Hey all! Thanks for the wonderful comments and support on this project. I had the recent pleasure of working on BR's Official Gameplay Trailer -- Check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/7QznMysTmtE/v-deo.html

This mod has a lot of booba and it kind of fits because they are mostly taking from the conan the barbarian style of look. This looks more like a brand new game more so than just DLC.
Am really loveing this mod, cant wait to see how it evolves. one of my main hopes is to see S-purples class mods gat a patch because i feel they all would fit right in
Black Reliquary now, is basically what Darkest Dungeon 2 would have been, if it were decided to be one of those kinds of sequels where it’s basically the first game, but new, and maybe bigger and improved. However DD2 was made into a vastly different game, one that still *feels* like the original in all the right ways. But is very much treading brand new ground. So basically: For the people who want the original Darkest Dungeon, but cooler, and harder, (and with hotter people which we can all appreciate). We have Black Reliquary. Now for people who want something that still feels like Darkest Dungeon, but takes it in a different direction, we have Darkest Dungeon 2. Conclusion: It is a VERY good time to be a Darkest Dungeon fan.
This is absolutely breathtaking literally bought the game just because of this mod, and I’m hoping to see whatever these guys have in store for us. Let’s hope they get as much support and reward as they can for their efforts!
This looks to be amazing; not just in the gameplay changes but in the setting, too. A flying ship as the hamlet? Multiple factions in differing areas? Reworked disease and quirks and trinkets? I'm always hesitant to get hyped for anything but this looks like an absolute labour of love and I'm all for it.
People often told me this was full of booba which is something I do not like about certain DD mods. But after hearing it has influence from Robert E. Howard and how the male designs are equally as skimpy, I would consider it fair. Gives me Soul Calibur vibes in the way where it is equal opportunity horny in terms of character design which also seems to be a pattrern in Conan-inspired fiction. Besides this looks incredible, will give this a shot once I am done with my current run of DD.
I'm quite new to the modding community and this just seems so insane to me. Do these modders only rely on support of the community and if so where can you even donate to them? This mod is actually bigger than both of the official expansion combined lol.
(Dev here) to clarify on where the money goes, it pays our members who live on commissions (chiefly artists) because working on BR is time that is being subtracted from what would otherwise be paid work. Which conveniently lets us avoid the issue of "making money on mods" because we're ultimately just commissioning the art from people, so there's no risk of legal troubles.
I hope Red Hook will expand/fix modding capabilities just for those guys, so this mod can get even better. Damn game 2 taken away all support for 1st one :(
I’m aware that this completely removes the og DD story. I would find it interesting if there was a way to have both campaigns active so to speak. Maybe after clearing the heart of darkness, the ship would arrive, and you could send you four best heroes to far off lands to fight a new threat,to maybe get a head start on clearing these desert sands of corruption? I noticed at the start there was a concept for a hamlet ship, maybe that could be implemented? Either way, amazing looking mod! A definitive download once it releases!
iirc, S-Purple's original idea and intent with BR was to make it like Sunward Isles - A dungeon mod with the blimp providing access via the Hamlet. While the team do suggest to complete DD1 before diving into BR, it really is a different experience when considering the character reworks and stat scaling/prep round mechanics etc. I'm not sure how these would work if linked, unfortunately. :)
BR is basically a divergence in the timeline. You're still the heir to the estate, but an old friend sent you a letter asking for your help off in the east on a matter of the utmost urgency. Seeing as the campaign on the estate is going nowhere fast, you agree and head off to help an old friend. (I'm the writer, though S-Purple is the creative director.)
@@Rehteal i really think it's an absurd waste to not implement the base game dungeons and enemies in this. i mean it's absurd, why waste so much of the work already here? it makes no sense to do all this work just to cut off completely the fantastic art of the base game...bah
THis video stuck with me for so long. I played a lot of darkest dungeon even before i watched this video for the first time, and recently i downloaded the game again to actually try and finish it . and now i see this video again and cannot believe how well the artists and modders did the work.
