Wrong! There is shutter lag when you take 200mp photos! On my S22 Ultra the lag is 9 seconds. Finally after an year they made a software update where now you have a new Advanced Inteligence Options menu in the camera settings, allowing you to lower the Quality. On 23 you can see the lag in his video, is just around 3 seconds.
Not sure about 22 model but there is no shutter lag on mine, but if I set the shutter to go after finger release it may seem there is a lag. But maybe that's just my phone
Thanks! Well it turnes out that actually it's using Pixel Binning for that and it's not real 200mp. I'm thinking to buy a full frame Panasonic Lumix S9 camera, but I need to see more comparisons.
I've had this phone for two weeks now and it's a juggernaut. The performance is elite and the battery is out of this world. Samsung went deep in their bag with this S23 Ultra.

Im happy for you. Its really the best feeling after u use a phone(actually a tech device) for 4+ years and retire it. I am even bonded to my old calculator xD. I felt it when i switched my iphone 6 to pixel 6 last year. My iphone 6 will be in my personal tech museum cuz of the memories we shared together.
I did too. Gigantic upgrade from Note 8. My note 8 was doing fine until I ran out of space, and a 1/4 of the screen sensor malfunctioned. Otherwise it was keeping up.
Decided on a whim to buy the S23 Ultra. Upgraded from my S10 Plus which still works beautifully 4 years later. The S23 Ultra feels like a wise older sibling to the S10 Plus. Love the performance of both phones.
I'm in the same boat as you, thinking of upgrading to the ultra from the s10+. Might just have to pull the trigger even though I will miss the expandable memory
I just upgraded from the Galaxy Note 20 to the S23 Ultra this week, and I love it. This S23 Ultra is so much faster than my Note 20, and the camera is so much better, but it still feels like my Note 20.
A note for 10:08 - You can actually improve the shutter lag by installing camera assistant from the Samsung store then search capture speed and select "prioritize speed".
Oh great upgrade, enjoy man. I switching from s22 ultra because my screen broke and fixing it cost me at least half of the price of a new one. Hoping it will be worth it anyway.

I went from S22 Ultra to S23 Ultra and even I noticed the difference in battery and Cameras. The ability to actually have a sharp signature in PDF's is a big thing for me too.
@Santosh Sharma TBH, the S23 Ultra haptics give good feedback, but unfortunately feels identical to the S22 Ultra. Not as strong as the iPhone, however. I usually have it turned all the way up, though, and it feels good in hand.
Honestly, not really, not this time. This was barely a phone review. It was a camera review. And even when it comes to the camera, not a single mention of how those photos look like once shared anywhere on social media. Most people take photos to share them. If he’s gonna spend 90% of the video reviewing the camera, might as well tell us if it’s still terribly compressed once shared…
You guys need to chill. When I said the "quality of the video" I meant the aesthetics , for example @ 0:45 all the things in the frame are not random they were kept there to add value to the shot be it the the black rubik's cube, the speaker, the things that are out of focus, the shadows or the plant for contrast and don't forget the panning to focus on the camera's of the phones when he's talking about the differences between them. I'm a music producer and I've recently started studying video production and color grading to create my own content and to me this is the quality of video production I aspire to achieve. And coming to the phone itself there's nothing much to talk about , it's an incremental upgrade that one should ignore if they already have an s22ultra unless they're a rich, tech enthusiast who must have the latest tech in their pocket.
I've had an S23 Ultra for almost a year and I didn't know I could change the screen resolution.. It was on 1080p. 1440 is absolutely stunning. What a gorgeous screen

I currently have an iPhone XS and have been a loyal Apple user for years after switching from android and my girlfriend recently got this new phone. I got to play around with it for a while and I was honestly blown away. So here I am watching this to solidify my thoughts. I’m looking to take the plunge the moment I have the finances. My gf kept chanting “ONE OF US. ONE OF US” after I told her I was considering it😂
One of the biggest reasons I can’t see myself switching to Android is losing the data and and setup I’ve built up over the years. On a new iPhone I can pretty much copy everything to the new phone, but getting all the media, passwords, contacts moved from iPhone to Android won’t be as straightforward, and will lose my text message history
@Julio Delgadillo no broh this chip efficiency is better..and don't charge your phone upto 100%...there's a option that you can enable it to charge up to 85 only in Samsung.
Great Review! I just wanted to add that, for the s23 series, you can actually reduce/remove the shutter lag if you go into the settings for the camera. You should try it out! I believe you essentially choose that the picture is taken when you click the shutter button instead of when your finger leaves the button, if that makes sense.
Actually, as a common misconception of the shutter lag, it is reducing the frames shot, not shortening the time between pressing the button and taking the photo. The S23, S22, and every other Samsung phone start taking the picture immediately, but it takes time for it to take all of the frames, which is why it feels slow. It's not shutter lag, which many people believe it is.
Battery life in the S23U has definitely improved greatly over the S22U but I bought the ZeroLemon 10,000 mAh battery case for the Galaxy S23U. Now, the S23U battery never dies. What sucks is now my S23U has complete protection but my pockets aren't big enough for this size battery case. My pockets would need to be deep and wide as my mother's purse for it to fit into.
I got fully refunded for my S21 ULTRA within warranty after 23 months of use because the phone retained water under the camera lenses. I was surprised to have been paid back in cash for the full amount. So I went ahead and ordered the S23 Ultra and their Tab A8 on offer and was left with 50e to spare. Best upgrade ever if you ask me 😂
Marques, a detail to highlight is that with the camera assistant app you can choose to have less shutter lag at the cost of having less quality which I didn't noticed any difference. With that option turned on you can get Iphone lvl shutter lag it's great

Samsung has really nailed the ultra line since the s21 release. Had my s23 ultra a couple of days and I'm ending the day on 40-50% after 5+ hours of screen on time, my Exynos s21 ultra was close to dead on 4 hours. Nice refinements all over the phone.

In Europe we went from the Exynos 2200 or whatever model on the S22U, to the SD 8 Gen2 on the S23U. The battery is substantially better, 100% charge could last me 2 solid days of use. It's snappier, doesn't catch random slowdowns, seems happier switching between more apps and repeatedly without caring at all. Camera I haven't had much chance to really test in the past week, but what I have noticed is the refinement in image processing - detail is retained where I'd expect blurring or artifacts before.

I recommend contacting tforce if you are getting the message "you have the wrong account type." If you have a government or employer discount, you won't be able to order on the Samsung website with tmobile billing. Tforce would have to change your account type for that, but I don't know how that affects your discount. I am not with the employer i had workperks with, so it didn't matter to me. Within an hour of tforce putting that request in, I got a text that it was changed, then I was able to order.

Great review, but you forgot to mention that pro photo and pro video mode now work with the front facing camera. So you now can adjust the white balance, shutter speed and ISO of the front facing camera, where you couldn't before in any of the previous years' models. Also, the speakers have improved sound quality from last year, as other reviewers noted.

The overall quality of this video is amazing. Kudos to the mkbhd team 👏
Do you have something to say about the phone he reviewed or as usual you came here to suck up to MKBHD.

Great Review! I just wanted to add that, for the s23 series, you can actually reduce/remove the shutter lag if you go into the settings for the camera. You should try it out! I believe you essentially choose that the picture is taken when you click the shutter button instead of when your finger leaves the button, if that makes sense.
Not a good option though since you're sacrificing image quality.
@@theMLBfan Exactly.
@@theMLBfan was gonna say this
Actually, as a common misconception of the shutter lag, it is reducing the frames shot, not shortening the time between pressing the button and taking the photo. The S23, S22, and every other Samsung phone start taking the picture immediately, but it takes time for it to take all of the frames, which is why it feels slow. It's not shutter lag, which many people believe it is.
Can someone tell me if it has multi burst shots like the other models? Because if it does , burst shots are quick.
S21+ to S23+ for me. Ultra just a bit overkill for my daily usage so it was a good buy. Impressed with the chip!
How much better are the cameras??
I got fully refunded for my S21 ULTRA within warranty after 23 months of use because the phone retained water under the camera lenses. Barcaaaaaa all the way
For me not having to endure Exynos is worth it alone. Also those squared off sides make a huge difference to the in hand feel for me. 👍
For real! Upgrading from my S21 Ultra (Exynos) and I feel like this is a proper upgrade in terms of overall performance and cameras
The corners aren't squared off though, the S23 and S23+ are way better in this regard
@Mr NixxxoN maybe so but this is still a big step in the right direction for the Ultra imho 👍
Regular S23 gets the same battery life as S22 Ultra last year. S23 series might be just a simple, incremental "chip + cameras" upgrade, but it's still a significant step up.
u meant the smaller s23? i decide to get one but kinda worried about the battery

You do a great job with the description of you videos.
Well done!

S23 ultra really look like an upgrade this year!
Although I do like it a lot. It's not much of an upgrade from the s22 ultra.
@@AkronKid330 Who's gonna even upgrade from the s22 ultra? I have the s9 and i was waiting for a more refined s22 ultra and here we are. Pre ordered one already, was expensive asf tho.
@@AJ_91 not really 100 bucks Verizon
@@AkronKid330 the S22 ultra had the absolute worst cpu ever, it lagged, stuttered, was slow, heated up and also caused battery drain
@@alejandromorazan3420exynos version?
Love the new intro graphics. Flagship introduction is killer.
I ordered one..awaiting its arrival...anticipation...can't wait to get mine..
First thing I noticed is MKBHDs support for FC Barcelona 😃
I've had my S23 Ultra 1TB Lime for 4 days now and it's been running great. Not exactly seeing that much SoT from it on a full charge, but it's a lot better than my S22 Ultra.
Just got my first Ultra and I love it. Never going back to a regular S or S+ model.

This is definately the best phone of 2023. And the best phone to buy in Oct2024 Diwali sale at only Rs 75k. The earlier price in 2023 was Rs 1.25 lakhs.
Everybody is saying that 'its better than we think' and I will say YES 😁😁
Another wonderful intro. Kudos to the team👏
The Intro is just amazing. The filming is the best. Great shots.

I'm an iPhone user, but I switched to Android about two weeks ago. I bought a Samsung S23 Ultra, and I'm thrilled with the performance of the S24 Ultra, especially the battery, the camera, the S-pin, and the screen 🤍🤍
Great looking phone. I wish there would be more pressure on Samsung to fix their website for preordering failures with t-mobile. I still can’t preorder because of this
Have same problem. Trying to buy through Samsung to upgrade s10. Can’t do it.
Man I order my note 20 from their website they sent me 4 broken phones! I went 4 months without a phone then ended up with a Samsung S21 Ultra. Then I ordered a watch for my girlfriend damn thing was push backed 2 months I had to put a complaint into the Bbb and magically they found me one at a best buy I had to travel to get it but things they do and customer service is absolutely horrible.
@@IC3N1N3 you’ve convinced me to get my phone from T-Mobile directly.
@@maureenshea4268 I got mine directly from Verizon this time with my S21 Ultrade trade in it's only $11 a month.
Yeah, he should've mentioned speakers
I really liked the improvement in the battery, I hope it improves in the others galaxy too
What phone are you coming from?
I was a manager of a photographic store (old school dark room stuff) when casio brought out their first digital it wasnt even in the megapixel range, it's mind blowing the resolution you can get now. I don't even take my digital SLR out anymore the results you get on this phone matched with the shiftcam lenses attached are amazing.
I can see the efforts you & your team has put in the making of this video. It's sick❣️
Marques these reviews really show how well you and your team work together. Keep up the Reviews!
That's what I'm saying, plus this phone is hitting different this year fr
@@getnow2331 Literally a 256gb base on the phone is crazy
The 4k 30 fps in the selfie camera is good improvement too . Worth noting
WHat's best smartphone to buy under 900 USD?
I went from an S3 to an S23 Ultra... I'm loving it!
Bro what 💀

Really bro ? Bro samsung is beast...my phone s7 edge still alive and I'm using s8 for heavy game and few days back I can't on my phone but it lasted for 6 years !!!! Worth it...Samsung is great phone...enjoy your s23 ultra bro..I love my new phone too ! S23 ultra is beast
I'm going to get the S22 tomorrow. If even offered a slightly better deal, I'll get the S23 Ultra! I'm so ready to treat myself.
I got s22 ultra the battery is terrible. Its forcing me to upgrade to the s23
How much are you paying for it and which phone service?
@@n1kurd Use your phone better. My S22U has been perfectly fine and still has no issues with battery.
@Dorraj I'm not using it better after I've splashed 1k+ on a phone. I use and it has to keep up
@@Dorraj you seem to have gotten the better deal out of the chipset lottery.
Truth is, the 8 gen 1 made by Samsung foundry has a really low yield rate, which explains the different experiences from person to person.
This may be the phone that may actually bring the performance of Samsung flagship phones back on track.
There were no discernible differences regarding performances starting from the S20 all the way to the S22 series.
Hell I had to switch from my S22U to an iPhone due to the inconsistent battery life and gaming performance of that phone.
I've got the s23 ultra and it's amazing 👏
The S23 Ultra is truly the best, even though it has the same design, it does have minor features and adjustments to the camera
But it's not worth upgrading from the s22 ultra, and im an exynos user
@@mac8669 it is. Cameras are much much better with so much detail. Improved videography. Much faster and a longer lasting battery. 100% worth the upgrade.
@@tilbintt3491 I upgraded from my s20 ultra and it's like a whole new phone lol
@@tilbintt3491 not at all 😂 . It feels like you already purchased the s23 ultra even though you had the s22 ultra and now you are trying to justify your dumb decision 😂. Only if you were having a s21 then only you might say it's a good upgrade . I mean no matter what but 1 year improvement can never be called a worthy upgrade at least in 2023 .
@@tilbintt3491 And for all the points you mentioned , it applies to every other phone that every other companies produce too . Like the s22 ultra had better screen , camera , design, performance, battery than s21 ultra , similarly s21 ultra had better features than s20 ... . 😂
Your phone reviews are so simple and yet so good
Got my s23 ultra on February 3rd,1 tb rom variant. I am too much happy with this phone. I was confused if I want iPhone but I choose this phone over iPhone. Pretty solid flagship.
