Regarding the shutter lag on the S23 Ultra, it's because the phone is taking the pictures when u let off the capture button instead of taking the picture when u touch it. This can be changed in the settings & you won't have shutter lag anymore.
As a professional designer, I'm glad that Samsung considered giving us (Powerful zooming) what other huge brands like iPhone or google pixel have never thought of. With the highest number of pixels, you might not need camera lenses, you get sharp & quality images which is very important Also, the videos & photos are already color graded. you just take the shots & share (just as they are marketing). ❣️💐I'm a Samsung gal, and it's the OS of my preference. As a working tool, I've found to be able to do much more using Samsung ever since the Note 2, when I dropped Apple.
I'm also a long time Note user. I have carried Notes since the very first one came out. My biggest gripe though has been the camera. I'm currently still using a Note 20 Ultra and the camera is terrible. I kind of gave up on the idea that Samsung could make a great camera. I'm seriously thinking of getting an iPhone 14 just for the camera because I don't think I could do iPhone as a daily driver.
@@KuttyJoe that's a very expensive camera then. What I've found at least on the S21 is that camera quality has improved quite noticeably with updates. My biggest gripe about the Note family was that it always arrived with a 1yr old Android version instead of being on par with the Pixels released on the same timeframe. I owned the Note 4, 5 and the 8. All of them arrived with an older Android and only received 2 OS updates. That was definitely no flagship treatment to me, knowing my $900 Note 8 launched with Android 7 instead of the newest 8 back then, then waste an OS update to bring it up to date and a year later get its last OS update with Android 9 and that's it for OS updates. Security updates were top notch but OS updates were lacking for such an expensive and capable hardware. Maybe the 10 and 20 are much better because they come with 3 or 4 OS updates but they still arrived with 1yr old Android versions.
@@engineer_alv Yeah, it would have been. I ended up getting the S23 Ultra with that deal from AT&T where they give $1000.00 credit towards a new phone with trade in of old phone in any condition. I traded in an old Note 5 that didn't even work and they took it. But to be honest, I don't really like the S23 Ultra. It's bigger, thicker, and heavier than the Note 20 Ultra. It feels like the Note 20 Ultra is the slim new phone and the S23 is the old, thick, clunky one. In day to day use I can barely tell the difference except for the how big and heavy the S23 Ultra is. And apparently the iPhone is bigger and thicker and heavier so there's that.
For some odd reason I really like Samsung calendar. I personally still use google calendar as my family uses the google ecosystem. (Although we have Samsung phones; we are business owners so the fact that you can do so much more on them draws us to Samsung.)

No night flares in the lens, better night photos, powerful zoom for when I'm on vacation, quick charge battery, 200mp beautiful pictures, 8k full frame night video looks remarkable. S23 ultra for me..already ordered it. Selfie camera needs work tho, it's ok but pretty lack luster. Software update could mod it a little. Feel it lacks contrast.
@@shamsiqadirli it takes really nice selfie pictures. Once in awhile if I feel the contrast is too high, I turn it down some after I take the picture and then it's perfect. Most of the time though I actually prefer to use the main camera for my selfies. I want to take advantage of that 200 megapixel camera I paid for. And they turn out amazing especially in portrait mode
@@shamsiqadirli I myself prefer the cinematic mode on the 23 ultra. As shown in videos it's ability to blur out complicated items during video was actually a lot better than the iPhones. I know iPhone automatically color grades it, but that's literally just one tap after it's been recorded for me from a template. iPhone can do a better thing in very specific conditions but overall the 23 ultra is just more consistent in all areas for me. But the iPhone is great too
The main issue with iPhone is it lacks multitasking. Like you said with Instagram story uploading, I have similar issues with Google Photos videos uploading. Every time I leave the app, upload stops. There are no issues like that on Android. Apple should know that people want multitasking. If iPhone have not enough ram for multitasking, then Apple should put more of it. This phone is freaking expensive. There is no reason for such issues on modern smartphones.
The images on the Galaxy S23 Ultra are more natural and consistent compared to the over sharpened and too contrasty image of the iPhone 14 Pro Max. As for video, they both look similar. Either way, these are excellent cameras!

I dont understand that its been months but still people dont seem to get the fact that iphone 14 pros can go to 1hz only on AOD and not on the regular screens when unlocked. They think that it does that always. Nooooo......
I've owned every generation of the Samsung S and Note line up and the S23 is such a huge leap forward, similar to when they got rid of the home button and added under screen fingerprint sensor and 120hz. Sure it looks similar to the S22u and even the Note 20 ultra but why change perfection? I pre-ordered the S23U on the third and still haven't received it, quite disappointed. The screen with less curve actually makes a huge difference in usability and overall feel. I hope they get rid of the curve completely soon as that's a weak spot that most cases can't protect.
The curved glass is also a stupid feature for a phone that is meant to be written on with a stylus. You end up with a smaller surface to write on, and then you end up staying away from the edge because the stylus slips off the edge, so your writing space is even smaller again. This is one of the worst cases of style over function.
@KuttyJoe I remember when my mother brought home a galaxy phone several years ago, and I was blown away by how cool and pleasant the curved edges were. Here is the thing, most sticky notes have smaller surfaces to write on than this s23 ultra. Further more most pocket note pads have about the same width as the usable surface on the ultra. Perhaps it's true that the pleasure of my writing experience on the phone will gradually increase with a non curved edge but I didn't buy this phone to make handwritten notes. [Though I do admit it's one of my most favorite things about the phone. Being able to write down a phone number real quick on the spot is quite amazing)
@@blueridgeocean I don't think you can compare writing on a perfectly flat physical sticky note to writing on a piece of glass with curved edges. The experience of writing on paper is simply always going to be better than writing on a phone. The phone is doing it's best to emulate writing on paper. So just comparing the size of the sticky note is not a good comparison. With pen and paper it's actually easier to just write smaller and go right up to the edges if you need to. You can't do that with any Note, not even the older ones that had flat screens. The stylus gets wonky, and the cursor moves away from the tip of the stylus as you get closer to the edge. But at least the stylus didn't slip over the edge like a cliff. Oh well, Samsung is doing whatever it has to do to get sales. And if the sales stop the phone also goes away so we have to accept the good with the bad in that case.
🤯 I didn't know they had exclusive colors too. I was planning on getting mine from Samsung anyways and now I see they have my favorite type of green too?!

Hahaha, samsung is not boring because it doesn't work as well. Laggy software, slow camera with completely random results and a bunch of gimmicks make it look like a toy compared to a tool.
@Luka Bošnjak Samsung one UI has been top notch for atleast 5yrs now and the camera quality has actually been better than Apple for some time now but Apple still has slightly better video quality...but the performance on both phones are nearly identical and has been for some time now.. so I don't get your hate for Samsung and it's ok to give another company it's flowers for doing something great

I have the samsung Galaxy s22 ultra, and if you do to, I would wait for a while before getting the s23 ultra. Because there will always be bugs and mistakes after its recent release.
It’s also almost the same phone. I feel like yearly upgrades are no longer necessary. I had an s21 ultra until about a week ago that was still going strong, it still had most of the features of an s23 ultra (besides internal s pen) it still had several years of support, and the battery had lost like maybe 5% capacity. Only reason I upgraded was because my carrier had a trade in promotion for the iPhone 14 pm that made a lot of sense for me. I plan on keeping this phone for several years
@@daidalos1508 Why would you be more likely to upgrade an s23 ultra, which is more capable? Going from an s22 to an s23 ultra is honestly… not a good idea. Like for almost anyone. The upgrades from s22 to S23 is the same as from iPhone 13 pro max to iPhone 14 pro max . Just some improvements all around. I guess there will be the obligatory "updates" that will come in the next few months
Absolutely not. The SD8 gen 1 chip from last year heated up so fast that gaming was impossible and so was the batterylife. Also microstutters on Exy2200 machines. I have both 22 and 23 here and the difference is EXTREME
I want to get the S23 Ultra, but I've heard other content creators saying that the new generation with the big changes will be on the S24 Ultra, so I'm just gonna wait to next year to make the transition from iPhone to S24 Ultra
They say that about the iPhone every year too. The trend has been contrary to that. Phones have peaked a few years back imo. All of the upgrades on have been incremental. Next year will be no different.
My guess is that phone companies are doing what the car industry is doing: three year cycle periods. As the s21-23 are very similar then I think the S24 should have a decent update, although it may be the S25 as the ultras have had their design for the S22 and S23.
@@alexw794 What do you think, in your honest opinion, will be the upgrades for next year? And do you truly believe that it will be small incremental changes again next year?
So my favorite looking phone of all time is the S9+/ Note 9. No punch hole or notch, just a handsome bar across. I like the Samsung ultra as I often find me using the zoom a lot, for both pictures and videos. One example is when your at a football game and need to video the game, following the ball of a player. With iPhone’s 15x max zoom, it’s impossible to get a clear and close shot of the subject from the stands. (I am talking about high school football were there are not massive screens for the viewer.) With the Samsung you can get a clear shot between 10-30 and still have a close shot of the ball. I even find myself using the ultra wide was less the telephoto.
Both phones are very close in most categories, but to me .. the S23ultra wins.. mainly due to the more useful features that majority of people could actually find use for. Granted the satellite signal feat is cool on iPhone but that's a tool for explorers in my book. Which Is a small percentage of individuals. Where as having something like Dex granted been in quite a few galaxies but still its better and better. And Def the future .. more brands are starting to cook up their own versions. Also apple still doesn't cater to developers and software enthusiasts like myself.
I knew the conclusion already!.. It all depends on your personal preference & depends on which OS you like 😛.. It's the same conclusion from many many years now by all reviewers of this comparison! 🤣
Flagships have been so close for so long now, and this is time is no different. It purely depends on what software feature you want that one phone may offer over the other. Regardless of which device you choose, it’s gonna be a great experience, and the phone will easily last you for several years.
As a programmer, macOS is so much more convenient to use (than windows, and I can boot up with linux at any given time) that I kinda had to get an iphone 14 pro max. My previous phone was S20+. After a few months, I gotta say that for everyday use, I most definitely prefer the iphone. I have never had as good of a battery life as I do with the iphone, and all social media apps work so much better and at true 120Hz compared to the samsung (even when it was a new device). I like to toy with my phone, so that’s kind of a bummer that I can’t with the iphone (at least not as much), but the smoothness of the UI makes that up quite well.

@@TechReviewTom the batterylife is highly dependent on the apps and stuff you are doing wirh your phone. My 14PM lasts around 2 days with heavy snapchatting, tiktok, instagram etc. Those apps are much less power efficient on android, and therefore the batterylife would most likely be worse for ME in the s23U. In some other areas the samsung might win, or not. A lot of battery tests on yt show that iphone 14PM and Samsung galaxy s23U are very close to each other in terms of batterylife
I am using honor play since the last 4 years. I am thinking of upgrading to either iphone 14 pro max or s23 ultra. Which do you suggest is the best option for the upgrade??
As a Samsung & Android user for so many years, I have to say that there is no better phone than Galaxy for taking Landscape Photos and Zoom photos. Anyway, S23 Ultra is the most "complete" smartphone for everything. Lots of additional customizable features and insane camera with vibrant colors. Samsung improved their portrait shots a lot. I have to mention that. But, when it comes to portrait shots and videos, the iPhone is insane. No other phone can match that quality, especially for portraits. In my opinion not even S23 Ultra. I mean, that depth looks so natural. It beats even some of the high end DSLR cameras. These new iPhones improved a lot since these famous 11 series. I have to give credit to Apple for that. However, my personal opinion is that no phone in this world is worth more than 800€. The pricings went insane during the past years. 1000€-1500€ for flagship is way too much. For that money you can buy DSLR, decent smartphone and TV. 🤣

Honestly both phones are KINGS. It honestly goes down to which software u prefer and which ecosystem u like. If u have a MacBook, iPad. Then maybe iPhone is a better choice in terms of the ecosystem. Of course Samsung does have it’s own ecosystem. This of course brings good news to us consumer as the competition is high and forcing out new and better improvement and innovation.

I’m thinking I will stick to my new iPhone 14 Pro Max. I have watched a few camera tweak videos and have been practicing with the camera settings in my new iPhone…My iPad Pro and iPhone plays quite well together!!!
I like iPads for their value, but when it comes to phones, I’m Android all the way 👊 one Main reason is the android swipe navigation. Love the side swipe to go back. Just choppy having to reach for the back button on the iPhone. Back swipe only works on some apps on the iPhone. Not a dedicated feature like on android. It’s a big deal.
Gonna be a tough choice coming from Galaxy S10, especially now that the One UI has become so versatile and great overall. Also, about the fingerprint sensor vs Face ID; I'm used to logging into different apps with the fingerprint sensor on my S10 and I've always been satisfied with that. Is that experience just as smooth with the Face ID on iPhone? The apps just ask for your face upon the authentication process? Anyhow great video, subscribed without a doubt!
I'd say the FaceID is more seamless when you're already using the phone because you basically don't have to do anything other than look at the screen, which you're already doing. To unlock your phone when it's sitting on the table, especially if you don't want to lift and look directly at it, fingerprint is better. Came from an S10e to an iPhone 13 and this is my experience.
yeah I would hardly call ios's support longer now. The iPhone has 5 years of updates while old ios versions go out of date extremely quickly while the Samsung has security updates for the same duration with a year less of new android versions but android stays supported literally multiple times longer, most apps still work on android 5, that's over 8 years old, ios 13 is about at that same place but is obv much newer. Also we're yet to see if a year gets slashed from the base iphone 14's support seeing they have last year's chipset.
Considering IPhone sold more phones than Samsung in 2022 despite their prices and and shortages in Chinas manufacturing Apple is clearly working well and people seem to like it overall

I use speck cases. Slim and high quality.
Yo can I have your older phones
Ah, at long last you've dropped such awaited comparison of both king phones, Thanks SAF.

But, when it comes to portrait shots and videos, the iPhone is insane. No other phone can match that quality, especially for portraits. In my opinion not even S23 Ultra.

I don't even have to watch the video. I can easily say, s23 ultra all the way! I've tried the new iPhone pro models for about the last 3yrs, but always returned or sold them within a couple months and went back to samsung.
Really wish there was a way to see the exclusive colors early. Really curious to see how the lime color will look
The s23 Ultra has the burst option which takes picture like a machinegun so shutter lag does not matter.
Do you have any affiliate links for the UK, Saf?
Ever since the S22 Ultra, I switched over permanently from iPhone to Samsung. There are just categories I prefer that the S series does better. As someone who plays games, it's also more seamless and consistent.
The fingerprint scanner is so underrated
Especially when lying down😅
Never had any issues with faceid laying down, never in the dark or anyplace else, mightby if he has hes whole face in hes pillow i guess😂
Lol totally!
😅, just try a fingerprint phone as good as the s22 and you'll understand the underrating😅
@@kontrollamicheal4677 i got it for work, its fine. But still prefer faceid, just a swipe and its open rather than put my finger on the display
I’m moving from 13 max next year to the s24+ or ultra idk yet but I like how case makers are putting MagSafe in the galaxy cases
The ONLY comparison video I care about from the person who does THE best comparison videos.
Appreciate it buddy! ❤️
"these videos aren't gonna edit themselves so get back to it" 💀
@@SuperSaf Bro. s23 Shutter button not Laggy 👀 Please open camera settings and get in to camera assistant 💯then you can control your shutter spped actually 👍
Awesome comparison video!
Great comparison that lures me to buy the S23U .Also thanks again to SideSaf for his pert interposition (or isn't it rather Super-SideSaf or Side-SuperSaf ?)
IN 2018 U MADE ME SWTICHED TO S9+ I DROPPED IPHONE
I'M SO HAPPY TO BE SAMSUNG USER FOREVER 😌
I have always switched between Android and Apple every few years, I just got an S23 Ultra and my 14 Pro Max is now sitting in the box. Samsung has really stepped up their game with this phone, I should have never bought that 14 pro max it was not that big of an upgrade from my last iphone. As long as Samsung keeps improving their phones, I will stick with the Galaxy phones from now on.
Can I have your iphone
@@Paakidbro get one urself
Sel to me that iphone

I did the same thing but, I wanted a smaller phone so I went with the 14 Pro but I recently bought the 23 ultra just to check it out. I miss how small the 14 Pro is but the software on the 23 how ultra is just amazing now I can’t make up my mind.
S23 Ultra: DEX, KNOX, S-Pen, Multi-window, multi-tasking, filemanager, inscreen fingerprint scanner, integration with X-box live, Windows and Spotify, camera integration with TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, themes for super personalization of your Galaxy.
The Galaxy offers sooo much more.
I recently got an iPad Pro and a iPhone 14 Pro Max. I traded in my S21 Ultra for my iPhone and was worried mostly about how good the camera was. I had 14 days to bring the iPhone back.
Thanks for your description❤🎉
Can anyone comment on the transfer speed between the two flagships and a macbook using wired / airdrop? Both can shoot hefty-sized files...
Definetly the S23 ultra because of the extra 10x zoom (optical) and 200 mp, just wow .
More megapixels doesn’t equal better camera
@@michealadebz It's still clearly better than the iPhone 14
@@smith5319 photography debatable videography the iPhone is still better
@@michealadebz The videography that's true but photography goes to Samsung.
@@michealadebz you are Right but better Sensor = better pictures
Supersaf, i think the caption should not be a question anymore. 😁 it will always be the same answer. It will depend on our personal preference.
Samsung always impress with thier galaxy and I did took some of them since few years tried switching but ended up getting back to iPhone 😃
my dream is to have an s22 or s23 someday, i just love these phones
@@Pogaspm im on iphone 13 pro max , miss the finger print sensor so so much
yeah I would hardly call ios's support longer now.
@Damyan Sandoval wtf are you on about? We're taking about software support, stop straw manning
Get what works best for you! Neither is best for everyone 🙏🏼
Switching from iPhone to Samsung this year what a beast of a phone!
