ham" would distract from the vocals. His fills and specialty noises are what infer, to me, that he is capable of so much more. I wonder how much of the clarity in his harmonica is vocal vs post production....
The bass singer ( Tim Foust ) actually has a 5 octave range. If you think he got really low in the group part after his solo here you should hear him at the end of their cover of Ring of Fire when they competed on The Sing Off. You not only hear the note, but you FEEL it.
It’s two tenors (Austin and Rob), a baritone (Adam Chance), a bass (Tim) and a World Championship beatboxer (Adam Rupp).. all musical beasts in their own rights, but even better as an ensemble..

Hi Elizabeth. Is there anything you can tell us about what the psychology of harmonies is and how it hits us "in the feels?" They can evoke an emotional reaction and I just want to understand it. Thank you!
I love watching her facial expressions and eyes!!! It's obvious she is passionate about all genres of music. I really loved her analysis of the Scorpions Still Loving You!!!
To be honest, i kinda "hate" that song. Peter is just ruins it for me, his voice is way tooo high/light for me to that song. But Tim.. Ohh, i wish i could hear a version where Tim singing it all along.
When the "Home Free" fans find out you are reviewing their songs, you will see a big boost in your views. As a long time "Homefry" (Home Free fan) may I suggest that you find their performances in the "Sing Off" competition to learn their history, who the singers are and SOME of their capabilities. It would even be good to review/react to these performances. They are taped live.
I started listening to this song randomly and I was like “wait, maybe SHE has reacted to this song” and by god you have 😂❤ yessss! Let’s finish this banger 🥰🤘🏼
I return to this video as a favorite tune from a Midwestern band from Minnesota. I appreciate that Elizabeth's critiques encompass so many American musical cultures.
If you want to see Tim (the Bass) and Avi singing together check out their cover of "Ring of Fire'. I'd also recommend their "Butts Remix'. This is a fun mashup that spans multiple genres, (country, pop, rock...)
Can't wait to see this. I was one of the many recommending reacting to Home Free. They have so many brilliant tracks, many of them with surprises in singing different voices than their usual "roles". I went to one of their concerts (or parties, as they call them), here in Denmark, and got to shake their hands before they had to break off their European Tour, because of Covid-19. They are brilliant ... and even more impressive that they perform equally well live, where they add lots of fun and entertainment. Big thanks from Denmark, for reacting to this, Elizabeth :)
What I love about Tim is his amazing range, 5 octaves! Incredible. Video out there of him singing I can't help falling in love with you solo, sooo good!
I will be honest I am not a huge Home Free fan (my wife is), but your analysis makes me reconsider! You drew out so much I didn't notice, and made me appreciate the song so much more. Also your enthusiasm is definitely catching!
Dan Kaminiski with Alison Krauss' band does a great version of this as well. She has the voice of an angel - clear as a bell, and smooth as silk. Just wonderful, this selection.
I only recently discovered these reactions videos and they're great. But I'm surprised that no one yet has pointed out the chorus of BULLFROGS that sound constantly throughout this super awesome video. With the popping noise he imitates another frog and various other animals exclusive to the swamps. If one has never been in the swamps they would not catch it. But this group has mastered these sounds and so perfectly use them.
At least she loves the music and explains the different ways that they change harmonies. Most vocal coaches, or professional singers who react tell us what the band did wong and sing along to the entire song🙄 She's entertaining. 😊
These guys are the best! You like the bass, you should listen to down to the honkytonk, ring of Fire, everybody walkin this land, how great thou art, go rest high on that mountain and elvira. Their bass guy Tim Foust has been known to blow speakers during concerts and shake cameras with his amazingly low voice
You nailed this analysis not many people can even understand what the first sounds are but you nailed the throat singing part Adam Rupp the beatboxer confirmed that.
Agree that"Ring of Fire" is a go-to, but to really hear what they can do, is doesn't get any better than "Helplessly Hoping." Do yourself a favor and react to it!!!!!!

My thought is, it started at a time and place where instruments were scarce and the need for music was strong. It certainly worked for Bluegrass but I'm guessing it is older
I remember when these guys won that show "Sing Off" and I have loved them ever since. Their version of "O Holy Night" literally brings me to tears every time. Their bass singer, Tim, is a real hidden gem in this group 💜💜💜
Now that you've discovered "Home Free" (fans are called Home Fries), you should really check out Ring of Fire (featuring Avi) and as a change of pace do End of the Road. Hi Elizabeth. Is there anything you can tell us about what the psychology of harmonies is and how it hits us "in the feels?" They can evoke an emotional reaction and I just want to understand it. Thank you!
This reaction is rly honest. i feel every laugh and the enjoyment for music she has. pair that with the smile and it makes me smile instandly.
I love watching her facial expressions and eyes!!! It's obvious she is passionate about all genres of music.
I really loved her analysis of the Scorpions Still Loving You!!!
I discovered Home Free Recently watching a reaction. They have so many great songs, but this is there best!
She should also react to misty mountains with peter Hollens featuring Tim. That would be amazing!!
I came to the comments to suggest this
@@emilyleasure8683 Same
Yup. So many good songs they’ve covered with absolute aplomb
I wanted to say this too! Hope she does!
If someone like you can analyze this song, and you are begging for more, that is a wonderful compliment to the group as a whole. They did wonderful.
his ability to make it sound like a harmonica is cool
“Their rhythm section, who is a person and not a rhythm section”
But also a rhythm section...
I will be honest I am not a huge Home Free fan (my wife is), but your analysis makes me reconsider! You drew out so much I didn't notice, and made me appreciate the song so much more. Also your enthusiasm is definitely catching!
Yes, Ma'am! HOME FREE can hit any note an go anywhere with their range. I love 'em. A great representation of Appalachia.
I love your reaction when Tim hit the lower notes after his solo section. Yes, he does have such a low voice!
You are absolutely STUNNING ❤️
"he's just hanging around below the music staff for fun"
"He has SUCH a low voice!" Now go listen to their cover of Mayday and have your mind blown.
I think people need to listen to a few songs first then Mayday is really mind blowing
@@Amanda-uc5jq Agree completely! Mayday is going to be SO much more impressive once she learns their names and is familiar with the voices.
Is that where Adam does a drum solo? It's freaking wild
@@alicerobertson15 No. But I won't explain more because . . . spoilers.
Agreed. But in MAYDAY, Chance is the Bass. Tim shows his High Notes in that video.
I’ll bet nobody can ever get a word in with this chick
At least she loves the music and explains the different ways that they change harmonies.
Most vocal coaches, or professional singers who react tell us what the band did wong and sing along to the entire song🙄 She's entertaining. 😊
Tim's basso profundo is one of my favorites - you can hear just how comfortable he is on those super low notes. Great reaction!!
Everyone is all about high notes but I am all about the bass. Tim Foust is just....
I'm all about that bass ;D I love Tim and Adam the most :D
Love that bass
Well she should listen to mayday to see Tim's high notes
Yes, I'm totally all about the bass.
Feel the bass in my whole body and when tim song om get goosebumps from feet and up. ❤🤩

He has also been inducted into the gulf coast museum hall of fame. Him meaning Tim
I love your smile when he puts his hat back on 💙
It's like hearing a perfect balance within the sound spectrum. That dude singing bass... Holy cow!!
Reign of fire is an excellent combination with Avi.
For perfect harmonies Helplessly Hoping is their best other than How Great Thou Art
Or some "End of the Road"!!
Can't outrun you. Take me home country roads!
Helplessly hoping or Seven Bridges Road they all harmonize so well in minus Chance not being in the group yet when they did Seven Bridges Road.
Home Free wishes you'll come back to us.
Reactor: "He is so low there!!:
Tim: "Hold my beer and check out Ring of Fire!!"
Then Misty Morning....and once your mind is blown just go listen to Mayday haha ONLY TIM!
I believe his lowest notes are in sold
@@silversagerae6353 misty mountains has the same low note as ring of fire (i think)
Also Tim: "Hold my shot and listen to 'Honey, I'm Good'"
.....and maybe” your man” .?
I seriously love how excited you get. Im glad I found you as a reactor.
The guy being called the "beatboxer" is doing what I know as "eefing". It's a century old musical technique, from a time and place where there was a lot of music but few instruments, so people made due
Neat. Never heard of that. I'll have to look up how to do that.
Just an FYI, the phrase is "make do."
@@whiterabbit75 Good to know. And to think, I've been making do, with "making due" all these years. Thanks
@@datcolsol You're welcome. XD
Eefin' and ahhin' is a legit Bluegrass technique for sure.
@@ringding1000 Bluegrass or "Old Time"? I suspect it predates Bill Monroe. That's one of the fun things about traditional/folk music.
All I can do is watch her eyes when she's listening to the song.
Now that you've discovered "Home Free" (fans are called Home Fries), you should really check out Ring of Fire (featuring Avi) and as a change of pace do End of the Road. Also, just for pure ear candy, have listen to Do You Hear What I Hear (earphones are a must for this one). Great reaction, thanks!!!!
Yes! I just said the same thing about Do You Hear What I Hear. Sweet mother of pearl, I could listen to that song every day.
Thank you for introducing me to Home Free. I always enjoy your reactions and analysis of all the groups you do. My music listening life has changed because of Home Free! Thanks
I have seen so many reaction videos on this song and Home Free, but this one is the best. I like it so much I am watching it for the second time.
Home Free, Voice Play, Voctive, Pentatonix and Straight No Chaser...all great acapella groups
Voice Play also has a phenomenal basso Goeff Castalucci.
100%...Straight No Chaser needs to get more love on UA-cam !
@@miamidolphinsfan One Christmas season, she should look at their (hilarious) "12 Days of Christmas!"
I have seen these guys a few times in various reaction videos over the past few days and I actually got goosebumps again, hearing them and seeing your face as they started. Your facial expressions are just perfect 👌🏼
Well you have a small catalogue of home free ones to see they're incredible...
As close as you have come Elizabeth to Tim and Home Free. It was fun to go back 4 years and see the first time again 😊😊
For some truly amazing harmonies, check Home Free's How Great Thou Art
IF you REALLY want to hear how good this group is together, I second this one! It's probably the perfect version of How Great Thou Art...and that video!
Watching her reaction is as satisfying when I have a cup of Costa Rican coffee in the early morning summer mist.
I love watching your reaction videos. Your not only spot on with your vocal analogies. You have the cutest expressions and a Great smile. You believe you will become a HomeFree HomeFry before you know it! 😝✌️
Geez, I just love your unique combination of delight, awe, and amazing insights!
