You would be surprised at their live versions of their songs. People say, there is no way they can do this live...then they do. These guys are phenomenal!!
@@blitzofchaosgaming6737 No it's definitely her 3rd lol. I think her discord and the comments on her first home free kind of drilled there names into her head.
@@rocky11top So I guess you think she has never heard any song by any artist other than the ones she's reacted to? Let me let you in on something. Reactors listen to music on their own time.
@@blitzofchaosgaming6737 no I completely understand that, but from what I remember she had never heard of them before she reacted to them the first time.
They take a lot of pride in the fact that everything they do is with their voices...pure a Capella. Having seen them live I can attest that they can do absolutely amazing things with just their voices.
I wish people would stop claiming this. As much as I like Home Free, this one is not acapella. All you have to do is listen on a good system to realize there is a bass guitar.
You’d be surprised at what they can pull off live with just the 5 of them! One that blows my mind every time is Man of Constant Sorrow live. Chance starts off doing the jaw harp live and then they use a looper so he can sing his parts. There’s so much going on but they pull it off and it sounds incredible! Also, I don’t think there is music backing any of this song. It is obviously a studio version but I’m pretty certain it’s still all vocals.
@@twaited5860 I've been to six of their live shows and the looper is used on Castle on the Hill and maybe one other to show you how they can layer with it. Sounds like you had the chance to see them do that too. It was awesome. But they use their voices so well to fill in backgrounds. They are truly one of the great live performances because they are super fun and funny as well. It's worth every penny and more. We leave happy and in awe and smiling and laughing! Cannot wait until they're out on the road again!
Loved your reaction. Since you mentioned Tim I can't help suggesting that you react to "Misty Mountains" with Tim and Peter Hollens. It just fits so well with Tims voice and Peter is nailing it as well.
Thank you for recognizing Rob so much. There are a lot of great singers. But in this video, Rob sang with pure passion. Reaching into the deepest parts of his soul and heart giving everything he had. He wasn't singing the song, He became the song.
Rob's voice was perfect for this song! Everyone has a stunning voice on their own! I love them!!! Keep them coming! Next, please do How Great Thou Art!!!
Their collaboration with Peter Hollens and 300+ patreons for "I still haven't found what I'm looking for" is not only great listening, but also a video editing masterpiece.
I was worried that I wouldn't find what I was looking for...but here it is. Add me to the chorus of people asking for this Peter Hollens/Home Free/patreons collab.
I grew up near Philadelphia when Boyz II Men was hitting the big time in the early 90's, and I have been following Home Free since they won The Sing Off here in the states. Many people think of Home Free as a country group, but that's not what they were before being encouraged to audition for The Sing Off as a country group after a previous attempt to make the show as a more contemporary group failed. So seeing something like this doesn't surprise me because they are so much more than country. Even though Boyz II Men sang some acapella songs, this wasn't one of them, and I think it was actually smart for Home Free to do a song that wasn't originally an acapella song. Rob definitely showed a soulful side to this, and as a group, they absolutely nailed this!
Julia, you should react to Home Free's "How Great Thou Art." The scenery for the video is awesome, and the arrangement and singing is at least the equal of "End of the Road" and arguably better.
Can't join the premiere because we're in the midst of closing accounts for the year-end but congrats on the Silver Creator Award! You’ve earned every bit of the success you deserved. This is only the beginning of even more great things to come for you :)
I remember reading an article about Rob where they interviewed his college vocal teacher. She said, that Rob was equally good at opera, jazz, and Broadway singing and that was so unusual to have that kind of versatility.
Don't let everyone know about Chance in Mayday, let them find out naturally by listening and watching the song! You spoil the SURPRISE! I do agree Mayday should be Next though!😊
How did I miss this reaction?!? Julia, this is the best reaction I've seen to this performance! I still get goosebumps from Rob in this. I loved how excited you got with his runs and growls!
At the beginning of the reaction, when you said you hoped they'd add some rasps & growls to it, I couldn't help but think, "Oh boy, are you going to like the last part!" LOL! Rob's pretty amazing in this.
I'm do glad you decided to react to this, Rob really shines, he's amazing! I love to watch people that react as strongly as I did when I first heard them do this, looking forward to more! Stay safe and healthy and I hope you have a wonderful holiday season!
Your breakdowns are just great, you hit on everything and explain it to the rest of us dummies, killer reaction. It's about time Rob gets some fangirling because he is unbelievably good. That made me happy.
I can’t stop watching these guys. Seriously ever song is just crazy good and so different as well. It’s fun to see your reaction to them! Gotta turn an ear to more Home Free.
Agreed. But what would be amazing if Julia reacted to is their rendition of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas featuring Jewel in Sing Off finals... Pure A Capella, jazz vibes... The song is amazing and come on - it's Christmas time now!
I ABSOLUTELY LOOVVVE YOUR REACTIONS TO THIS SONG BUT ESPECIALLY TO ROB. I WAS BLOWN AWAY MYSELF BY ROB'S PERFORMANCE AND VOICE VERSATILITY....THANK YOU FOR YOUR REACTIONS.....LOL
I really really enjoy your reaction videos. Not JUST because you are beautiful!! 😏 but because you show so much joy when you are listening to a song you like and your comments are awesome to listen to (must be that Aussie accent). Keep up the great work. It looks like you may have won some type of reward? If that is true, then congratulations you do great work and you deserve the recognition.
You covered so much and it was great!!! Loved the analysis! They did a spectacular job on this song. I was hoping you'd mention the incredible 'harmony run' by all of them right after Tim's solo at 9:09 but there's so much going on it's easily missed. I think it's awesome! Rob, Austin, and Tim all have insane run capabilities. Thx so much for doing this one. Enjoyed it!!
Yet another example of the talent of this group. From end to end they are so solid and talented to pull off a wide range of musical styles is truly amazing. Glad your viewpoint is recognizing their talent and true musical abilities which often are overlooked.
this is one of my favorites from them! would love to see more home free! Mayday shows tim at a much higher range if you want to see the other side of Tim haha
I'm seriously impressed with Rob. He got his turn to shine and took it farther than I could have guessed it would go. He can apparently do almost anything. Btw, Julia, I LOVE how much you love music and great singing. You are feeling it deeply. It's a beautiful thing!
I'm excited for this! Growing up, I was a huge Boys II Men fan! Definitely influenced my music tastes as a boy. I've listened to this performance and I'm looking forward to hearing your reaction! :)
Interesting that you mention Rob's accent, because he's from Minnesota, no where near the south. In fact, as far north as you can go and stay in the country.
Because they are both short, they are both all about harmonies, and they both have Adam singing instead of beat boxing, I think Julia should do "Helplessly Hoping" and "Auld Lang Syne" as a double reaction in that order.
Just wanted to add another comment to this one. This is perhaps my favorite reaction of all of the many I've seen -- I come back to it every few days and enjoy it all over again! Thanks again Julia.
JULIA !! So glad you've now become a "Home Fry", what we Home Free fans call ourselves. This is one that shows just how capable they are. In concert on several songs they do use a "looper", which it is their voices but it can help on that layering on some songs. Listen to their cover of Castle on the Hill, listen to the studio version but also listen to the live recording
I have just found you tonight and have really enjoyed your reactions to Homefree. I have gotten to see them live twice. I have watched a huge amount of their videos and am a true fan. Your reactions are natural and unforced. You show surprise and delight. You are honest and fun to watch. Take care there down under. Home Free is my favorite group.
Good evening Julia: Wow!! Outstanding reaction vid! I don't even know where to begin! first off, i learn a tremendous amount of very informative knowledge from u with every reaction vid that u produce!!!! As per usual. u are able to glean things from each performance that u react to that i...usually totally miss or am unaware of! U are a true wellspring of knowledge of all things that have to do with singing and music and the like!! Second,....i absolutely love your voice! ,for lack of a better description,...it sounds so lovely!! you have such wonderful speaking ability! your diction is what i would call "elite" lol!! as a matter of fact.....it adds a sort of sophisticated sexyness to u, if u don't mind me saying so (since i'm old enough to be your fathers older brother lol)!! To make things even better........you seem to be a very sweet charming full hearted and kind lady besides!! thank you so much Julia! Keep these outstanding reaction vids coming and....Take care and God Bless!!
Rob killed it in this video. IMO, they (all of Home Free) had to make EVERY part of this song as best as they could, because doing a Boyz II Men song and not making it great, would be a disrespect to them. (Boyz II Men) And as they ALWAYS do, Home Free gave the Cover the Respect that it DESERVED. (IMO that is) Great Reaction. After a few more Home Free songs, you'll be ready for the SHOCK of MAYDAY, I believe. Thank you, Julia. Great job.
Hi Julia! Great reaction! If you'd like to hear some of their originals I might suggest "Champagne Taste On A Beer Budget", "Snow Globe", or "Warmest Winter" since it's nearly Christmas. A couple of covers I'd recommend are "Leave This Town", and "All About That Bass". Every member has a song or two with the lead, except Adam Rupp unless you count his beatboxing and he has a couple of short lines in "How Great Thou Art" and I seem to remember one or more in "Helplessly Hoping" since it is all harmony with no beatboxing. They have songs with Tim in the lead with either his bass voice or one or more of his other 5+ octave voices, you just saw Rob's lead in this song and he takes most of the lead in "Blue Ain't Your Color". Austin takes lead in many songs as in the aforementioned "Warmest Winter", Chance leads in some other songs, but in most of the songs, everyone gets at least a line or two, depending on the structure of the song. They have over 100 songs on UA-cam and they have never failed to deliver and amaze in all that I have seen so far. I wonder how many women have gotten pregnant from one or another of their voices in various songs (not literally, just the mood that they are in after listening to the music)! LOL
You may have forgotten about Adam Chance's additional input. He's got incredible range and supports the others incredibly well! You might be ready to do "Mayday" now! Lot's of other surprises in that song for you!😊😁
You're absolutely correct! He does the 'bass line' throughout this (sounding EXACTLY like a bass guitar), and almost none of the reactors have pointed it out!!
Be sure to check out Home Free and Alabama's collaboration on "Christmas In Dixie". The harmonizing, fills and runs are amazing! Your heart will melt 😎.
My favorite of your Home Free reactions. You are genuinely into Robs voice on this one. Me as well. I've heard everyone of their songs. You have quite a catalog to explore with these guys. You will never be disappointed with any of their songs. Happy Holidays Julia.
I love “Snow Globe”! My favorite love song! Some of my favorite Home Free originals are “Dive Bar Saints” “Snow Globe” “Cold Hard Cash” and “Full of Cheer”
Just a little regional pride here...Austin is from Tifton Georgia. Which is 30 miles from my home town. Always nice to see someone from the same region make it.

If your looking for more Rob, may I suggest their cover of Australia's own Keith Urban - Blue Ain't Your Color followed by Helplessly Hoping and then maybe their cover of Cam's Mayday. Another great reaction/analysis by the way.
You would be surprised at their live versions of their songs. People say, there is no way they can do this live...then they do. These guys are phenomenal!!
If you want vocals, Helplessly Hoping from home free is out of this world. Do you hear what I hear is over the top as well.

Helplessly Hoping is sonic ear candy, too right. Also two for vocals and creativity, Ring of Fire, and Folsom Prison Blues. These guys are tremendous.

LOL
Awesome cover. Rob was awesome and great to have him lead. All the others awesome as usual. One of my highschool favorite songs they aced it
You may have forgotten about Adam Chance's additional input.
Julia! You are really rockin' the reactions lately! Right on!!!
And the "Country Roads" cover by Home Free highlights various genres in a typically country song - take a listen!
Another great reaction!
Snow globe next please. Tim’s high notes are freaky in snow globe.
No backing instruments it's Chance
Canadian fan here...enjoy your channel very much. One Home Free song that blew my mind and brought tears is "When a Man Loves a Woman" Cheers!
A lot of people miss it because of Tim’s presence, but the collective run that they did in the background at the end of Tim’s solo was incredible.
And I thought I was the only one who noticed how cool that was.👍🎶
Really enjoy your reactions and learn a lot, you are one of the best i have ever listened to explaining some aspects the average person would not know to look or listen for. Thank you for your extended time with your review and explaining in such detail that helps us gain a greater appreciation of the artists abilities.
Rob is great in their Ed Sheeran - Castle on the Hill cover. His voice is perfect for that song
Oh my.....I do wish I enjoyed my job as much as this lady enjoys her..... :-) not much chance of that I am a truck driver but I do enjoy my music at work !! Keep it up the great work Julia !!
If your looking for more Rob, may I suggest their cover of Australia's own Keith Urban - Blue Ain't Your Color followed by Helplessly Hoping and then maybe their cover of Cam's Mayday. Another great reaction/analysis by the way.
Haven't seen Rob fronting this group much until now and HE KILLS IT!!
And so Do YOU dear lady.
React to Home Free cover of Folsom Prison Blues.
Yea definitely
Love your reactions. I have no musical training, so learning why I like a particular song so much is really enjoyable. Thank you.
