The movies are way older than we are but it’s a great time, the writing, timing and delivery is just hilarious. Life of Brian if my favourite to watch stoned it’s a laugh from start to finish.
I read somewhere a long time ago that they changed some of the funny names each take, so the actors would actually laugh for real. So the reason why the laughter comes off as so realistic is well, because it is real.
Life of Brian were the Pythons at their best, credit to you for picking up the Pilots speech impediment through a British ascent where he can't say his "R's". The running joke through the scene being Bw'ian and you dare to waid us. The film is subtle humor and toilet jokes, many of which you miss first time around. One of my favorite scenes is Brian writing "Romans go home" and John Cleese as the Centurion corrects his grammar. Telling him to write it out a hundred times before morning... Total Genius.

Fun fact about this scene. All the added actors outside of Monty Python did not practice with them and after the guard was taken away it was all improvised on the spot
I loved this bit! Even better was a little later when Biggus Dickus arrives on a visit from Wome (sorry Rome) and turns out to have a speech impediment too. When the jewish crowd was rolling in laughter at Pilate's speech Biggus exclaims "I'll talk to them!" and the look on John Cleese's Centurion's face as he cries out "Oh no Sir!" is so funny!

Everything that happens on interaction with them is basically improvised :D
Total nonsense. The four guards in this scene were not extras. Together they played 12 different parts in the film, two of them had a long working history with Monty python and were personal friends with Michael Palin and Chapman. Bernard McKenna, guard behind Brian on the left, icon within British television comedy, friends with Graham Chapman and had worked on Robin's nest and Shelley, his production work includes The New Statesman he played 4 different rolls in The Life of Brian. Charles McKeown, the guard taken out first, worked on Ripping Yarns before, was friends with Michael Palin and later worked on Faulty Towers, he also played 4 different parts in the film. The script is available if you want to read it, it's scene 13, it includes stage direction for guards to giggle, and for Chris Langham to pull that face. Chris by the way played 2 parts in the film. Andrew MacLachlan, can't leave him out now I've named the other 3, he was a Scottish first class Cricketer and comic actor, he played 2 parts in the film. He played stoner helper and giggling guard, so I think he had an idea of his roll in the film.

The stoning scene is well worth a watch
The French Castle or Bridge of Death from The Holy Grail are some of the funniest scenes ever
I always hear people saying "Holy Grail" is the best Monty Python movie, but I maintain it's "Life of Brian" and I will not be convinced otherwise!
I grew up watching both and later Meaning of Life which comes in 2nd.
Humor on a very high plan.... priceless!!!!
Was watching this movie one Saturday night when my then early teenage son came in. Asked what it was about. Told him to just sit down and watch it. Best laugh we had together for quite a while.
Good reactions, love your take, thank you.
Watch these Monty Python movies:
*1)* Monty Python & The Holy Grail
*2)* Monty Python's Life of Brian
*3)* Monty Python's The Meaning of Life
*4)* And Now Something Completely Different (movie of skits from Monty Python's Flying Circus BBC Television series from 1969-1974 - shown in America on PBS)
A good Life of Brian clip is 'Alright, I am the Messiah' bloody hilarious!
How can somebody NOT have already seen this?
Notice how the centurion never returns once he leaves 😅 dodged that bullet sharpish
He also appears in spanish inquisition and the rest of monty python
Once a month or so me and a few friends smoke a reaaaaally big blunt (for old times sake) and watch Monty Python films.
Good ups my friend. I love watching someone see that for the first time HAHAHA. Michael Palin sells it so good.
Much as I like this sketch, ‘The Stoning’ wins it for me!
All I said was ‘By Jehovah, that was a wonderful piece of halibut!’
This is a classic British comedy! Love that t-shirt btw!
I literally watched this 2 nights ago. Brilliant film!
Stuff it. I'm putting it on now lol
I love your laugh man, it's super-contagious
I watched the movie when it first came out and been laughing my ass off every time I've seen MP movies ever since. Some of the best satire ever.
Oh man, my favourite python scene ever. Used to laugh at this with my dad. RIP dad.
Gotta Love Monty Python...Great reaction...😄
One had to see the Hollywood films of the decades before to understand what they take the piss out of. I love this classic humour
Michael Palin who plays Caesar here is the famous traveller who Karl Pilkington mentions a few times in Idiot Abroad and has his picture up in the Egyptian hotel in the Pyramids episode. There is a 10 minute video of “Karl meets Michael Palin” on UA-cam check it out
🇬🇧 Haven't seen that film in 35 years.
Still laughing balls of snot watching again today.
Fun fact about this scene. All the added actors outside of Monty Python did not practice with them and after the guard was taken away it was all improvised on the spot
"Wabid wild animals" He just turned into Elmer Fudd.
Flying circus was a TV series. My favourite sketches are "Argument Clinic", "Ministry of Silly Walks" and "Spam"! Also "Accountant" and "I'd like to buy a hearing aid" are good!
Thank you! I needed this, it's been a bad day
Have seen this movie so many times and I still pmsl. Try and do what they do try not to laugh. I couldn't, I was crying 😂😂😂
funny addition to that, all the guards without a speaking role where told that they get payed very highly as long as they don't laugh during this scene.
if the laugh they would be paid nothing.
they never saw the script and where just planned as background characters.
You are the only 'Reaction' channel I watch - No one else compares
Life of Brian blew my mind when I was a kid
John Cleese arguably has the most perfect comic timing ever.
